Scores of youth residing in Bahadurpura, led by Mr. M A Basith, ex-corporator and vice president Greater Hyderabad Telugu Desam Party called on Mr. Zahid Ali Khan editor Siasat and politburo member TDP at Siasat office and joined TDP. They pledged that they will work unitedly to strengthen TDP in Bahadurpura assembly constituency and to solve municipal, water and electricity problems.

Nirmal Khatri appointed UP Congress chief

Veteran Congress member Nirmal Khatri has been appointed Uttar Pradesh Congress president, replacing Rita Bahuguna Joshi, who had put in her papers after the party put up a poor show in the March state assembly polls.

Khatri, who represents Faizabad in parliament, was appointed to the post Monday night, party leaders said.

Khatri, 61, belongs to the traditional Vaish business community and is considered uncontroversial. He is known to be close to both Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son, party general secretary Rahul Gandhi.

`Heroine` makers move court on smoking scene rider

The makers of Bollywood film ‘Heroine’, starring Kareena Kapoor, Monday moved the Delhi High Court against the information and broadcasting ministry`s order to display anti-smoking messages during smoking scenes in the movie.

The film is scheduled to be released Sep 21.

Justice Rajiv Shakdher issued notice to the information and broadcasting and health ministries and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and sought their responses by Sep 10.

The CBFC was also directed to view the movie and file a report in sealed cover on next date of hearing.

Construction of Urdu Ghar and Function Hall at Moti Gali to be finished next month

Urdu Ghar and Function Hall constructed by Andhra Pradesh State Urdu Academy at Moti Gali in the old city of Hyderabad, which were under construction for the last 18 years are likely to be completed till the end of next month. The inauguration of Urdu Ghar and function Hall is likely to be conducted in the beginning of October.

Government of Andhra Pradesh had allocate 2300 sqyd land for the purpose, during TDP rule, by issuing GO MS no. 141, dated September 4, 1998 and the construction work began in 1999 but was carried out at snail’s pace.

BJP opposes mechanical slaughter houses

BJP has vehemently criticized state government’s decision of calling foreign tenders, for the establishment of mechanical slaughter houses and special export of meat, and claimed that this will not only affect the employment of local butchers but will also have effect on the economy.

Speaking at a press conference here senior leaders of the party G Kishan Reddy, NVVS Prabhakar, Laeq Ali Khan told that with the establishment of mechanical slaughter house the employment of local meat sellers and other businessmen will get affected.

Three family members drowned

Three members of a family drowned while trying to rescue their cow, which had slipped into a tank here, an official said Monday.

Dharamveer (30), his two nephews Yatendra (29) and Satyapal (27), entered the tank after the cow fell into it in Nagla Chaudhary village at Sadabad area yesterday, Sub Divisional Magistrate Nanku Ram said.

When the trio did not come out for long, a rescue operation was launched and their bodies fished out from the tank, he said.

12-year-old boy beaten, shot dead

A 12-year-old boy was allegedly beaten and shot dead today by unidentified assailants in Majid Nagar area in the district, police said.

Shoaib was beaten before being shot dead when he was out playing with his friends, they said.

Some people in the area have been detained for questioning, they said, adding investigations were on in the matter.

Hajj pilgrims’ flight schedule released

(Siasat News) The flight schedule of the Hajj Pilgrims going through A.P. State Hajj Committee has been released.

As per the schedule, the pilgrims will proceed to Saudi Arabia for performing Hajj by 26 flights from 6th October to 19th October 2012. This includes jumbo flights which will carry 4502 Hajj pilgrims.

From 10th October to 17th October, there are three daily flights. The Hajj committee will have tough time in arranging the departures of Hajj pilgrims during this period and also in making arrangements for their accommodation in Hajj house.

C.M. meets Governor

(Siasat NewS) Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, C.M. of A.P. met Mr. ESL Narasimhan, Governor of A.P. The meeting continued for about 90 minutes. C.M. met him after coming back from New Delhi. It is presumed that issues like energy crisis, resignation of Mr. Dharmavaram Prasada Rao, Minister for Roads and Buildings must have been discussed in this meeting. C.M. informed the Governor that he has sought the Legal opinion on the resignation of Mr. Dharmana Prasada Rao. Congress Party high command has left it to the discretion of the C.M. Ranga Reddy District Collector takes charge

(Siasat NewS) Ms. Vani Prasad took charge as Collector, Ranga Reddy District yesterday relieving Mr. V. Seshadri who has been transferred. Earlier, Ms. Vani Prasad worked as Collector, West Godavari and Chief Rationing Officer, Hyderabad.

Mr. V. Seshadri, former collector of R.R. District is transferred and posted as Collector of Visakhapetnam District.

New Railway Station to be named as “Jan Pahad Dargah”

(Siasat News) Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has consented to name to new railway station between Vishupuram and Jan Pahad as “Jan Pahad Dargah”.

He has also issued orders for releasing Rs. 80 crore more for land acquisition for the development of Rajahmundry Airport.

He issued orders for giving scales to Municpal teachers on par with Govt. teachers with effect from 2009.

He instructed A.P.P.S.C. to recruit technical assistants in the Dept. of Handlooms and Textiles. He agreed to fill up vacant posts of Assistant Engineers in A.P.C.P.D.C.

Narendra Modi detractor Sanjay Joshi in Gujarat

Former BJP general secretary and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s bete noire Sanjay Joshi arrived here on Monday, triggering speculation in political circles in the poll-bound state.

He visited Vadodara, Bharuch, Narmada and Kaira districts of Central Gujarat and met some bereaved families, and also workers of RSS and BJP.

The RSS functionary, however, maintained that there was no political motive behind his visit.

Joshi said, “I visited Rajpipla (headquarter of Narmada district) and met BJP MP Mansukh Vasava, who lost his mother recently and condoled her death.

Five Somali kids killed in school bombing

At least five children died and a dozen others were injured when a bomb exploded at a school in Somalia, an official said.

The attack took place Monday in the Middle Shabelle region of central Somalia, regional governor Abdi Jinow Alasow told Radio Mogadishu.

The explosion occurred when the students were playing.

“There was a heavy explosion, we believe caused by an explosive device that they had been playing with,” said Alasow.

“At least five children have died and more than 10 others were injured,” he said.

Bipasha in ‘No Entry Mein Entry’?

“No Entry” director Anees Bazmee says he is considering roping in Bipasha Basu as the 10th actress for “No Entry Mein Entry”, the sequel to the 2005 comedy film.

“We are considering Bipasha for a prominent role in the film, but nothing has been finalised yet,” Bazmee told IANS.

“In the first film, her role almost came to an end. (So) We are thinking how to cast her in this film,” he added.

Earlier, the director had said there will be nine ladies playing key roles in “No Entry Mein Entry”. But if Bipasha comes on board, it will be a total 10 females.

Shaan turns actor, finds dancing tough

Singer Shaan is turning actor with “Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya”, but admits he has two left feet when it comes to dancing.

“We have shot one song and the thing I was most scared of is coming true – that I am unable to dance properly,” the 39-year-old said here Sunday on the sets of the movie, in which he plays Balwinder Singh.

However, Punjabi singer Mika, who also plays a character of the same name in the film, is finding it easy to dance.
