Unable to bear husband’s harassment, wife commits suicide

Hyderabad, November 16: Unable to bear husband’s harassment a woman hanged herself to death. The incident occurred under Kushaiguda police station limits where 21 year old Hemalata wife of Srinivas resident of Indiranagar committed suicide by hanging herself.

Police sources told that Hemalatha got married to Srinivas 2 years ago and he was harassing her for quite some time. He was assaulting her physically and mentally. Unable to bear this Hemalata resorted to the extreme step and commit suicide.

Mumbai, November 16: After doing some hot scenes in Sahib Biwi aur Gangster, Shreya Narayan finds herself out in the cold in Rockstar. The newcomer was seen in a blink-and-miss role in Imtiaz Ali’s flick. Not many would have even noticed her as Ranbir Kapoor’s bhabhi as she featured in merely two scenes.

Shreya who was noticed in Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster (in which she essayed the mistress Mahua) was in for a shock when she saw the film. It was obviously not what Imtiaz had told her about nor did it measure up to what had been shot with her in New Delhi.

15% of students asthmatic: Docs

Hyderabad, November 16: Around 15 per cent of school children in Hyderabad are asthmatic and it’s not just the pollution, but improper usage of inhalers and dosage of medication that is aggravating the problem.

Doctors insist that syrups and tablets that go directly to the blood stream instead of the airways are harmful and so parents should desist from changing from inhalers to these medications. In addition, excessive use of preventive and reliever inhalers add to the complexity of the ailment.

Resignations of Vijayashanti, KCR rejected

Hyderabad, November 16: The Lok Sabha Speaker rejected the resignations of MPs G. Vivek, Madhu Yashki, Manda Jagannadham, Gutta Sukhender Reddy, S. Rajaiah, Balram Naik, Ponnam Prabhakar and Suresh Shetkar.

Another Congress MP Mr Komatireddy Raja-gopal Reddy’s resignation over the same issue is under consideration of the Speaker and so is the case of Mr Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy of the YSR Congress who had put in his papers in protest against the reported inclusion of YSR’s name in the FIR filed against the Kadapa MP, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

AP-TET on January 8

Hyderabad, November 16: Andhra Pradesh state Teachers Eligibility Test AP-TET will be conducted on January 8 and the CTET under centre’s CBSE is scheduled on January 29. This exam will be in English while the state level exam will be in Urdu medium.

Mobile phones for 1.22 lakh RTC employees

Hyderabad, November 17: For the first time in the country, the AP State Road Transport Corporation is providing cell phones to a staggering number of 1.22 lakh employees for their better communication with the management and to provide better services to passengers. The RTC will pay Rs 3.5 crore a year to the publicsector BSNL towards rental.

With this, station staff will be better placed to get in touch with drivers and conductors to know the bus arrival timings so as to inform the passengers from time to time.

Saudi prince says ample evidence of Iran plot

Washington, November 16: Saudi Arabia’s former ambassador to the US has said there was “ample and heinous” evidence that Iran was behind an alleged plot to kill the current Saudi envoy to Washington.

Prince Turki al-Faisal, who also once served as Saudi Arabia’s intelligence chief, told reporters yesterday that if Tehran failed to prosecute Iranians linked to the plot, Riyadh may take the case to the United Nations.

7-year-old who weeps stones

Hyderabad, November 16: Doctors in India were dumbfounded when they discovered that a 7-year-old girl wept stones, and are clueless as to what may be causing the phenomenon.

According to local newspaper Tamil Nesan, Kura Nitya from a village near Hyderabad has been discharging stones from her right eye for the past 15 days.

She has been weeping about 12 to 25 stones a day.

Her parents have approached several ophthalmologists, who were unable to diagnose what was causing the problem.

Her grandfather Gopal Reddy said that the stones began popping out on October 26.

Waqf board appeals to rehabilitate abandoned mosques

Hyderabad, November 16: Siasat correspondent talked to the young chairman of waqf board Maulana Ghulam Afzal Biabani better known as Khusro Pasha regarding the uninhabited mosques in the city and showed him the pictures of all the uninhabited mosques about which write-ups are being published in Siasat under the heading ‘Food for though for Muslims’.

Minor raped by hospital staff

Hyderabad, November 16: A person in charge of housekeeping at the Indo American Cancer Institute has been charged with rape by a 15-year-old girl who was working with him.

The teenager said she was raped three months ago and registered a complaint on Tuesday with the Banjara Hills police after she found she was pregnant. The police has registered a case against Srisailam, the housekeeper in-charge, for raping the minor. He is absconding and the police is looking for him.

3 held with fake notes

Hyderabad, November 16: Three persons were arrested by the Kulsumpura police while they were trying to circulate counterfeit currency.

Police seized 28 fake currency notes of `1,000 denomination from them.

According to police, the arrested are Mohammed Hazikul of West Bengal, Mohammed Arif of Bihar and Mohammed Taleem of Mangalhat in the city.

Police caught Arif and Taleem based on information provided by fruit vendors of Puranapul.

The duo purchased fruits twice and exchanged `1,000 notes for the purchases.

Helpless Indian workers conned into smuggling

Dubai, November 16: Indian blue-collar workers in the Gulf are being warned not to carry strangers’ luggage or accept free air tickets when travelling home.

The warning comes following reports by Indian intelligence agencies that workers leaving the Gulf countries are being used as carriers of fake currency.

In several such recent cases, Indian workers, mostly from the state of Andhra Pradesh, have been arrested for carrying bags with fake currency notes.

Man plotted sisters murder

Hyderabad, November 16: Police unravelled the mystery behind the murder of two sisters in broad daylight at Asif Nagar a few days ago with the arrest of the brother of the deceased and three others.

The sisters, S Leela Bai (60) and S Kamala Bai (48), were found murdered in their house at Ravindra Nagar in Asifnagar on November 4.

They were spinsters and were living with their niece, Sunita, police said, adding that during investigation they came to know that the sisters were in possession of some portion of ancestral land and some money in fixed deposits.

HCA officials fail to win stay of probe

Hyderabad, November 16: The AP High Court directed the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to continue its investigation into financial irregularities allegedly committed by officials of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) in the construction of its Uppal stadium and asked the watchdog agency to submit a final report.

Some HCA officials had petitioned the High Court to stay the investigation, contending that as they are not public servants, they are not liable for action under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Bangalore, November 16: Over two lakh city Facebook users woke up to a social media embarrassment yesterday morning as their accounts had been hacked and weblinks to their morphed pornographic pictures sent as feeds to friends and family.

According to global media reports, more than 60 lakh Facebook accounts were hacked since Sunday night. Social networking analysts have claimed that officially more than 2 lakh Bangalore Facebook accounts were hacked.
