Hyderabad, April 11: Defence Minister A.K. Antony said here on Saturday that economic growth of the country would be ensured only when its internal and external security was assured. He cautioned against lethargy in providing logistics to the armed forces, though they were fully prepared to meet any security challenges.
Speaking to scientists during his visit to Defence Electronics and Research Laboratory (DLRL) here, the Minister lauded the efforts of the laboratory in achieving indigenisation in the field of electronic warfare. He advised the scientists to keep user satisfaction in mind while working on new defence equipment and appreciated the achievements of the institution engaged in research and development of critical electronic warfare equipment.
He was accompanied by Scientific Advisor and Chief of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) V.K. Saraswat. Director of DLRL G. Boopathy, and other senior scientists working on strategic projects at DLRL guided the Minister through the defence laboratory.
