Mumbai, February 03: Farah Khan is currently working on the script of her next film and at her end is doing all to ensure that this time around, there is enough for audience to munch on when it comes to entertainment pie. Though each of her three films so far – ‘Main Hoon Naa’, ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Tees Maar Khan’ – has been a commercial success though of varying degree, Farah admits that she is not shying away from learning the ropes all over again for her fourth outing.

Someone impersonating me on Twitter, says Jayalalithaa

Chennai, February 03:AIADMK general secretary J. Jayalalithaa Thursday said someone was posting messages on micro-blogging site Twitter using her name.

In a statement here, Jayalalithaa said: “It has been brought to my notice that ‘tweets’ are being sent out through the social networking and micro-blogging website Twitter.com in my name.”

“I would like to clarify that I am not on Twitter and as such the tweeting purportedly done in my name is by an imposter or impersonator.”

“I am initiating criminal action through the police cyber-crime department,” she added.

Internet will run out of IP addresses by Friday

London, February 03: The internet will run out of numerical IP (Internet Protocol) addresses by Friday. But the web will not ground to a halt. A new system, Internet Protocol version 6 or IPv6, will replace version 4.

Every device connected to the net is assigned a number. But with millions of web enabled phones now online, the numbers are running out.

The system, set up in the 1980s with a maximum of 4.1 billion addresses, was supposed to never run out. The original creators of the web initially thought it would be used only for academic purposes.

Sri Lanka look to three-in-one Sangakkara

New Delhi, February 03: Sri Lanka cannot ask for more of Kumar Sangakkara who performs a triple role – stylish batsman, safe wicket-keeper and shrewd captain.

Krejza wins Aussie recall

Perth, February 03: Forgotten spinner Jason Krejza has emerged as a candidate for the World Cup after being recalled to the Australian one-day team on Thursday.

The attacking off-spinner has not played for Australia for more than two years, but was added to the squad for Sunday’s seventh and final one-day international against England at the WACA Ground in Perth.

The recall comes as Australia monitors the fitness of its two premier limited-overs spinners ahead of the World Cup, which is less than three weeks away.

Hamilton, February 03: New Zealand cricket coach John Wright has made in-form Pakistan batsman Misbah-ul-Haq the focal point for his side on the eve of the crucial fifth one-day cricket international.

New Zealand trail Pakistan 1-2 after four matches and need to win in Hamilton on Thursday to keep the series alive going into Saturday’s final match in Auckland.

Sydney, February 03: Australia captain Michael Clarke and all-rounder Shane Watson will miss the final one-day match against England in Perth on Sunday to get some rest before the World Cup, Cricket Australia said on Thursday.

Australia have already won the seven-match series against England and hold a 5-1 lead after their two wicket win in the sixth game in Sydney on Wednesday.

Hamilton, February 03: A maiden century for teenage opener Ahmed Shehzad carried Pakistan to 268-9 against New Zealand in the crucial fifth one-day cricket international in Hamilton Thursday.

Youth ends life

Hyderabad, February 3 (Siasat News): A 28-year-old person was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a private hostel at Chaitanyapuri.

The deceased K Ramesh of Karimnagar, was staying in Bhavani men’s hostel at Kothapet. He was found unconscious in his room and was shifted to a hospital where he died during the treatment.

Police suspect Ramesh might have consumed poison.

Cairo, February 03: Reports say Israel has sent crowd dispersal weapons to the Egyptian regime to curb massive protests against President Hosni Mubarak’s 30 years of authoritarian rule.

The International Network for Rights and Development said that three Israeli planes landed at Cairo’s Mina International Airport on Saturday, carrying equipment for use in dispersing and suppressing large crowds, a Media correspondent reported.

Karimnagar, February 3: Civil Supplies Minister D Sridhar Babu on Wednesday stated that the government will set up DPL Centres to distribute ration cards in the state.

Talking to media persons after participating in Racha Banda organized at 31st division, Subhash Nagar in Karimnagar district, the Minister said the government will distribute ration cards to all eligible persons through DPL Centres from February 15.

US varsity seeks setting up campus for 3,000 students in state

Hyderabad, February 3: The Pepperdine University of California has proposed to set up educational facilities in Andhra Pradesh.

A 9-member delegation from the University led by Timothy M Chester met Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at Camp Office in this regard.

Rs 20-lakh stolen cash recovered in 10 hours!

The movie is based on the life of Silk Smitha, one of the most popular sex sirens of the mid eighties in the South Indian film industry. She was known for her bold roles and skimpy outfits.

London Olympics is my biggest goal, says Sharapova

Moscow, February 03: Former world number one Maria Sharapova, who is still looking to rediscover her best form after shoulder surgery, is excited at the prospect of competing at next year’s London Olympics.

“The Olympics is my biggest goal in tennis and my dream is to represent Russia in London,” Sharapova told reporters.

The US-based Russian missed the 2008 Beijing Games due to a shoulder injury.

Sharapova, 23, is in Moscow for this weekend’s Fed Cup first-round tie against France, making her eligible to compete for Russia in London.

Kerala High Court dismisses writ against NBFC sanction

‘Ben Ali must pay for stolen $5bn’

Johanesburg, February 03: Senior member of Tunisia’s An Nahda party Seyyed Ferjani says ousted Tunisian President Ben Ali will have to pay for the $5 billion that he has stolen from the North African country.

“I can assure you that he will [be held to account]. All of this belongs to the people. It is not out of revenge; it is not out of a grudge,” Ferjani said in his interview with Media.

“This guy, according to Forbes (business information magazine), has got $5 billion in his account. Where did he get it? $5 billion for him only; let alone, his family,” he added.

Mubarak will escape Egypt: Poll

Cairo, February 03: The results of an opinion poll suggest that the popular revolution in Egypt will force Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to escape from the country.

According to the poll carried out by Media, nearly 53 percent of respondents believed that Mubarak will flee the North African country.

The results indicated that 13 percent said that the unrest will be quelled with the support of the United States.

This is while 34 percent said that the Egypt revolution will bring about Mubarak’s collapse but the remnants of the system will still persist.

Workers faint to booming sounds, media criticised for false news

Nalgonda, February 3: Relatives and police of some people who had fainted due to large booming sounds emerging from a power generation plant at Premier Explosives Company Limited at Kandukuru mandal in Yadagirigutta mandal in Nalgonda district lashed out at media for reporting that a bomb explosion had taken place there.
