Greek PM backs down on handful of bailout creditors’ demands

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is insisting on a handful of changes on the bailout creditors’ conditions offered last weekend that may thwart a deal, according to a letter that he sent last night.

According to Financial Times, the two-page letter elaborates on Tuesday’s surprise request for an extension of Greece’s now-expired bailout and for a new, third rescue worth 29.1 billion pounds.

The letter was sent to the heads of the European Commission, International Monetary Fund and European Central Bank.

Lakhvi exempted from in-person appearance in 26/11 attack case

A Pakistani anti-terrorism court today exempted the mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai attack Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi from appearing in-person after the LeT operations commander cited “serious threats to his life.”

“The trial court (Anti-Terrorism Court Islamabad) has exempted Lakhvi from in person appearance in the court on security grounds,” Raja Rizwan Abbasi, Lakhvi’s consel, told PTI after the hearing.

“The court has admitted Lakhvi’s application after the report of Islamabad Inspector General that he (Lakhvi) is facing serious threats to his life,” Abbasi said.

Charges are politically motivated, says Pankaja Munde

Terming as a “scam of words” the charges against her, Maharashtra minister Pankaja Munde, under fire for alleged irregularities in purchase of items worth Rs 206 crore, today said that similar items were procured at a higher price during the previous Congress-NCP rule.

Apple has launched Apple Music which is now available for download using the iOS 8.4 update.

Apple Music is a built-in part of its iOS 8.4 Music app for iPhone and iPad devices.

Gmail’s latest update will add wallpapers, emoji

Google has announced a latest update of Gmail with some new features.

According to the Techcrunch.com, the new features will include hundreds of themes and give users new ways to customize them with blur, vignettes and custom text.

Google announced the changes in a blog post.

Earlier, the catalog only featured a couple dozen themes including those that were plain colors only. The new catalog will increase Gmail themes, including more high resolution options.
