PRESERVING CHASTITY

Allaah, The Almighty, praises those who preserve their chastity and make this a means of success in the Hereafter; He Almighty Says (what means):

“Certainly will the believers have succeeded: They who are during their prayer humbly submissive. And they who turn away from ill speech. And they who are observant of Zakaah [obligatory charity]. And they who guard their private parts except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed – But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors.”
(Quran 23:1-7)

THE MONTH OF MUHARRAM

With the sighting of the new moon the Islamic new year is ushered in. The first month Muharram, is a month of great reward and virtue. Muharram itself means ‘sacred’ and is from those months which have been mentioned as sacred in the Holy Quraan.

Almighty Allah states in the Holy Quraan:

“Four of them ( Zil-Qadah, Zil-Hijjah, Muharram and Rajab) are sacred.”
(Surah At-Tawbah:36)

VIRTUES

From out of the four sacred months, Muharram has been blessed with certain specific virtues:-

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu-Alayhi-Wa Sallam) said:

DIFFERENT RANKS OF PEOPLE WHO FEAR ALLAH

The Companions, RadiyAllaahu Anhuma, and the Righteous pious Predecessors, were extremely fearful of Allah The Almighty. For instance, Ibn ‘Abbaas (RadiyAllahu Anhuma) had two dark lines under his eyes due to the extent of his crying; ‘Umar (RadiyAllahu Anhu) once recited some verses which caused him to fall ill out of anxiety.

THE WISDOM OF LUQMAN

Luqman [the wise] (alaihissalam) is a well-known sage, whose advice to his son has been mentioned in the Holy Qur’an. Luqman’s sayings and the words of advice he gave to his son, contain rare wisdom, and quite a number of Traditions refer to “Luqman’s advice to his son”.

One of these are: “O my dear son, sit in the company of the Ulema (religious scholars) frequently and listen carefully to what the wise men say, for Allah gives life to the dead hearts by the ‘Nur (light)’ of wisdom, just as He revives the dead earth by heavy life-giving rains.”

THE COMPANY WE CHOOSE TO KEEP

Allah has blessed me with many wonderful friendships throughout my life. Most have served as a comforting, healing balm that has pulled me through some of the more difficult times of my life. Others have created so much drama and turmoil that I couldn’t cut them loose fast enough!

PROTECT YOUR GAZE! – Inspiring and Touching Story Of Sahabi Talaba Abdul Rahman (RA)

Thalaba Ibn Abdul Rahman (RadiyAllahu Anhu) was a young man at the age of 16. He always ran errands for the prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam). One day while walking though the city of Medina, he passed by a house with an open door. Out of curiosity he took a glance inside. In this glance, he saw a light curtain being blown away from a bathroom entrance were a woman was bathing. He immediately lowered his gaze.

4 TIPS FOR RETURNING OUR HEARTS TO ALLAH

I was driving home from an appointment yesterday and something happened.

It’s not the first time it has happened, and it probably won’t be the last.

There was much on my mind, and even though I knew exactly what route I needed to take, I looked up and realized I had driven far past the place where I was supposed to turn.

Coupled with that realization was the question: Where was I?

THE STORY OF MIGRATION (HIJRAH) OF SUHAIB AR-RUMI (r.a.)

When we discuss about hijrah, the name Suhaib bin Sinan Ar-Rumi r.a. would often come to mind. Suhaib was a companion of Rasulullah s.a.w.s. He was a sahabah (companion) who was willing to leave behind his wealth for the sake of Allah s.w.t. and Rasulullah s.a.w.s.

ROAD TO SUCCESS

The Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) expressed this in a saheeh hadeeth (authentic report) in which he said:

“How wonderful is the situation of the believer, for all his affairs are good. If something good happens to him, he gives thanks for it and that is good for him; if something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience, and that is good for him. This does not apply to anyone but the believer.”
[Narrated by Muslim, no. 2999]

IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION IN ISLAM

When Prophet Adam (Alayhis Salaam) was created, he was exalted from all the other creations of Allah on the basis of Knowledge.

In Surat Al-Baqarah [2:31-34] Allah says:

MAKE YOUR MARK

When we’re little, our parents are our heroes. We look up to them and get impressed by everything they do. We watch their every move and try to mimic them. In our rooms, we play house; we pretend that we’re cooking, cleaning, even raising our own (Cabbage Patch) kids.

We’re amazed at how much they know and we’re impressed by all that they can do. We hope that we can be just like them when we’re grown up.

HOW A MUSLIM SHOULD BE?

The pure life led by each and every one of the Ashâb-i-kirâm (the Prophet’s companions) sets an example for us to follow. We should imitate them and try to deserve love of Allâhu ta’âlâ. A Muslim who follows in their footsteps will obey the commandments of Allâhu ta’âlâ and the laws of the state. It is sinful to disobey the commandments, and a crime to violate the law. A perfect Muslim will not commit sins or crimes. To be a ‘Muslim’ means to be a ‘good person’. He will know that Muslims are brothers. He will love his nation and his national flag.

Is a religious Muslim problematic?

The word “Islam” in Arabic means “self-devotion, submission, salvation,” as well as “peace.” Imam A’zam Abû Hanîfa (rahmatullahi ’alaih) has defined Islam as “submission and obedience to Allâhu ta’âlâ’s commandments.”

