Broad heroics ensure England matches New Zealand’s first innings total
Stuart Broad’s heroics on the crease ensured that England matched New Zealand’s first innings total of 350 on the third day of the second test match at Headingley.
After an overnight score of 253 runs for the loss of five wickets, England looked to be in danger of a major collapse as the hosts lost three quick wickets, the scorecard reading 267/8. However, Broad forged partnerships first with Mark Wood and then with James Anderson to ensure that England staggered to 350 all out.
