Muslim grouping seeks fair probe in Karnataka terror case

A Muslim federation of over dozen organisations Friday sought a quick and fair investigation into the arrest of 11 youth suspected to have links with banned terror outfits LeT and HuJi and plotting to carry terrors attacks in the city.

“We demand a quick and fair investigation of the case, adherence to rule of law and reiteration that innocents will not be harassed,” federation convener Masood Abdul Khader told reporters, a day after police revealed that the accused were arrested Wednesday from Bangalore and Hubli.

ACB arrests Dy commerical tax officer in bribe case

The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials arrested a Deputy commercial Tax Officer in a bribe case while another sub-registrar officer was absconding in the same case in the city. A 45-year-old Deputy commercial Tax Officer Munimandla Vijay Kumar, working at Charminar Circle in the city was caught red-handed by the ACB officials in the late hours yesterday from his office when he demanded and accepted an amount of Rs 50,000 as bribe from the complainant for doing an official favour. Tainted bribe amount was recovered from the accused officer and later he was arrested.

Bangalore police arrest youth from old city for alleged terror links

In a joint operation a team of Bangalore Crime Branch along with the sleuths of Counter Intelligence Cell have arrested Obaid-ur-Rahman from Hyderabad for his alleged links with the terror outfits.

The 21 year old Obaid is a resident of Gulshan-E-Iqbal colony at Hafiz Babanagar and he is a B.com dropout of Anwarululoom College in city. Immediately after the arrest Obaid was shifted to Bangalore by the crime branch sleuths. The arrested youth is the close relative of Moulana Mohammed Naseeruddin.
