ROAD TO SUCCESS

The Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) expressed this in a saheeh hadeeth (authentic report) in which he said:

“How wonderful is the situation of the believer, for all his affairs are good. If something good happens to him, he gives thanks for it and that is good for him; if something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience, and that is good for him. This does not apply to anyone but the believer.”
[Narrated by Muslim, no. 2999]

The Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) told us that the believer is always gaining and the reward for his deeds is always multiplying, no matter what happens to him, good or bad.

Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him.”
(Al-Talaq 65:3)

i.e., He will be sufficient for all that is worrying him in his spiritual and worldly affairs

He also knows that Allah has guaranteed complete sufficiency to those who put their trust in Him. So he trusts in Allah and finds peace of mind in His promise, and thus his worry and anxiety are dispelled; hardship is turned to ease, sadness is turned to joy, fear is turned to peace. We ask Allah to keep us safe and sound, and to bless us with strength and steadfastness of heart, and complete trust, for Allah has guaranteed all good things to those who put their trust in Him, and has guaranteed to ward off all bad and harmful things from them.

Muslims believe in the following Prophet’s (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) virtuous teachings:

Abu Hurairah (r.a.) narrated that the Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said:

“Riches does not mean, having a great amount of property, but riches is self-contentment.”
[Bukhari, 8/ 453]

Abu Said Al-Khudri (RadiyAllahu Anhu) narrated that some Ansari persons asked for (something) from Allah’s Messenger (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) and he gave them. They again asked him for (something) and he again gave them. And then again they asked him and he gave them till all that was with him finished. And then he said:

“If I had anything, I would not keep it away from you. (Remember) Whoever abstains from asking others, Allah will make him contented, and whoever tries to make himself self-sufficient, Allah will make him self-sufficient. And whoever remains patient, Allah will make him patient. Nobody can be given a blessing better and greater than patience.”
[Bukhari 2/ 548]

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (r.a.) narrated that he heard Allah’s Messenger (s.a.w.s.) saying:

“Whoever centers all his thoughts upon one object, viz. the thought of the Hereafter, Allah will provide him with the worldly needs, and he whose whole distraction is worldly ends, Allah does not care in what wilderness of the world he perishes.”
[Tirmidhi 263 and Ibn Majah]

Anas bin Malik and Zayd bin Thabit (RadiyAllahu Anhuma) narrated that the Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said:

“If anyone’s intention is to seek the hereafter, Allah will place His sufficiency in his heart and order his affairs, and the world will come to him submissively; but if anyone’s intention is to seek worldly good Allah will place poverty before him and disorder his affairs, and only so much of it as has been ordained for him will come to him.”
[Tirmidhi 5320, Ahmad and Darimi]

“Successful indeed are the believers — those who humble themselves in their prayers… and who (strictly) guard their prayers. These will be the heirs, who will inherit Paradise. They will dwell therein forever.”
(Qur’an 23:9-11)

“Verily, those who believe (in Allah and His Messenger) and do righteous deeds they are the best of creatures. Their reward is with Allah: Gardens of Eternity Beneath which rivers flow. They will dwell therein for ever. Allah well pleased with them and they with Him — all this for such as fear their Rabb and Cherisher.”
(Qur’an 98:7-8)

Suhayb ibn Sinan Ar-Rumi narrated that Allah’s Messengerr (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said:

“When those deserving of Paradise would enter Paradise, the Blessed and the Exalted would ask: ‘Do you wish Me to give you anything more?’

They would say:
‘Have You not brightened our faces? Have You not made us enter Paradise and saved us from Fire?’

He (SAWS) said: “He (Allah) would lift the veil, and of things given to them nothing would be dearer to them than the sight of their Rabb, the Mighty and the Glorious.’”
[Muslim 347]

Abu Dharr (r.a.) narrated that Allah’s Messenger (s.a.w.s.) said to him:

“You are not better than people with red or black skins unless you excel them in piety.”
[Tirmidhi 5198 and Ahmad]

Abdullah Bin Mas’ud (r.a.) narrated that Allah’s Messenger (s.a.w.s.) said:

“Allah Most High has allotted you your characters just as He has allotted you your provisions. Allah Most High gives worldly things to those whom He loves and those whom He does not love, but He gives religion only to those whom He loves, so he who is given religion by Allah has been loved by Him. By Him in Whose hand my soul is, a man is not a Muslim till his heart and tongue are submissive, and he is not a believer till his neighbor is safe from injurious behavior on his part.”
[Tirmidhi 4994]

“Say: ‘O you my servants who believe! Fear your Rabb. Good is (the reward) for those who do good in this world. Spacious is Allah’s earth! Those who patiently persevere will truly receive a reward without measure.’”
(Qur’an 39:10)

Shaddad and as-Sunabihi (r.a.) narrated that … Allah’s Messenger (s.a.w.s.) said:

“Allah who is Great and Glorious says, ‘When I afflict a servant of Mine who is a believer and he praises Me, for the affliction I have brought upon him; he will rise from that couch of his as sinless as he was the day his mother gave birth to him.’ The Rabb, Who is Blessed and Exalted, will say, ‘I fettered and afflicted My servant, so record for him what you were recording for him when he was well.'”
[Tirmidhi 1579 and Ahmad]
