Kalam denies role in Indo-French film

New Delhi, November 28: Former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam has denied that he is appearing in an Indo-French film titled “I Am Kalam”. But actor Gulshan Grover insists Kalam “has given a shot as himself in the movie”.

Kalam’s office said in a statement: “Kalam has no plans to act or associate with any film. The news is only a speculation and it is the individual’s imagination with a business motive.”

‘Red Alert’ inspired by a newspaper report: Mahadevan

Panaji, November 28:The story of “Red Alert”, a film based on Maoist violence in India, was inspired by a news report published in a leading national daily, says its director Anant Mahadevan.

“Actually I was inspired by a true story that appeared in The Hindustan Times about a farmer who got inadvertently trapped with a group of Naxalites,” Mahadevan told reporters during a media interaction here Saturday.

“Red Alert”, which stars Suniel Shetty, Seema Biswas, Naseeruddin Shah, premiered at the 40th edition of the International Film Festival of India.

Mumbai,November 28:Neha Dhupia has been around for more than six years now and has done films as diverse as “Mithya” and “Julie”. But she neither believes in boasting about her body of work nor is she keen to approach leading actors and filmmakers to rope her in for their films.

AR Rahman performs for US president Obama

Telegu director Teja scouts for new face

Hyderabad, November 27: Noted Telegu filmmaker Teja is in seach of a new teenage face for his forthcoming film ‘Atu Itu’.

Teja is on the lookout for a 18-year-old boy to cast him in the lead role in the film. He is also planning to introduce around 40 new talented artists through the romantic drama.

“‘Atu Itu’ produced by Jayam movies is an unusual love story. It revolves around a teenage girl who falls in love with a boy who leads a luckless life. What follows is a gripping tale of surprising trials and inexplicable emotions,” director Teja said in a press statement.

Salman Khan’s dad walked out of Veer screening

Mumbai, November 27: Recently, Salman Khan hosted a trial of Veer for his father, Salim Khan. Salman was waiting to see how his father would react to the film but the latter simply left the screening without a word.

Thinking that his father perhaps didn’t like the film, Salman got worried. He was overwhelmed when his father called him at 2 am to tell him that the film as well as he was outstanding. The actor then got nostalgic about the way his father had reacted to his debut, Maine Pyaar Kiya.

Abhishek wrapped up ‘Paa’ within budget: Big B

Mumbai, November 27: Amitabh Bachchan says “Paa” was crucial for his production company AB Corp and says son Abhishek has done a remarkable job as a producer by wrapping up the film within a Rs.15 crore (Rs.150 million) budget.

“Any film that a producer makes is crucial for him financially. And we completely recognise that. We can only hope that ‘Paa’ does well. This time Abhishek has managed all the production hassles and I am glad he has done it with a high level of maturity,” Amitabh told IANS in an interview on phone from Mumbai.
