Hyderabad, January 07 :The students ar leading the telangana agitation and till now more than 1812 students have attempted sucide and out of which 73 were succesful in taking their lives.
According to gvk ambulance service A 24-year-old youth reportedly upset over the “delay” in formation of separate Telangana state committed suicide here, police said today.
A Bhooma Reddy, a native of Adilabad district, who was pursuing a multimedia computer course in the city was found hanging in his room at Erragadda here last night, they said.
Sanathnagar Police have found a suicide note purportedly written by Bhooma Reddy in which he said “I’m sacrificing my life for the cause of Telangana.”
The suicide note further said “I appeal the Central government to immediately form Telangana or else more students (from the region) like me will resort to the extreme step,” sources said.
Following a complaint from the house owner where Bhooma Reddy rented the room, Sanathnagar Police today booked a case. Further investigations were on.
Officials said over 20 persons have so far committed suicide as part of the struggle for Telangana since November 29 last year, though unconfirmed reports claim the number is much more high.
