Rahul To Play Bigger Role In Congress

New Delhi, November 09: In the backdrop of persistent reports that Rahul Gandhi may be elevated to the position of Working President of the Congress, the party gave clear indications today that his role would expand.

Without going into the specifics of the future position for Rahul, already a General Secretary, Media Department chief Janardan Dwivedi said that there was no suspense that he would have a bigger role in the party.

One woman constable in all stations soon: DGP

Hyderabad, November 09: In order to check the crime against women, the State Police is planning to appoint at least one woman constable in all police stations in the State.

Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy said that to prevent attacks on women and sexual assault on children, particularly girls, the department would appoint one woman constable in every police station in the state. He said that the government was taking assault and harassment on women seriously and warned of stringent action against those involved in such acts.

Sachin crosses 15,000 runs milestone

New Delhi, November 08: Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar has achieved the unique distinction of having made 15,000 runs in test cricket. He has touched this magic mark when his individual score was 28, in the second innings of India, against its first test match with West Indies here.

Sachin is now the only cricketer in the entire world to have achieved the 15,000 runs. He has created this history by playing in 182 matches and 300 innings. His score is studded with 51 centuries and 61 half centuries. Sachin has scored 99 centuries in Tests and One day matches together.

security chief, has said that the Libyan dictator, who had enjoyed great riches and luxurious palaces during his reign, lived without electricity or TV as the rebels advanced.

Book Jagan in mining case: TDP

Hyderabad, November 08: The Telugu Desam Party has demanded that the CBI name Kadapa MP and YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy as an accused in the illegal mining case by filing a fresh first information report (FIR).

Addressing a press conference here, TDP politburo member and former Union minister K Yerran Naidu claimed there was enough evidence against Jagan to implicate him

“We demand that the CBI register a fresh FIR by naming Jagan as an accused in the illegal mining scandal. He should be brought to book,” Yerran Naidu said.

Jagan has refuted the allegations.

Notorious cheater arrested in Old City

Hyderabad, November 08: The South Zone team of Commissioner’s Task Force on Tuesday arrested a notorious absconding accused Maodood Ahmed Khan, who was involved in 13 cases of cheating and other offences.

According to Additional DCP (Task Force) Suhas Chaturvedi, the accused Khan was involved in cases of cheating, promoting enmity between classes and assault on police personnel in Hussaini Alam, Panjagutta, Asif Nagar, Begumpet, Humayun Nagar, Langar Houz and Rajender Nagar police station limits. The 37-year-old Khan used to operate as Mesaiah Mehdi Mahadev and Lord Shiva.

In an exclusive interview with CNN, Mansour Dao, a surviving member of Gaddafi’s clan, said the Libyan dictator survived on scraps of food he found in deserted houses and became engrossed in reading books that he had stacked in his suitcases.

Cheating case booked against Chandrababu Naidu

Hyderabad, November 08: The Chaitanyapuri police have registered a case against Telugu Desam party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu under Section 420 IPC on the direction of the Ranga Reddy district court on Tuesday.

One Janardhan Goud, a lawyer, has filed a criminal complaint against Naidu alleging that the former chief minister had cheated the people of Telangana.

The court, which has admitted the petition, directed the police to register an FIR against Naidu.
