Mumbai businessmen caught partying with bargirls

The Lonavala police Wednesday busted a rave party and nabbed 52 people, including 12 bargirls and 40 young businessmen from Mumbai, an official said here.

The party was held in a secluded private bungalow near Apati village, off the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.

In an early morning swoop, police nabbed the heavily intoxicated revellers who had created ruckus the whole night, disturbing the villagers.

Police have seized several bottles of Indian and imported liquors and some unidentified narcotics, which have been sent for analysis.

1. Heat oil in a pan and saute the ginger and garlic followed by the 2 chopped onions till it turns pink.

BJP to take action against Shatrughan Sinha

The BJP said Wednesday that it will take action against actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha for saying that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is “prime minister material”.

“BJP will take disciplinary action against Shatrughan Sinha for his statement in favour of Nitish Kumar. It is harmful for the party,” party vice-president C.P. Thakur told the media here.

Thakur added that the BJP won’t stop Shatrughan Sinha if he decides to quit the party.

Shatrughan Sinha, the BJP Lok Sabha member from Patna Saheb in Bihar, Tuesday said that “Nitish Kumar is certainly PM material”.

Mayawati for splitting UP, bats for Gorkhaland, Vidarbha

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Wednesday renewed its demand for breaking up Uttar Pradesh, India’s most populous, into four states: Purvanchal, Bundelkhand, Harit Pradesh and Awadh Pradesh.

A day after the UPA gave the go ahead for the formation of Telangana as India’s 29th state, Mayawati said her party was always a votary of smaller states.

“We have traditionally been in favour of small states. Our government passed a resolution in the assembly to split (Uttar Pradesh) into four parts,” she told reporters.

Chicken Breast – 2 (You can use drumsticks too)
Freshly ground pepper – 1 tblsp (or as per taste)
Lemon – 2
Salt – as needed
Oil – 1 tsp

Method
1. Gently scrap the zest of both the lemon and put it in a bowl.
2. Add the ginger garlic paste, salt, turmeric powder, fresh ground pepper powder, finely chopped cilantro, juice of one lemon and little oil and make a paste.

Hyderabad to add another chapter to its history

Hyderabad is all set to add another chapter to its 422-year-old history by becoming the joint capital of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for 10 years.

Located in the heart of Telangana, the city will also serve as the capital of Andhra Pradesh, the name which the non-Telangana region called Seemandhra (Rayalaseema and Andhra) is likely to retain.

Under the formula worked out by Congress, Hyderabad will serve as joint capital for 10 years and during this period, Andhra Pradesh will build its own capital.

All-party meet Aug 1 for smooth parliament session

Keen to get major bills passed in the monsoon session of parliament starting Aug 5, the government said Wednesday it had convened an all-party meeting Thursday.

According to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath, who has convened the meeting, Finance Minister P. Chidambaram and Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, leader of the Lok Sabha, will take part in the meeting.

According to an official statement, the meeting will involve leaders of parties from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to reach an understanding on the smooth running of parliament.

TDP demands development of new city at par with Hyderabad

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu Wednesday urged the centre to develop a city at par with Hyderabad as the capital of Andhra Pradesh following the formation of separate Telangana state.

He said the centre should allocate Rs.2 lakh to Rs.4 lakh crore to develop a new city. He demanded the government to earmark the funds in the bill it plans to table in parliament for formation of Telangana state.

Mamata slams Congress on Telangana

Condemning the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) for endorsing statehood to Telangana, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Wednesday dubbed the decision as “divisive politics”.

She has written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking for reasons behind the decision.

“I have written to the prime minister asking whether the decision has been right or wrong,” Banerjee told reporters at the state secretariat here.

Telangana formation linked to Lok Sabha polls: CPI-M

The CPI-M Wednesday said the formation of Telangana appeared to be linked to the forthcoming Lok Sabha election, and warned that this will trigger calls to split up other states too.

“This decision seems to have been impelled by the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections,” the Communist Party of India-Marxist said in a statement. “It will give a fillip to demands for separate states in other places.”

