Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has been chosen to endorse online shopping portal Yepme.com.

When Farhan was chosen as the brand ambassador of portal, the creative team was keen to discuss and share the storyboard with him for his inputs, said a statement.

The team will be using the song “Tension kyun lete ho”, composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy as the jingle, as suggested by the actor.

The lyrics of the song are written by Farhan himself.

Animation films hit by budget roadblocks in India: Sonakshi

Actress Sonakshi Sinha feels that animation films are yet to take off in India primarily due to budget constraints.

“I think animation films abroad have taken off on good way since 12-15 years or so. May be here nobody has taken that seriously or not got into it seriously. We have the potential to make good animation films,” Sonakshi, 26, said.

“But I think we are lacking in terms of budget. We don’t have budget to make films on that level yet,” she added.

The Bollywood actress recently dubbed for the character of Jewel in Hollywood film “Rio 2”, a sequel to the 2011 hit animation film.

“I am very happy working here. If I get an opportunity to work in Hollywood, I would love to work with George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise,” Sonakshi told reporters here Monday at the screening of “Rio 2” that she had organised for underprivileged children of Smile Foundation.

Sonakshi Sinha fond of animation films

Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who has dubbed for the Hindi version of Hollywood animation film “Rio 2”, says such works have always caught her fancy.

“I have not grown up on movies. I didn’t watch much films in my childhood but I was fond of animation films,” Sonakshi told reporters here Monday at the screening of “Rio 2” that she had organised for underprivileged children of Smile foundation.

“Till today I am fond of such films. You can see I am a part of ‘Rio 2’. I am very excited. In fact, I have come along with my team to watch this film,” she added.

Bhagat considering sequel to his book ‘2 States’

Chetan Bhagat’s novel “2 States” has been adapted into a film and the author now has plans to come out with a sequel to his story about the romantic journey of a culturally opposite couple.

“I really consider doing a sequel to ‘2 States’ but I am not doing it right now. I have never done a sequel to any of my books but I thought this one could make it,” the 39-year-old said here Monday at the launch of the new cover of “2 States.”

“I have the tagline for it ‘Getting married was the easy part’,” he added.

Bhagat wants to take out more pages of his life for his future books.

Anushka Sharma wraps up ‘Bombay Velvet’

Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma became emotional after wrapping up the shooting of Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’ here.

The film is a drama film based on ‘Mumbai Fables’, a semi-fictional study of Bombay in 1960s by eminent historian and Princeton University’s history professor Gyan Prakash.

The entire unit gathered with a bottle of champagne, bunch of flowers after Anushka completed the shoot.

Anushka, 25, plays a jazz singer in the film, which took one and a half years to complete.

Sonakshi Sinha, who has lent her voice to the Hindi dubbed version of ‘ Rio 2’, recently hosted a special screening of the flick for the children of Smile foundation in Mumbai.

On the occasion, the 26-year-old actress said that she feels great when they invite so many kids and a small gesture like this can make them so happy.

Actress Alia Bhatt chose to remain silent when asked to confirm whether she is working with Shahid Kapoor in Vikas Bahl’s next project “Shaandaar” and says that she would love to work with the actor in future.

When asked if she was paired opposite Shahid in “Shaandaar”, she said: “…Shahid is a fantastic actor and a dancer. He is one of the best dancers we have..I would love to work with him in future.”

The film is slated to go on the floors in August.

Film direction not on Akshay Kumar’s mind

Action star Akshay Kumar is busy producing films, but says he has no interest in donning a director’s hat in the future.

He was present at the trailer launch of the film “Fugly”, which he has produced with Ashwini Yardi under their Grazing Goat Pictures banner.

Asked if he ever plans to turn to direction, he said: “I don’t want to go into direction, I am happy where I am. I don’t want to direct even. Why should I do anything that I don’t know?”

Australian designer creates sari for Vidya Balan

Actress Vidya Balan has become Bollywood’s quintessential ambassador of the sari, and when an Australian designer was asked to create an ensemble for her, she couldn’t think beyond the six-yard wonder either.

As part of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2014, festival ambassador Vidya did a photoshoot with celebrated Australian designer Susan Dimasi.

Dimasi presented Vidya in a special sari, the fabric of which was specially designed by her. The sari was the result of handweaving a textile with silk ribbon through a rubber net.

‘Revolver Rani’ is total pulp: Kangana

Actress Kangana Ranaut says her next movie “Revolver Rani” has the flavour of a pulp fiction novel by Hindi writer Ved Prakash Sharma.

Talking about the movie, Kangana said: “This is actually a character of a neurotic and the woman who we are going to see and the film that we are going to see is very exciting just like Ved Prakash Sharma’s novels that you find on railway stations. That’s the kind of treatment the film is carrying.”

“It’s very exciting. Its total pulp. The woman is negative, brutal and very exciting,” added the star of latest hit “Queen”.

Suneel Sinha to enter ‘Beintehaa’

Actor Suneel Sinha will soon be seen essaying a pivotal role in popular primetime show “Beintehaa”.

His entry on the show will be telecast Monday.

The show will feature a sequence where character Zain’s parents Osman and Suraiyya will be seen on a mission solving the mystery surrounding the disappearance of their daughter, Barkat.

Suneel will portray Osman’s estranged friend Mir Khan, who holds the key to Barkat’s secret and is the only one who can help Osman and Suraiyya to trace their daughter, said a statement.

Pak court orders case against actress Meera for sex tape

A Pakistani court today directed police to register a case against film actress Meera and her husband in connection with their alleged sex video.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Safdar Bhatti issued the order after neither Meera nor her husband Navid Shahzad appeared before the court for the consecutive third hearing.

“A case should be registered against the couple in accordance with law and investigate their objectionable video,” the order says.

‘Main Tera Hero’ crosses Rs.20 crore mark

Varun Dhawan-starrer “Main Tera Hero” has earned over Rs.20 crore in its opening weekend.

The entertainer has collected a whopping net amount of Rs.22.73 crore in its opening weekend, said a statement.

Directed by David Dhawan and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, actor Tusshar Kapoor is happy with the figures as the movie performed well despite the World Twenty20 final between India and Sri Lanka in Bangladesh April 6.
