ACB arrests Dy commerical tax officer in bribe case

The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials arrested a Deputy commercial Tax Officer in a bribe case while another sub-registrar officer was absconding in the same case in the city. A 45-year-old Deputy commercial Tax Officer Munimandla Vijay Kumar, working at Charminar Circle in the city was caught red-handed by the ACB officials in the late hours yesterday from his office when he demanded and accepted an amount of Rs 50,000 as bribe from the complainant for doing an official favour. Tainted bribe amount was recovered from the accused officer and later he was arrested. He will be produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad, ACB said in a release here today.

In another case, 54-year-old V Narender Reddy working as Sub-Registrar and senior Assistant Suraiah (both working at Sub-Registrar, Shamshabad, Ranga Reddy district) were caught red-handed by the ACB officials in the late hours yesterday from their office when they demanded and accepted an amount of Rs 15,000 through T Rajender Rao,a private person ,as bribe from the complainant for releasing of sale deed document.

Tainted bribe amount was recovered from T Rajender Rao.

Suresh and Rajender Rao were arrested and will be produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad. However, Sub-Registrar fled away from the office on noticing the ACB Trap party entering the Sub-Registrar office, the release added. UNI
