Chennai, June 09: A 27-year-old woman, who suffered burns after her husband’s uncle poured hot oil on her last month in Mangadu, died at the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital (KMCH) on Saturday.
According to the police, Nithya married Selvamani 10 years ago and they lived in Ranganathapuram, Mangadu, with their three children. Selvamani’s parents had passed away and his only close relative was Mahalingam, his father’s brother. Both lived in the same compound.
Hyderabad, June 09: Four students died and two others suffered serious burns in a fire at their teacher’s house in Mayapatnam village in U Kothapalli mandal in East Godavari district. Electric short circuit is said to be the reason behind the fire.
While two students died on the spot, two others succumbed to burns at the government general hospital on Monday. Sources said the short circuit caused by loose wiring in a TV set spread to the false ceiling of a wedding pandal in the house where the students and the teacher slept late on Sunday night.
Hyderabad, June 09: A second-year MCA student committed suicide after he was allegedly ragged by his seniors in the college. The body of D Devender Kumar was found on the railway tracks at Dharmaram in Geesukonda mandal of Warangal district in the early hours of Monday.
The deceased, a native of Choppadandi village in Karimnagar district, was a student of Vasavi engineering college at Ibrahimbagh in Hyderabad.

London, June 09: Former Pakistan President General Parvez Musharraf has conceded that his country’s Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) maintains link with militant commanders like Sirajuddin Haqqani, suspected of having masterminded the attack on the Indian embassy in Kabul.
Musharraf said that ISI had “used Haqqani’s influence” to get Pakistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, who was abducted by Tehrik-e-Taliban chief Baitullah Mehsud, released.

Rajsekhar who was injured during the attack on Sakshi Telugu Daily office at Tadipatri Anantapur was admitted into Apollo DRDO Hospital at Kanchanbagh. But today night he sucummbed to his injuries.
It may be remembered that followers of a former minister attacked the telugu daily office at Tadipatri and the police have already arrested three accused persons in this regard.

Srinagar, June 08: The Forensic Sciences Laboratory on Sunday confirmed that the two women who died under suspicious circumstances at Shopian had been sexually assaulted before they died.The police have registered a First Information Report under Section 376 of the Ranbir Penal Code.
Police sources told The Hindu that the report by the FSL confirmed that Neelofar (22), who was pregnant, and Asiya (17) were sexually assaulted before their death last week. “Spermatozoa detected,” reads the report given by the experts.

Srinagar, June 08: A bus veered off a mountain road in Kashmir and fell into a river, killing at least 21 people, police said on Monday.
The driver lost control of the vehicle on Sunday while negotiating a bend and the bus rolled into the Chenab river about 170 km away from Jammu, police and witnesses said.
“Nobody has been traced from the river till this morning,” a police spokesman said.
In another accident on Sunday, three people were killed when a minibus plunged into a river in Doda district.

Dhaka, June 08: After exposing Dawood’s network on its land, Bangladesh does not seem to be eager to handover the detainees to India and may ask for the Bangaldeshi terrorists arrested by Indian investigation agencies, according to reports.
Bangladesh police had recently arrested three Dawood gang members namely Zahid, Abdul Rauf and Aarif.
Indian security agencies are expected to seek the deportation of these Dawood aides as the latter has many cases pending against him in India.
