Hyderabad, April 10: TheGovernment has prohibited fishing operations by mechanised fishing vessels.
Craft fitted with outboard as well as inboard engines will be banned in the territorial waters along the entire coast of Andhra Pradesh between April 15 and 31 May (both days inclusive).
The decision was taken following the Government of India’s directions on a uniform ban on fishing by all such vessels in the Indian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) beyond territorial waters on the East Coast.

Srikakulam, April 10: The notorious serial killer, 41-year-old T Ramarao aka Rudrakshapally killer, escaped from the Srikakulam district jail this afternoon by scaling the jail wall.
Ramarao, who had earlier escaped from the Nuzvid jail, was arrested by the Srikakulam police when he was selling stolen gold in Laveru mandal in 2009.
According to jail in-charge Ravulu Sriram, Ramarao, a remand prisoner, cut the bedsheet into pieces and made a long rope. With its help he climbed the 20-ft-tall wall between 1 pm and 1:30 pm.

Hyderabad, April 10: An analysis by the top brass of the Chhattisgarh police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the aftermath of the Dantewada bloodbath has found that the ambushed 62nd company of the CRPF did not even have scouts, who might have espied danger in time.
Scouts are usually a group of four jawans who are sent, alone or in groups of two, 150-200 metres ahead of the company to assess the lay of the land. In the event of an attack, it would be they who would have the first alert.

Hyderabad, April 09: Special court for economic offences here today posted six cases filed by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) against former directors of Satyam Computer Services Ltd in the multi-crore accounting scam to April 29 and the remaining one case to April 21.
The court ordered the investigation agency to produce all original documents seized by it in the court.
The counsel for SFIO requested the court for some time as all the original documents are in New Delhi.
The court granted time till April 21 to produce all original documents.
