Aam Admi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal, along with his party’s volunteers, has taken up the clean-up campaign at BR camp in the Race Course road area ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s launch of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ in the national capital.

The US secret service director Julia Pierson resigned Wednesday over a recent White House security breach.

According to a statement released Wednesday afternoon by the US Department of Homeland Security, Pierson has offered her resignation, and DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson has accepted it. “I salute her 30 years of distinguished service to the secret service and the nation,” Xinhua quoted Johnson as saying in a statement.

The US and Brazil reached an agreement Wednesday to end a decade-long cotton dispute between the two countries.

Brazil sued the US in the World Trade Organisation (WTO) on cotton subsidies in 2002. The WTO handed down a ruling in 2009 in Brazil’s favour, allowing Brazil to take retaliation measures on imports of US goods.

Leaders of INSAAF organization and CPI of Greater staged protest in front of the office of Water Works Department in Khairtabad yesterday. Govt. of Telangana has changed the holiday for Eid-ul-Azha and the restricted holiday of Eid-e-Ghadeer. Dr. Rajiv Sharma, Chief Secretary, Govt. of Telangana had issued GO. Rt. 738 on 29th November 2013 wherein holiday was given for Eid-ul-Azha on Sunday 5th October and Eid-e-Ghadeer on 13th October.

The debate over banning burqa in the Parliament House seems to be the hottest topic in Australia currently.

According to News.com.au, Prime Minister Tony Abbott has said that he finds burqas confronting and wishes they weren’t worn. But he insists the debate over a burqa ban at Parliament House should be treated as a matter of security .

Abbott made the remark after his Chief of Staff supported the ban of the traditional Muslim clothing at Parliament House earlier.

President of Spain’s Catalonia autonomous community Artur Mas Wednesday said he has not changed his mind about the region’s independence referendum despite the Spanish Constitutional Court declaring it unconstitutional.

US Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel has authorised the deployment of 700 soldiers to Liberia to help with the fight against the Ebola epidemic there, the Defence Department said in a statement Wednesday.

The troops will be deployed in late October to supervise the construction of Ebola treatment units, conduct site surveys and provide engineering expertise in an area with a range of infrastructure repair needs, Xinhua reported.
