If marriage has a positive influence on health and life expectancy, as generally assumed, then why do couples gain weight after tying the knot? Blame it on their lifestyle.

According to a study spanning across nine European countries, researchers have found that married couples on average eat better than singles, but weigh significantly more and do less sport.

They found that married men were more likely than single men to buy organic and fair trade food.

Ghee- 1tbsp Oil- 3tbsp
Tomatoes- 2 (chopped)

Red chilli powder- 1tbsp
Cumin powder- 1tbsp
Garam masala powder- 2tsp
Mutton kheema- 750 grams
Salt- as per taste

1. Chop the boiled eggs into small pieces (roughly the size of cherries).

Shashi Tharoor to undergo polygraph test

Police’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) is expected to conduct a polygraph test on Congress leader Shashi Tharoor in connection with the death case of his wife Sunanda Pushkar, a report said on Tuesday.

Earlier this month, polygraph test of six persons was conducted in connection with the high-profile murder case.

Police sources said the test was conducted on Tharoor’s domestic help Narayan Singh, his driver Bajrangi and his friend Sanjay Dewan.

Three other people – SK Sharma, Vikas Ahlawat and Sunil Takru – have also undergone the lie detector test in connection with the case.

Potato Mince Cutlets

Ingredients:
*200 gm mince
*1 onion, finely chopped
*1/2 tsp ginger paste
*1/2 tsp garlic paste
*1 boiled potato, mashed
*1 eggs
*3 green chilies
*1 cup Water
*1 tsp red chili powder
*1/2 tsp all spice
*1 tsp salt
*1 tbsp coriander leaves
*oil for frying

Method:

*Place mince in a large pot or skillet.
*Add water, ginger garlic paste, green chilies, red chili, onion and salt.
*Cook for 20 minutes or until mince is tender.
*Let it cool for 10 minutes.
*Then place in chopper with coriander leaves, all spice, potato and 1 egg.
Mix well.

4 to 5 green chilies
1 cup water
½ cup oil
¼ bunch fresh coriander
1 medium piece of ginger, sliced
1 tsp. hot spices powder
1 tbsp. crushed cumin
1 tbsp. crushed coriander
2 tbsp. red chili flakes
3 tbsp. ginger, garlic paste

Heat ½ cup oil and add 3 tbsp. ginger garlic paste and kg chicken cut into pieces to a pan and sauté it.

1 medium sized cucumber – diced
1 medium sized onion – diced
2 medium sized tomatoes – diced
½ cup extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon of mustard

HC allows Nestle to export Maggi though ban continues in India

The Bombay High Court today allowed Nestle India to export Maggi noodles after Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) said it had no objection to the company selling the product abroad though it stood by its decision to ban nine variants of the food snack in the country for being hazardous to public health.

“Why blame us…If the company claims that its product is safe and follows the safety standards then let them export it instead of destroying,” FSSAI counsel Mahmood Pracha argued before a bench of Justices V M Kanade and B P Colabawala.

Consumption of sugary drinks may lead to diabetes, heart disease, and cancers and an estimated 184,000 adult deaths each year worldwide, shows a study by a team of researchers led by an Indian American.

In the first detailed global report on the impact of sugar-sweetened beverages, researchers estimated deaths and disabilities caused by diabetes, heart disease, and cancers in 2010.

Student of Sri Chaitanya College commits suicide

A student of Sri Chaitanya College hanged himself to death at his residence in Bachupally under Dundigal police station limits, on Monday.

According to police, 18-year-old Ch Om Prakash, R/O Bachupally committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at his residence.

Deceased’s father says the reason behind suicide could be depression. The body has been shifted to Gandhi mortuary for postmortem.

Former Minister of State for Coal Dasari Narayan Rao, an accused in Jharkhand’s Amarkonda Murgadangal coal block allocation scam case, today said that decisions to allocate coal blocks were taken by then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who was also heading the Coal Ministry at that time.

“I was only the Minister of State. All powers for allocating coal blocks are of the Coal Minister and the then Coal Minister was Manmohan Singh. All the decisions were taken by the then Prime Minister Singh,” Rao told reporters outside the Patiala House courts here.

In ‘first’, IS beheads two women in Syria: monitor

The Islamic State group has beheaded two women in Syria on accusations of “sorcery,” the first such execution of women in Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitor said today.

“The Islamic State group executed two women by beheading them in Deir Ezzor province, and this is the first time the Observatory has documented women being killed by the group in this manner,” Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said.

The Britain-based monitor said the executions took place on Monday and Sunday and involved two couples.

Cash-for-vote case: TDP MLA Revanth Reddy, 2 others get bail

In a relief to Telangana TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy, the prime accused in the cash-for-vote case, the Hyderabad High Court today granted bail to him and two others accused in the case.

The High Court directed Reddy and the two others accused – Bishop Harry Sebastian and R Uday Simha – to furnish a personal bond of Rs 5 lakh each and two sureties of the like amount.

They were asked to cooperate with the investigating agency (Anti-Corruption Bureau).

Reddy was also asked to surrender his passport and not to leave his Assembly constituency.

Weak rural economy credit negative for India’s rating

In a ‘credit negative’ for its sovereign and bank ratings, India’s rural economy will remain subdued through this fiscal, while “some disappointment” has emerged about pace of reforms under the Modi government, global giant Moody’s said.

In its latest ‘Inside India’ report, Moody’s Investors Service said the consensus view on India’s economic growth prospects is relatively optimistic — in line with Moody’s baseline scenario of economic expansion of 7.5% in the current fiscal.

One killed in Afghan suicide attack

At least one person was killed in a suicide attack in Afghanistan’s Helmand province on Tuesday.

The attack, which also left 40 people injured, took place near a police station in the provincial capital Lashkar Gah, Xinhua reported.

“One militant detonated a car bomb near the police station building,” a security official said.

IS beheads two women in Syria

Islamic State (IS) militants beheaded two women in eastern Syria, the first beheading of women since the IS group came into existence in Syria, activists said on Tuesday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based watchdog group, said the beheadings took place in the eastern province of Deir al-Zour near Iraq.

The beheading of the two women was the first such incident since the IS declared its “caliphate” in areas under its control in Syria a year ago, according to Xinhua news agency.

Gas leak blast kills four of family in Uttar Pradesh

Four people were killed and as many others seriously injured early Tuesday in an explosion triggered by leakage of cooking gas in Mau district, police said.

A leak from an LPG cylinder in the house of Krishna Jaiswal at Majhwara Mod in Ghosi town went unoticed.

A trader hailing from Deoria, Krishna woke up early morning and lit a matchstick to light up a mosquito repellant coil.

It triggered a fire in the house. Before the family could get out, a loud explosion led to the death of four and serious burn injuries to four others.
