Mr. E.S.L.Narasimhan, stressed the need for ensuring progress in all the rural areas by providing complete infrastructural facilities so that the Culture of theVillage is preserved. He was addressing the inaugural function of 11th Asian Urbanisation Conference in Hyderabad. In his inaugural address, the Governor stressed the need to take effective steps for providing basic amenities in villages so that the migration of people from rural areas to urban areas could be checked.

Siasat Talent Search Today

Hyderabad, December 11: Under the auspices of Siasat a state level Talent search Test 2011 is being conducted today from 2 to 4.30 p.m. in the city of Hyderabad and in various centers in the districts. Convener of the test told that nearly 20 to 25 thousand students are expected to participate in the test. Compensation given to Muslim youths is from the maintenance of mosques fund

 

Hyderabad, December 11: As per the saying “Cut the nose of the deity and present the same as offering” the Govt. is giving compensation to the innocent Muslim youths of Makka Masjid bomb blast case from the provision of maintenance grant of “Royal mosque of Public Garden. Not only this, the Govt. is planning to distribute the amount of compensation individually instead of giving them in an official celebration.

Wife’s taunting led husband to commit suicide

Hyderabad, December 11: A man dejected over wife’s taunting in the name of caste hanged himself to death. The incident occurred in LB Nagar area at the city outskirts where 30 year old Pradeep Kumar hanged himself in his house.

Pradeep had done love marriage 7 years ago with a high caste girl Mohida Reddy and they have 3 children.

According to reliable sources Pradeep’s wife used to taunt her husband regarding his caste and used to constantly say that ‘you are low caste and hence do such things.”

Distraught over this Pradeep took the extreme step and hanged himself to death.

SARDI KI GARMAGARMI (FERVOUR OF COLD)

Day before yesterday when there was severe cold, I very well remember that it was nine o’clock of the night because I heard from my own ears that the watchman of the Police station had struck nine on the bell. I then took out my face from the quilt and saw the watch. After this, I dipped into my quilt and engaged myself for an hour thinking about coldness and apathy. After that the watchman started striking the clock bell. I could hear clearly three strokes but for the fourth stroke the sound benumbed as if someone had strangled his throat.

Marriage against choice, man commits suicide

Hyderabad, December 11: A man distraught, on being forced to marry against his wishes for the sake of dowry, committed suicide. The incident occurred under Saroornagar police station limits where 28 year old Naresh hanged himself to death.

It is said that Naresh forcibly married a year ago on his parent’s wishes, while he was in love with another girl and wanted to perform marriage of his choice.

400 hospitals in the city lack fire safety arrangements

Hyderabad, December 11: The massive fire incident occurred in AMRI hospital Kolkatta in which 90 persons were killed has placed a question mark on the fire safety measures taken up by the private hospitals.

Sadly there are atleast 400 hospitals in Hyderabad where a fire accident, like that of AMRI hospital Kolkatta, may occur since there are no considerable fire safety arrangements in the said 400 hospitals.

5 Muslim youth arrested

Hyderabad, December 11: In a mild stone pelting incident occurred in Dabeepura on December 6, on the occasion of 19th anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition, Mir chowk police took 5 Muslim youth into custody.

According to reliable sources 5 youth Atif, Faiyaz, Wasey and others were taken into custody late at night and were shifted to Dabeerpura police station.

They are being interrogated.

Hazrat Rabe Husni Nadvi assures to put the issue of uninhabited mosques on the table

19-year-old has 20 girlfriends in five years

Singapore, December 11: 19-year-old Rabbani Mohammad Zaini has had more than 20 girlfriends in the last five years, but he says he is not proud of it.

At the first ever Character Development education forum, entitled “Friendship, Courtship, Hatred, Love” organised by Temasek Polytechnic, he stood up and asked the panel of experts how he can differentiate between love and lust.

It was a brave admission in front of 200 schoolmates by the second-year student.

His question was directed at six speakers, who were sharing their insights on topics like love, lust, and dating.

