Chennai, June 08: The city woke up on Sunday to the macabre tale of a man’s body parts being recovered from three different parts of the city and his head still missing.

With the help of a receipt found in his trouser pocket, the police identified the man as G Suresh Kumar, a 42-year-old man from Kodungaiyur who worked as an intermediary for gold sales. The motive behind the murder is yet to be established, though the police suspect business-related rivalry.

Man kills his five children, tries to commit suicide

Ghaziabad, June 08: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly stabbed to death his five children before trying to murder his wife and commit suicide, police said Monday.

The incident took place last night when Ravinder Verma returned home in an inebriated state to which his wife Durga objected.

In a fit of rage, Ravinder stabbed his five children — three girls and two boys — who died on the spot and tried to murder his wife. He then tried to commit suicide by stabbing himself and cutting his veins, police said.

Father kills his five children due to financial crisis

Lucknow, June 08 : A father tried to commit suicide after killing his five children in Vijaynagar locality of the city last night.

The culprit Ravindra, who was going through acute financial crisis , also tried to kill his wife and stabbed himself.

Police said Ravindra killed his five children by beating them with iron rods and when his wife Durga protested she was also beaten by him.

The couple was admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

The deceased children were identified as Anjali(12), Priti(10), Priyanka(5), Devraj(6) and Ashu(8).

Mother, son end life

Hyderabad, June 08: Bukkawar Rani (42) and her son Mahesh (21) committed suicide by hanging in their house at Jainad mandal headquarters in the wee hours of Sunday. Problems within the family is believed to be the cause for the duo for taking the extreme step.

Nagpur, June 08: A 25-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her stepsons over sharing of property in the wee hours of Sunday. The incident occurred at victim’s Farooque Nagar home. Victim Ishrat Jahan had married Yaar Mohammed, who is in his fifties and having ten children from his first wife, just a couple of months back.

Jewellery worth Rs 1 cr robbed from shop

Lucknow, June 08: In a daring robbery, an armed miscreant entered a jewellery store and decamped with jewellery worth over Rs 1 crore, moments after the store owner opened his shop for the day in Sarrafa Chowk area in Pilibhit on Sunday morning. The shop is located barely a 100 metres away from the local Puranpur police station.

Agitated over the incident, traders of Sarrafa Chowk announced that they would keep their shutters down till the accused(s) was arrested and the booty recovered.

Girl raped, set ablaze

Lucknow, June 08: Despite tall claims of the UP Police of initiating stringent action against eve-teasers and those involved in crime against women, a youth barged into a house in Auraiya and raped a teenaged girl, finding her all alone in the house. When the victim raised an alarm, the accused reportedly doused her in kerosene and set herself ablaze before making good his escape.

Illiterate aunt brain behind Dr Fraud

Ahmedabad, June 08: As bizarre as it may sound, police officials in Ahmedabad now say that an illiterate woman, who can’t even spell her name properly, is the brain behind conman Ashok Jadeja’s multi-crore scam.

Jadeja’s aunt, Manbai Rathod, 60, who is a witch doctor or ‘bhuva’, is believed to be the mastermind of the investment scam threatening to cross the Rs 1,000-crore mark. Though illiterate, Rathod coined the now-famous slogan, ‘Jai Madi’ (Jai Ma), which has become synonymous with Jadeja. She was responsible for Jadeja’s demigod status.

Woman arrested for murdering husband

New Delhi, June 08: A 30-year-old woman was arrested here for allegedly murdering her “alcoholic and abusive” husband after her father reported the matter to police, investigators said today.

Neha alias Sunita was arrested yesterday from her Rohini residence by police after her father reported the murder of his son-in-law Naveen (32) on Friday night, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Atul Katiyar said.

CBI arrests NCP MP Padamsinh Patil

Mumbai, June 07: Padamsinh Patil, a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP and a former Maharashtra home minister, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) late Saturday night in connection with the murder of a Congress leader in 2006, official sources said here. Patil, who represents Osmanabad in the Lok Sabha, was earlier detained after being questioned till late into the night, the sources said.

