Bangalore police arrest youth from old city for alleged terror links

In a joint operation a team of Bangalore Crime Branch along with the sleuths of Counter Intelligence Cell have arrested Obaid-ur-Rahman from Hyderabad for his alleged links with the terror outfits.

The 21 year old Obaid is a resident of Gulshan-E-Iqbal colony at Hafiz Babanagar and he is a B.com dropout of Anwarululoom College in city. Immediately after the arrest Obaid was shifted to Bangalore by the crime branch sleuths. The arrested youth is the close relative of Moulana Mohammed Naseeruddin.

On Thursday the Karnataka police have arrested 11 persons who are suspected to have links with terror groups like the HUJI and Lashkar and were plotting to assassinate some politicians, journalists and some representatives of Hindu groups according to the police. The Bangalore police claimed that Obaid was arrested after the HUJI sympathizers revealed his name in the interrogation.

Crying foul over the arrest of Obaid,his mother Syeda Kausar said that her son is innocent has been targeted by the police.”My son never went to Bangalore nor he knows anyone there,how can he conspire to kill the political leaders” said Kausar. She also said that her son is the asthma patient and is on medication.