Hyderabad, December 11: Old Qutub Shahi mosque is located at Bata Sangaram (Choutuppal) at a distance of 40 kilometers from Hyderabad. The village has 100 Muslim houses. There are 3 inhabited mosques and one uninhabited mosque in the area. The uninhabited mosque is situated in Jent George Memorial School run under Christian management.

This mosque is 400 year old and the school has been established quite recently but the path is not being given for going to the mosque, owing to which the mosque is uninhabited.

Siasat and MDF to organise Do Ba Do programme on December 18

Hyderabad, December 8: The 13th Do Ba Do programme to settle marriage alliances of Muslim boys and girls will be jointly conducted by Siasat daily and Minorities Development Forum on Sunday, December 18 from 10 am to 4 pm at Anwar ul Uloom Degree College Mallepally in which parents and guardians will settle alliance by mutual consultation.

A special meeting was conducted at MDF office in this connection, presided over by Mr. Mohammad Allauddin Ansari advocate.

20 counselors were appointed in the meeting; besides those 30 volunteers will serve as moderators between parents.

Decomposed body of woman found

New Delhi, December 11: The decomposed body of a 24-year-old woman was found in a house in the capital, police said Friday.

The body was detected Thursday morning in Delhi’s Vijay Vihar when some locals informed police about foul smell coming from a house.

“The door of the house was broken open and the body was found. It was sent to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem,” said a police officer.

The deceased was identified as Puja.

Jaipur, December 11: Two-and-a-half years ago, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced in a national conference on internal security in New Delhi that the horrifying case of serial blasts in Jaipur on May 13, 2008 — in which 69 persons were killed — stood resolved with the arrest of “radical youths” in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh as well as some Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) members in Rajasthan. He gave credit to the State Anti-Terrorist Squad for cracking the case.

Reservation is against Islam : Muslim group

Bhopal, December 11: The demand to provide reservation to Dalit Muslims on the lines of Dalits is against the basic principles of Islam, a Muslim organisation said today.

All-India Muslim Backward Classes Federation (AIMBCF), in a statement here, said reservation was given to Dalits on the account of oppression suffered by the community in the past.

AIMBCF president Ibrahim Qureshi said there was no way in which ‘Dalit Muslims’ can be equated with their counterparts in the Hindu community.

Anna to observe fast at Jantar Mantar

New Delhi, December 11: Gandhian Anna Hazare will observe a day-long fast at Jantar Mantar on Sunday to protest against the Lokpal draft prepared by the Parliamentary Standing Committee and to push for a strong Lokpal Bill.

Anna is expected to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat and then move to Jantar Mantar to begin his fast. He is expected to break his fast at 5 pm.

Father jailed for strip show at son’s wedding

Beijing, December 11: A man in eastern China’s Jiangsu province has been jailed for hiring strippers to perform on his beloved son’s wedding.

Zhang Cheng, a villager of Fengxian county, asked strip performance provider Li Wei to unleash a “special performance” before the wedding guests at around 10 p.m. on his son’s special day in October, the Shanghai Daily reported.

The news that someone was organising the strip-show spread like wildfire all around and over 200 villagers flocked the venue in a short while to watch the performance.

3 women activists receive Nobel Peace Prize

Stockholm, December 11: Three women rights activists from Africa and the Arab world received the Nobel Peace Prize at a ceremony in Oslo Saturday.

Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Liberian peace activist Leymah Gbowee and Yemen’s pro-democracy campaigner Tawakul Karman were awarded the prize in early October for their “non-violent struggle for the safety of women and for women’s rights.”

The three women will share the prize of one million euro (about $1.5 million).

Rahul woos Muslims with quota promise

Lucknow, December 11: Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi Saturday tried to woo Uttar Pradesh’s Muslim population ahead of the 2012 assembly elections by assuring them that a new reservation policy would soon be in place for them.

“We will keep our commitment of providing reservation to minorities in the state,” Gandhi told a gathering of party office-bearers at the state Congress headquarters here.

“We will do it soon,” he declared amidst applause.