He is likely to be produced before a court in Panvel Sunday, the sources added.

Murder case witness dies in Delhi

New Delhi, June 05: The main witness in a murder case succumbed to injuries after being charred by the accused of the crime, said police sources.

According to the sources, Saleem, the witness in a murder case was first abducted and later charred to death by the accused of the crime.

The victim was admitted to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital in the national capital where he succumbed to his injuries after four days on Thursday. It is worth mentioning here that the police did not record any statement of the victim. The relatives of the victim accuse police of negligence in the case.

Man broadcast RAPE live

Phoenix, June 04: A man has been accused of sexually assaulting an unconscious woman and broadcasting it live on the Internet.

A statement filed in court in Phoenix says 20-year-old Jonathan Richard Hock was arrested Monday on charges of sexual assault, kidnapping and taking a surreptitious photo.

The court document said Hock set up a Webcam and sexually assaulted the 20-year-old woman in her bedroom in February while she was unconscious from drinking alcohol.

Nursery teacher kills mother

New Delhi, June 03: A 26-year-old nursery school teacher, along with her boyfriend, allegedly bludgeoned and stabbed her mother to death with kitchen knives, a broken beer bottle and a pressing iron after they were caught together in her Paschim Vihar house in west Delhi, police claimed on Tuesday.

The murder took place last Thursday and was initially reported as the handiwork of robbers — a story allegedly cooked up by the daughter to save herself.

Daughter, boyfriend held for killing mother

New Delhi, June 02: Delhi Police claimed to have cracked last week’s gruesome murder of a woman in Paschim Vihar with the arrest of her 26-year-old daughter and the girl’s boyfriend, who had apparently panicked on being caught together in the house and killed her.

The girl, Sakshi Kapoor, and boyfriend Sunny Batra, 21, were arrested Tuesday.

The corpse of Gulbani Freedon Murzdan, who died 20 years ago, was discovered on Thursday in the freezer in South-east London. The police is treating the case as unexplained.

Jadeja designed a scheme to dupe people,invested Rs50 cr in property, gold

Ahmedabad, June 01: Ashok Jadeja involved in the scam of crores of rupees, was arrested by the CID crime on Sunday morning. A source said that Jadeja designed a scheme to dupe people because his clinic in Sarkhej gaam did not fetch him enough. He presented himself as a priest of the Mata Sikotar temple and claimed to have divine powers. He promised people to return thrice the amount of money they entrusted him with in three days, said a source.

Man held trying to sell live cartridges

Mumbai,May 29: The crime branch arrested a man who had come to sell 970 imported live cartridges at Null Bazaar in south Mumbai on Thursday.

The police are now trying to ascertain how Maqsood Zahid Khan (31), who trades utensils in exchange of old clothes, had come in possession of the bullets in their original sealed packaging.

Senior inspector of Unit 2 Mangesh Potte said on Wednesday, constables Anwar Memon and Irfan Shaikh received a tip-off that somebody wanted to sell bullets. Khan was arrested and 500 bullets seized from him.

Railway cops bust gas racket

Mumbai,May 29: In the wake of the Dharavi cylinder blast, which injured six children last week, the railway police busted a racket where gas from domestic LPG cylinders was filled into tins. These tins were sold to jewellery manufacturers in the suburbs.

Vikas Chaurasia (20) and Munna Sekhasaria (32) have been arrested. All railway policemen were on the alert for inflammable substances being carried on trains.

Man assaults wife with hammer for refusing food

New Delhi,May 29: In a unique case where a woman has come to the defence of her daughter-in-law and demanded arrest of her son for assault and attempt to murder, police have registered a case against a resident of Farsh Bazaar in east Delhi for attempting to murder his wife. The case has been filed by the accused Sanjay’s (37), mother Kamlesh.

According to the police, Sanjay had a tiff with his wife Manju (34) over his drinking habits. The accused reportedly came home on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 pm after a binge drinking session and demanded lunch.
