New Delhi, December 30: A day after voting was unable to take place in the Lower House of Parliament on Lokpal Bill, Home Minister P Chidambaram assured the nation that the bill was very much alive. “The Lokpal Bill is still safe and not defeated in the Rajya Sabha. It will be taken up in the Budget Session and we will talk to all the parties concerned,” he said.
New Delhi, December 30: Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram on Friday said Pakistan judicial commission will visit India in January 2012 .
Talking to reporters after presenting his Ministry’s monthly report card, Chidambaram said: “We have informed the Mumbai High Court that Pakistani commissions desire to visits India in January and they have suggested some dates and we have asked Chief Justice of Mumbai High Court to agree and give suitable instruction to the judicial authorities.”
New Delhi: Dismissing the charges of orchestrating a ruckus in Rajya Sabha during the debate on Lokpal Bill, the Congress on Friday hit back at the main Opposition BJP saying that they were the ones who should be blamed for the murder of democracy.
New Delhi, December 30: First introduced in 1968, the Lokpal bill is yet to get parliament’s nod, and faces an uncertain future with the Rajya Sabha Thursday night adjourning sine die without voting on the legislation.
The Lokpal and Lokayuktas bill was first introduced in the fourth Lok Sabha May 9, 1968, and passed the following year.
However, while it was pending in the Rajya Sabha, the Lok Sabha was dissolved, and so the bill died.

At least ‘187 amendments were moved. The last of which was received at 6 (p.m. Thursday). That is the real story,’ Home Minister P. Chidambaram told reporters here, a day after a midnight drama in the Rajya Sabha ended in stalling the much awaited anti-graft Lokpal bill.

Although sex trade operators are known for devising ingénues ways to escape law but the ‘experienced’ police were in for a surprise when they raided Nishant Bar and Restuarent in Borivali on Thursday night.
As per the police, the proprietors of bar were running a full-fledged sex racket under the grab of ‘legal’ bar business.
