Washington, May 30: US President Barack Obama will deliver his long-awaited speech to the Islamic world on 4 June in Cairo.
Already in his inaugural speech, he clearly stated the United States’ desire for a renewed relationship with the Muslim world, based on mutual interests and mutual respect.

Washington, May 30: The United States has condemned the terrorist attack on a mosque in Zahedan city of Iran, killing 19 people and injuring 125 others.
“No cause justifies terrorism, and the United States condemns it in any form, in any country, against any people,” the White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said on Friday in a statement, condemning the recent terrorist attacks inside Iran.
“The American people send their deepest condolences to the victims and their families,” Gibbs said.
New Delhi, May 30:Reliance Mutual Fund will shortly launch an Islamic fund in Malaysia, a top company official said.
“We have set up a subsidiary and it is launching an Islamic fund in Malaysia shortly,” Reliance Capital Asset Management CEO, Sundeep Sikka, told reporters on the sidelines of a press meet here.
The company now plans to open its first office in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
Reliance Capital, together with Kuwait’s Global Investment House, were given the nod last November by the Securities Commission (SC) to establish their Islamic fund management operations.

Hyderabad, May 30: The Andhra Pradesh government will further study the possibility of transferring 29 subjects to the Panchayat raj institutions as enshrined in the Constitution (73rd Amendment) Act.
“We have so far transferred about 11 subjects and conferred powers on the panchayat raj bodies to discharge those functions. We will have to study further into the issue of transferring more powers and funds to these institutions, AP’s new Panchayat Raj Minister Botsa Satyanarayana said on Friday.

Mumbai,May 29: The crime branch arrested a man who had come to sell 970 imported live cartridges at Null Bazaar in south Mumbai on Thursday.
The police are now trying to ascertain how Maqsood Zahid Khan (31), who trades utensils in exchange of old clothes, had come in possession of the bullets in their original sealed packaging.
Senior inspector of Unit 2 Mangesh Potte said on Wednesday, constables Anwar Memon and Irfan Shaikh received a tip-off that somebody wanted to sell bullets. Khan was arrested and 500 bullets seized from him.
Mumbai,May 29: In the wake of the Dharavi cylinder blast, which injured six children last week, the railway police busted a racket where gas from domestic LPG cylinders was filled into tins. These tins were sold to jewellery manufacturers in the suburbs.
Vikas Chaurasia (20) and Munna Sekhasaria (32) have been arrested. All railway policemen were on the alert for inflammable substances being carried on trains.

According to local newspaper for Indian community, South Asia Times, 25-year-old Rajesh Kumar was quickly covered by a blanket by his flatmate after the attack yesterday, an act which saved him from further injuries.

New Delhi,May 29: In a unique case where a woman has come to the defence of her daughter-in-law and demanded arrest of her son for assault and attempt to murder, police have registered a case against a resident of Farsh Bazaar in east Delhi for attempting to murder his wife. The case has been filed by the accused Sanjay’s (37), mother Kamlesh.
According to the police, Sanjay had a tiff with his wife Manju (34) over his drinking habits. The accused reportedly came home on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 pm after a binge drinking session and demanded lunch.