If the facts stated above are read carefully, it will automatically become clear how a Muslim should be. How Allâhu ta’âlâ likes His slaves to be is explained very well in the Qur’ân al-kerîm. The exalted meanings of verses 63-69 in Chapter Furqan are:

GOOD MANNERS: A KEY TO PARADISE

Say ‘please’, Amina.”

“Please, may I have…”

“Remember to say thank you!”

“Thank you..!”

The first social skills a little child is taught are more often than not, the magic words: “Please” and “Thank You”.

Why are parents so adamant to teach these few special words to their children?

Well, it is part and parcel of our fitrah (nature) to do right by our children and bestow them the best manners. And it also goes without saying that little children jump at this opportunity to be polite and well-mannered.

“Please!” they would chime loudly.

10 THINGS TO FOLLOW IN ISLAM FOR A BETTER LIFE IN THIS WORLD.

Islam is the perfect way of life for those who know it as it is and Quran is a guide for the whole humanity to have a better life in this world as well as in the Akhira (the hereafter). Following are the 10 interesting lessons we can learn from the Quran to live a good life InShaAllah:

THE MOST SELFISH ONE LETTER WORD: “I” – AVOID IT!

And he had property (or fruit) and he said to his companion, in the course of mutual talk: “I am more than you in wealth and stronger in respect of men.” [Surah Al-Kahf 18:34]

THE MOST SATISFYING TWO-LETTER WORD: “WE” – USE IT!

THE TESTS ARE THE RELIEF!

I am always asking: Why was I tested?

Quran answers: “Do men think that they will be left alone saying, ’We believe’, and that they will not be tested? We did test those before them, and Allaah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false.”
[29:2-3]

I am always asking: Why could I never get what I want?

Quran answers: ”It is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and that you love a thing, which is bad for you. But Allaah knows, while you know not.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah [2:216])

I am always asking: Why was I burdened this way?

WHY IS THE HEART SO IMPORTANT IN ISLAM

What will save us on the Day of Judgement? Are we favored based on our race or color? No. Then what is it? It is the place in our body which Allaah subhanahu wa ta’alaa made the location of the most valuable possession of a human being: Emaan (faith). It is your heart.

What favours you in the sight of Allaah subhanahu wa ta’alaa is the state of your heart. What will save you on the Day of Judgement is qalbun saleem – A Sound Heart.

Let’s get started and find out about the amazing position of the heart in Islam and learn the secrets of a productive heart.

LAYLATUL QADR – THE NIGHT OF POWER

Laylatul Qadr is the crowning glory of the holy month of Ramadan. It is associated with the sending down of the Qur’an the last Book of Allah on His last Prophet Muhammad (Sallallhu Alayhi Wa Sallam) for the guidance of mankind. The Qur’an describes this Night:

“We have indeed revealed this (message) in the Night of Power: And what will explain to you what the Night of Power is? The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. Therein come down the Angels and the Spirit (Gibraeel) by Allah’s permission, on every errand: Peace! This until the rise of Morn!”
(97:5).

ARROGANCE AND TYRANNY WILL NOT REMAIN UNPUNISHED

The Quran is a book of guidance. It is a road map to success and eternal happiness, a gift from the Creator to the creation. It is a book full of signs; God calls them evidences, proofs and lessons. They prove the existence of God and warn humankind of a Day of Judgement, when each one of us will stand before God weighed down, or held high, by our deeds.

SPITE

Spite is a heavy burden that the person carries which results in his own misery, occupies his thinking, ruins his mind and adds to his grief and anxiety. The strange thing is that ignorant people insist on carrying this heavy evil load, until they satisfy their ego and take revenge from the one whom they hate and envy.

Spite eats much of the virtue that might be in person’s heart and increases by growing on such virtue and thus causing it to eventually vanish.

THE MEANING OF SPITE:

12 WONDERS OF JAMA’AT

Jamm’at is when muslims gather to make salah in which one is the Imam who leads and the rest are muqtadee who follow him; there is great reward for jamm’at.

1) Sayeduna Anas (Radi Allahu anhu) narrates that the Beloved Prophet (Swall Allahu alaihi wasallam) said:

“Whoever reads Salah with Jamm’at for forty days with the first takbeer * ; two salvations will be written for him:
one from hell and one from hypocrisy.”

2) Sayeduna Abdullah bin Umar (Radi Allahu anhu) narrates that the Beloved Prophet (Swall Allahu alaihi wasallam) said:

A GOOD SEALING STATE: HUSN AL-KHATIMA – (2)

The Companions (RadiyAllahu Anhuma) knew the system of Allah and therefore always remained concerned, primarily about how they would be viewed by Allah regarding their actions. One of the greatest believers and close Companions of the Prophet (RadiyAllahu Anhu) was ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab (RadiyAllahu Anhu), who is considered the second greatest man after Abu Bakr (RadiyAllahu Anhu). ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab (RadiyAllahu Anhu) would often say, “Have I been regarded (by Allah) as a hypocrite?

A GOOD SEALING STATE: HUSN AL-KHATIMA – (1)

The final state of a person at the time of death is what matters in the Hereafter. In this article, we discuss some of the causes for both good and evil sealing states, and how a person’s inner traits will dominate at the time of death.

In a hadith transmitted by Ibn Abi ’al-Dunya in his Commanding the Good and Forbidding Evil from Abu Umama (RadiyAllahu Anhu) the Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said to his Companions (Allah be pleased with them):
