Lokesh poser to Harish and KTR causes flutter

Nara Lokesh, son of TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu caused flutter by making controversial remarks against TRS senior leaders T Harish Rao and KT Ramarao in the Twitter.

After the all-party meeting in Delhi, Harish Rao called the media and criticized the Congress, TDP and YSRCP. Responding to Harish Rao’s criticism, Lokesh responded in a twitter saying, “the NTR Trust Bhavan was awaiting your application for attender’s post and asked KTR when he would tender his resignation”.

Some parties targeting TDP: Naidu

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has alleged that some parties were out to create problems for the TDP.
Naidu, who reached Vavilala village under Jammikunta mandal during the 14th day of his Padayatra in Karimnagar district, said his party was the only party which sent backward class persons for the all-party meeting.

Addressing a meeting here, he said his party also proved its honesty by sticking to its letter of 2008. He reiterated that TDP was not against Telangana.

Crime on women: Cyberabad cops form special action plan

Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dwaraka Thirumala Rao has stated that his department has come up with a special action plan to check crime against women like sexual assaults and so on.

Speaking to the media here, the Commissioner said the Police department has taken the suggestions made by software, BPO employees, company representatives and cab organizers into account for providing security to women employees. He said that the action plan would be revised again, while establishing ‘special help desk’ in the four women police station under Cyberabad jurisdiction.

Activist Shabnam Hashmi quits govt panels

Social activist Shabnam Hashmi today quit five government panels, including Central Advisory Board of Education(CABE), alleging Congress “connivance” to ensure Narendra Modi’s victory in Gujarat Assembly elections but did not say how.

Hashmi, the founder member of NGO Anhad, resigned from membership of Maulana Azad Education Foundation, National Monitoring Committee for Minority Education (NMCME), National Literacy Mission Council (NLM) and Assessment and Monitoring Authority of Planning Commission besides CABE.

Its bogus all-party meet,says Harish

TRS senior leader T Harish Rao has said that the just-concluded all-party meeting had proved beyond doubt that it was a bogus meeting.

Talking to the media here on Friday, Harish Rao said the government had failed to provide a justifiable solution to a very serious problem like Telangana. Questioning how the Centre could seek another adjournment for giving solution to such a serious problem, the TRS leader charged the Centre with adopting delaying tactics since the beginning and the all-party meeting was just its extension.

Vimalakka released from jail

Telangana United Front co-convener Vimalakka was released from the Chanchalguda jail here on Friday.
The trial court granted bail to Vimalakka, who was arrested in connection with the raid on Puppalaguda toll gate and destruction of statue of former chief minister late Kasu Brahmananda Reddy on Thursday. She was in jail for 75 days.

MSR warns against delay on T-decision

Former PCC President M Satyanarayana Rao on Friday warned the Congress party against delay in formation of Telangana.

Talking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan after participating in the party’s Formation Day celebrations, MSR said that while the Seemandhra leaders have misled the Congress High Command, the Telangana Congress MPs have failed to impress upon the Centre over the Telangana issue. However, he warned that the Congress party would be wiped out of the region if it delays the decision on statehood issue further.

Betting racket on Indo-Pak T-20 Match busted in city

The City Police arrested one person for allegedly accepting bets on the Indo-Pak T-20 Match played on Tuesday.

According to police, on a tip off, the Mangalhaat police raided a premises on Tuesday night at Jungur Basti in Mangalhat and found the accused Udha Ram Singh alias Udesh accepting cricket betting. Further enquiries revealed by the police revealed that Udesh and Ravi Narayan alias Laddu were accepting the cricket betting over mobile phones. While the police arrested Udesh, Laddu managed to escape from the spot.

Makkah Masjid bomber arrested by NIA

The National Investigating Agency (NIA) has arrested the man said to be have planted the bomb at Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad in May 2007 that killed more than 13 people.

Tej Ram Parmar, 25, was arrested from Ujjain in Uttar Pradesh on Monday. He is a driver by profession, police said.

He is believed to be a member of Abhinav Bharat, the same group believed to be behind the Samjhauta Express blast which claimed 68 lives on February 18, 2007.

Hyderabad traffic police to crackdown on vehicles using dark films

Hyderabad Traffic Police (HTP) on Tuesday said it will launch second phase of crackdown on vehicles using dark film on windows and windshield by imposing hefty fines against violators.

The order of the Supreme Court regarding removal of black films from all motor vehicles was implemented in the city on October 25, and till date 51,753 cases have been registered, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) C V Anand said.

Telangana lawyers held for protest

Telangana lawyers who were on a chalo Sangareddy agitation to protest against the comments of local MLA Jagga Reddy were arrested by police and cases were foisted on them.

Nearly 50 High Court lawyers came in a procession to express their protest against Reddy for his uncharitable remarks but were stopped by police mid-way. After a scuffle and tense moments, the lawyers were taken to various police stations and serious non-bailable cases were foisted on them.

Fresh norms for recruitment of police constables

The Home department has issued orders amending the rules and regulations on the written examination conducted for recruitment of police constables in the State.

According to the order, the candidates for police constable posts would be selected on the basis of merit in the written examination after physical fitness. However, the order remained silent on the question of negative marks in the written examination.

The Home department has amended the guidelines of Police Stipendary Cadet Training of 1999.

The CCS sleuths of Saroornagar have apprehended all the seven accused, who had intruded into the house of one Akurathi Srinivas Rao at Sharada Nagar, Vanasthalipuram on the morning of October 19 this year and took away gold ornaments, silver articles and cash Rs 2,30,000 claiming themselves as IT officials. The sleuths cracked the mystery and recovered gold ornaments weighing 40 tolas, silver articles weighing 90 tolas and cash Rs 2,30,000. The value of the booty was Rs 15,00,000.

CM inspects gutted hangar at Begumpet airport

Chief Minister N.Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday evening visited the hangar at Begumpet Airport where a fire accident occurred on the late night of December 17.

TPJAC to observe “Betrayal Day” today

Telangana JAC Chairman Prof M Kodanaram has given a call to observe December 23 as a betrayal day and appealed to all political parties to cooperate in at the All-Party meeting scheduled for this month end at Delhi.

TDP asks Mayor to convene GHMC council meeting

The Telugu Desam Party on Saturday asked GHMC Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain to conduct the council meeting immediately.

In a representation given to the Mayor, TDP’s GHMC floor leader Singireddy Srinivas Reddy said that the GHMC’s council meeting should be convened immediately under Section 88 (D) to discuss in detail on the issues relating to Dengue and other contagious diseases, laying of roads, sanitation and other issues. He said that the TDP corporators have already submitted a representation on December 15 requesting for council’s meeting.