The CPI-M, which has opposed the break-up of Andhra Pradesh, said it had always stood for the integrity of states based on the democratic principle of linguistic states.

Govt to hold interactions with political parties tomorrow

Rupee crashes to 61.17, RBI forced to sell dollars

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) was forced to sell dollars on Wednesday as the Indian rupee hit a low of 61.17 in early trade, coming perilously close to its all-time low of 61.21 on July 8.

On Tuesday, the rupee had closed at 60.48 to the dollar.

According to television channel reports and news agencies, the RBI reportedly sold dollars via state-run banks. The currency traded at 61.02 as of 9.50 a.m.

The rupee has come under sharp selling pressure after the RBI kept interest rates on hold yesterday and failed to announce any additional steps to defend the currency.

Mahendra P.Lama appointed IGNOU pro-vice-chancellor

Professor Mahendra P. Lama has been appointed the new pro-vice-chancellor of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), an official statement from the varsity said Wednesday.

Lama, 52, was the founding vice-chancellor of Sikkim University set up in 2007, thus becoming the youngest vice chancellor of a central Indian university at the age of 45.

JNU student attacks classmate, attempts suicide

A 23-year-old student of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) here attacked a woman classmate with a sharp object on the campus and later attempted suicide, a police officer said Wednesday.

The incident was reported at around 11.30 a.m. in room number 213 of the School Of Languages.

The man was identified as Akash and the woman as Roshani, 22. Both were immediately rushed to different hospitals.

GTA will not be dissolved, says Mamata

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Wednesday ruled out the dissolution of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) as the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) called an indefinite shutdown in Darjeeling hills to press for its demand for a separate state.

The state government also accepted the resignation of GJM chief Bimal Gurung from the post of chief executive of GTA – an autonomous and elected hill development council created in 2011 through a agreement between the GJM and the state and central governments.

Disabled kids receive harsher punishment across developing world: Study

A new study has revealed that children with disabilities receive harsher punishment across the developing world.

According to the study conducted by researchers at the Duke University Center for Child and Family Policy found that disabled children were more likely to be severely punished by being hit on the head or beaten with an object such as a stick or belt.

A research professor, Jennifer Lansford said that attitudes toward disabilities can vary between cultures adding that while disabilities are often stigmatized, the opposite can also be true.

4 cups of fresh seasonal fruits (Peaches, kiwi fruit, Strawberries, Pomegranate, Bananas, Papayas or mangoes)
½ cup fresh Orange juice
1 cup fresh Lemon juice
A pinch of rock salt

Take a large mixing bowl and put the fruits in it.

Offsprings of expecting mothers, who experience stress during pregnancy, can become obese, if the children cope with stress passively, a new study has suggested.

The research shows that passively coping offspring of mothers stressed during their pregnancy were at risk to develop obesity and type 2 diabetes.

Previous research in rodents suggested that both prenatal stress exposure and passive stress coping style might predispose offspring to develop type 2 diabetes later in life.

They look like normal eucalyptus trees up to 65 feet tall with a trunk girth of about 19 cm and towering over their peers in an evaluation trial on the foothills of Himalayas here. They are hybrids, progenies of two high-growth species of eucalyptus parent trees.

The progenies – just about six-years-old – have shown a growth pattern which is substantially higher over a commercially available clone variety of their age and with approximate height of 25 feet and girth of 6 cm.

Anti- terror court unfreezes bank accounts, assets of Musharraf

The Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) has ordered authorities to un-freeze former Pakistan president General (r) Pervez Musharraf’s bank accounts and assets. The order from the ATC came after it set August 6 for indicting Musharraf in the Benazir Bhutto assassination case. According to the Daily Times, the court reinstated Musharraf’s frozen bank accounts and assets as he had earlier filed a petition for the recovery of his assets. Musharraf’s lawyer, Ilyas Siddiqui, requested the court to withdraw its earlier order of confiscating his assets.
