More than a decade after their last biggie “Ghulam”, the Bhatt trio of Mukesh, Mahesh and Vikram is back with `Raaz 3`, which is the most expensive film they have made ever since.

Actress Vidya Balan, who was declared the best actress for playing a sex symbol in “The Dirty Picture” at the 59th National Awards Wednesday, said she is still trying to believe that she has won the prestigious trophy.

“I want to believe it..long cherished dream has come true…. my first…I don’t know what to say….I want to thank director Milan Luthira for giving me this film. This is really unbelievable…It is the biggest honour of the ocuntry…it is very speical…every award is special,” Vidya, 33, told CNN-IBN after winning the award.

TDP to move no-trust motion against Andhra government

Hyderabad, June 02: The main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh Thursday decided to move no-confidence motion against the state’s Congress government.

TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu told reporters that the party would give notice for the no-confidence motion to Deputy Speaker N. Manohar.

Stating that the motion is being moved on problems faced by farmers, Naidu said his party is ready for any situation, including elections to the state assembly.

The former chief minister said the government has lost the confidence of people.

Shiv Sena non-committal over Headley’s assertion

Mumbai, May 24: The Shiv Sena today appeared non-committal over the testimony by David Coleman Headley ,a prime accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, that he had visited the party headquarters in the city.

Headley told Chicago court judge Harry D Leinenweber that he had visited the Sena headquarters in Mumbai and also built contact with one Rajaram Rege, which he (Headley) claimed was a public relations officer (PRO).

An assessment made by Indian agencies suggests that almost three-fourths of the Pakistani military brass is concerned about the way American helicopters crossed into Pakistani territory, carried out a surgical strike and left without informing either the Pakistani government or security establishment, Indian government sources said.

Australian teen admits killing Indian student Nitin Garg

Melbourne, April 20: An Australian teenager pleaded guilty on Wednesday to the stabbing murder of Nitin Garg, the worst in a series of violent crimes against students from India that hurt diplomatic ties.

Garg, 21, was attacked as he walked through parkland to work at a Melbourne burger restaurant on January 2 last year. He managed to stagger to his workplace before collapsing with fatal stab wounds.

‘No change in Kochi IPL team’s home ground’

Kochi, February 20: The home venue for the Kochi Indian Premier League (IPL) team, Indi Commandos, is the ground here, a Kerala Cricket Association official said Saturday, denying any change in plans for the forthcoming IPL-4 matches.

“All the talk that there would be a change in the home venue of Indi Commandos is not true and already the schedule for five matches to be staged here has been announced,” Kerala Cricket Association secretary T.C. Mathew told IANS.

Mathew was reacting to news reports that there would be a change in the home venue of Indi Commandos from Kochi to Ahmedabad.

Gujarat summit sees MOUs worth Rs.15 lakh crore signed

Gandhinagar, January 12: The fifth Vibrant Gujarat global investors summit got off to a flying start here Wednesday with the state notching up promises of Rs.15 lakh crore ($333 billion) in investments through 2,766 Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs).

The amount is expected to go up substantially by the time the summit ends Thursday.
