Sameera Reddy was recently spotted at the Anemia Camp organised by “Let’s be well Red” project in Mumbai.

The newly married actress, who was dressed elegantly in a formal black skirt and a cropped top, said that the campaign is very close to her heart because majority of Indian women suffer from iron deficiency, and she was one of them.

“We feel fatigue, tired; there are a lot of other issues involved specially during pregnancy. In general I think awareness is very important and I love the fact that we are actually doing something like this”, added Reddy. (ANI)

Babul Supriyo threatens action over medical test demand

Bollywood singer Babul Supriyo, the BJP candidate from Asansol who was accused of entering a temple in a drunken state, Thursday said he was mulling legal action after the complainants approached the administration seeking his medical examination.

A police complaint was filed earlier this week by the Asansol Citizens’ Forum accusing Supriyo of hurting religious sentiments by entering a temple in a drunken state during his campaign.

I want to see myself on screen: Manisha Koirala

Actress Manisha Koirala says she is looking forward to make a comeback in films but is not interested in doing small roles.

Manisha, 43, is known for her performance in films like ‘Khamoshi’, ‘1942: A Love Story’, ‘Bombay’, and ‘Dil Se’ among others.

“I want to see myself on screen… I want to be back. I do get offers. I get roles like important one’s in the film but I am there for two scenes or so…I don’t want that. I am waiting for a good director and a good role,” Manisha told reporters here at an event.

No good roles penned for Indians in Hollywood: Imran

Actor Imran Khan, who has lent his voice to a character in the Hindi version of animation film ‘Rio 2’, says he is not keen on acting in Hollywood as not many good roles are written for Indian actors there.

“I absolutely have no interest in working in Hollywood. I think you (Indian actors) get to be the nurse, someone who repairs computer or hero’s roommate, etc. I think they (Hollywood filmmakers) don’t write good roles for Indians,” Imran told PTI in an interview.

Director David Dhawan teamed up with his actor son Varun for the first time in “Main Tera Hero” and gets sentimental about the filial bonding.

He says that the film has not only strengthened their bonding, Varun also saved his life during the Bangkok shoot.

“Directing Varun has brought us closer together. During a schedule in Bangkok when I took ill, I could feel Varun’s panic,” said the director informing that it was a reaction to medicines that almost killed him in Bangkok.

Sidharth plans to fly down to Delhi to vote

(IANS) Model-turned-actor Sidharth Malhotra, who is from Delhi, says he will cast his vote if he gets time and urged youngsters to participate in the elections and exercise their voting rights.

The 29-year-old, seen in films “Student of The Year” and “Hasee Toh Phasee”, currently lives in Mumbai to pursue his Bollywood career.

“If I will get the time, I would want to go to Delhi to cast my vote as my voting card is from Delhi,” Sidharth told reporters here Tuesday at the red carpet of the Mijwan Fashion show.

Challenging to pull off horror-comedies: Deekay

Debutant director Deekay, who is awaiting the release of his Tamil horror-comedy “Yaamirukka Bayamey”, says being able to strike a balance between the two genres has been challenging.

“Horror comedies are not easy to pull off because you need to know how to strike a balance between the two genres. You need to know where to shock the audience with a jolt of horror and where to make them laugh. When you overdo it, the audience loses interest in the film,” Deekay told IANS.

Pornography should not be for the sake of it: ‘Mastram’ director

Akhilesh Jaiswal has embarked on a filmmaking journey with “Mastram”, a fictional biography of the well-known Hindi erotica writer. The director, who has tried to strike the right balance with adult content and aesthetics, hopes the censor clears his directorial debut with A-certificate without any cuts.

“I am hoping that there won’t be any sort of problems with the censor board. And, hopefully, the film will get an A-certificate without any cuts,” Jaiswal told IANS in an email interview.

Shah Rukh not to be a part of ‘Koffee with Karan’ this time

‘Anjaan’ shoot not disrupted by protesters: Producer

Producer N. Subhash Chandra Bose says that the shoot of Suriya-starrer Tamil actioner “Anjaan” was halted, but was not disrupted as rumoured. He says everything is under control and the shoot is progressing smoothly.

On Sunday, members of the Tamil fringe groups came to meet N. Linguswamy, director of “Anjaan”, and requested him to stop the screening of his recently distributed Tamil film “Inam” which revolves around a group of orphans during the Sri Lankan civil war.

Former Bollywood actress Moon Moon Sen Tuesday launched her campaign as the Trinamool Congress candidate from the Bankura Lok Sabha constituency.

The daughter of Bengali screen icon Suchitra Sen, who passed away early this year, the Oxford educated Sen sought blessings at a mosque as well as a temple in Metia Narayanpur village in Bankura district.

Known as “Suchitra Sen er meye (Suchitra’s daughter)” in the interiors, her calm demeanour was in sharp contrast to the aggressive body language of battle-hardened politicos as she interacted with residents in her constituency.

I get traumatized dancing on screen: Ileana D’Cruz

Actress Ileana D’ Cruz, who has grooved with Varun Dhawan in “Main Tera Hero”, says dancing on screen makes her feel “traumatised”.

“I get traumatized dancing on screen…I get so self-conscious as I am not a dancer. I get very nervous, but I can dance well the minute I am not stressed,” Ileana said here in an interaction.

She says Varun made her feel “very comfortable” throughout the shooting of the film, which is directed by Varun’s father David Dhawan.

Riding bike was tough: Ekta Kapoor

Varun Dhawan took his film’s co-producer Ekta Kapoor for a bike ride to promote their film “Main Tera Hero” Monday. But thanks to her fear of two-wheelers, she found the experience tough.

Her fear has to do with an incidence in her childhood days.

“It was very tough because I have not even sat on a cycle in my life…I did twice as a child and it (the cycle) fell on both the occasions. My father used to hold the cycle and balance it. The moment he left the cycle, the cycle fell and I fell too,” the 38-year-old said here after riding pillion.

Court fines Suniel Shetty Rs.20,000 for non-appearance

A court here Monday imposed a fine of Rs. 20,000 on Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty after he failed to appear before it in a defamation case.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Savitri allowed the actor’s plea seeking exemption from personal appearance but directed him to pay a fine of Rs. 20,000 for his failure to appear in the court.

The court also told the actor to appear on the next date without any fail.

HC to hear plea against Amitabh starrer ‘Bhootnath Returns’

The Delhi High Court today agreed to hear tomorrow a plea of a Hindi writer against Amitabh Bachchan-starrer horror comedy film ‘Bhootnath Returns’ claiming that the flick is based on his literary works.

A bench comprising acting Chief Justice B D Ahmed and Justice Siddharth Mridul ordered the listing of the appeal for hearing tomorrow after the counsel for Sushant Supriya, Hindi short story writer and poet, said the film, scheduled to hit theatres across the country on April 11, is based on his work.

Haven’t found wide acceptance: Neha Sharma on Bollywood

Neha Sharma, who started her career with southern films, has done a couple of Hindi movies but she still feels like an outsider in Bollywood and says “no one is your friend here”.

She was seen in the films “Crook”, “Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum” and the recently released “Youngistaan”.

“I don’t think I’ve found wide acceptance. I don’t even think the big banners know about me. But I am still trying to find my bearings around here,” said the 26-year-old Bihari girl.
