CBI now ‘Congress Bureau of Investigation’: Gadkari

Kolkata, December 01: Alleging that the Congress was constantly using the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to settle scores with political opponents, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wednesday said the federal investigative agency had turned into a “Congress Bureau of Investigation”.

“The Congress is constantly using the CBI against political opponents,” BJP president Nitin Gadkari said during an informal talk with mediapersons here.

AP High Court stays NEET

Hyderabad, December 01: Giving a major relief to thousands of EAMCET students, the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday stayed the undergraduate and postgraduate medical/dental course admissions through the common National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) in the state till further orders.

Responding to a petition filed by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) member Dr N Appa Rao and four other students, the court said that the stay would continue till the final disposal of the case.

Hyderabad, December 01: Government whip Kondru Murali on Wednesday informed that the Business Advisory Committee of the State Legislative Assembly has decided to conduct the winter session of assembly for five days from December 1.

Sania keen to pair up with Bhupathi

New Delhi, December 01: Sania Mirza is keen to pair up with Mahesh Bhupathi for next year’s first Grand Slam, the Australian Open. “It is a possibility that Mahesh and I may play together. We had spoken initially about the US Open (2011) but I will be speaking to him about the Australian Open now. We will be meeting up at a tennis camp in Mumbai in a few days time and I will be talking to him there,” said Sania, who is in Delhi taking part in a Fed Cup camp at the DLTA.

“On a happier note Suhana won an award at katha national story writing competition. Yippeee!!! Another story teller in the house!!! (sic),” Shahrukh wrote on micro-bogging site twitter.

The actor recently shot a special promotional video for director Farhan Akhtar’s forthcoming film, ‘Don 2’ that is schedule to release on December 23.

Iran sanctions first step to war: Paul

Washington, December 01: US Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul says more sanctions planned against Iran over its nuclear program are leading down the destructive path of war.

In an article titled, ‘The Folly of Sanctions,’ Paul sharply criticizes US foreign policy for imposing more sanctions against Iran and warned about its “unintended consequences.”

He explained that sanctions are not only acts of war according to international law, they are most often the first step toward a real war, starting with a bombing campaign.

APPSC invites online applications for Group-I posts

Hyderabad, December 01: The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has invited online applications for the posts included in the Group-I Services-2011.

The online applications can be sent between December 9 and January 8, 2012. The last date for payment of fee is January 6, 2012. The candidates have been asked to visit commission’s website “www.apspsc.gov.in” for detailed information.

Fourty days after he father’s death, Aisha Gaddafi in an audio message called for a fight against the rule that “arrived with the planes of NATO.”
