A bench of Justices Tarun Chatterjee and Aftab Alam in its verdict accepted the demand for the probe on the plea of the brother of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, who was allegedly killed in a fake encounter by the Gujarat Police.

New delhi,January 06:Former IAS officer Rupan Deol Bajaj on Tuesday demanded that the government should withdraw the Padma Shri awarded to former Punjab DGP KPS Gill, who was convicted for molesting her.

Bajaj, who is an information commissioner in Punjab, said Gill’s conviction was upheld by the Supreme Court and he should also be stripped of his decorations.

Gill, however, dismissed the demand as “ nonsense.” He was also unperturbed if the medals given to him were taken away by the government. “ I never asked for it. They gave it to me.

3 Pakistani terrorist escape from delhi hospital

New delhi,January 02:Three Pakistani terrorists, who have already completed their sentences and were soon to be deported home on Saturday, escaped from a city hospital after giving immigration officials the slip, police said.

The trio managed to slip out of the clutches of Foreigners Regional Registration (FRRO) officials at the G.B. Pant hospital in central Delhi.

“There were not in the custody of the police. But they were under restraint orders of the FRRO. We have registered a case and are searching for them,” Joint Commissioner of Police Karnal Singh said.

Washington,January 01: A breach of security procedure at a heavily guarded CIA base in Afghanistan allowed a lone Taliban suicide bomber, who was posing as aninformant, to inflict one of the deadliest blows ever on the US spy agency.

The bomber, who killed seven CIA officials and injured six others, was allowed to enter the compound without the mandatory security screening and search, the ABC news said on Friday based on information received from CIA officers.

“The ministry’s office in Riyadh issued such recruitment visas for three days last week and would resume the service next month,”

The news is a relief for many of the seven million expatriate workers, who are unable to bring their families on resident visas due to their profession written on their iqamas.
