Road Transport Ministry gives permission to E-rickshaws to ply in Delhi

The Centre has recognised E-rickshaws as special category three-wheeled vehicles and allowed them to ply on the roads of Delhi.

A notification to this effect was given by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on Wednesday.

The government said that such vehicles will be constructed or adapted to carry not more than four passengers, excluding the driver, and not more than forty kg luggage in total.

It also declared that its net motor power should not be more than two thousand watts and the maximum speed of the vehicle should not be more than 25 kilometers per hour.

Illicit relations led to suicide
(Siasat News): A man was brutally murdered in L B Nagar and is yet to be identified. His dead body was recovered by police from a woman’s house situated at Sai Nagar Road No. 3.

Police said that the deceased was 32 to 35 years of age and suspect that the house might be owned by a lady named Venkatamma. She had alleged illicit relations with several men and the deceased was also one of them.

Minority Welfare Depts. lack staff

Government too seems helpless due to lack of officials in Minority welfare institutions. It failed to appoint new officers in place of officers who are given additional charge. Lack of staff is not new to the minority welfare department. It faces paucity of staff for the past several years consequently affecting its performance.

In the past two secretaries of Minority Welfare had recommended that additional staff must be allotted to Minority Welfare but no action has been taken on their proposals.

PM Modi invites nine luminaries to join his ‘Clean India’ campaign

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Thursday that he has invited nine people to join his ” Clean India campaign, and requested each of them to draw nine more persons into the initiative to make it a phenomenon.

Addressing a gathering on Rajpath, the Prime Minister while extending his Dussehra wishes, said that this chain of invitations should continue.

Pushing the people to make use of social media, he said, “We have launched the campaign on social media. If you see any filth anywhere, upload a photo of the place. Then, clean it, and again upload a photo to show the difference.”

Do not politicize Swachh Bharat Abhiyan: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that the “Clean India” campaign should not be politicised, and that all must come together for this much required endeavour.

“If this campaign is politically motivated, if this is evaluated by a photo-opportunity on a given day, then we would be doing a disservice to India. We all must come together and do this (clean India) wherever we are, and it is my firm belief that we will be able to clean our motherland,” Prime Minister Modi told a gathering at Rajpath.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, currently in Delhi to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, appealed to every Indian to join the campaign. ‘This should not be viewed as just a photo-op occasion, ‘Clean India’ is the campaign we should proud of,’ the actor said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday paid a surprise visit to the Mandir Marg police station in central Delhi to check how clean it was.

On his way to the Valmiki Colony to launch his Clean India campaign, Modi suddenly stopped his car and walked into the police station, a police officer who witnessed it all told IANS.

The inspection was not planned and took the officials accompanying Modi by surprise.

The prime minister spent a few minutes at the police station checking the sanitation and other facilities.

Pakistan violates ceasefire along LoC in Poonch, India retaliates

Pakistan once again violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) on Wednesday after it fired at the Indian posts in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.

The Indian troops also reportedly retaliated after firing from the neighbouring country started at 6:40 pm.

“There was firing from across the border by Pakistani troops on Indian forward posts along the LoC in Sabjian sector of Poonch around 1840 hours,” a defence spokesperson said, the PTI reported.

The ceasefire violation took place in Sawjian area of the district.

Facebook founder to visit India later this month

After Sheryl Sandberg, its now the turn of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to visit India, the second biggest market for the social networking giant, later this month.

Zuckerberg, who will also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will be in India to address the first Internet.Org summit taking place on October 9-10 in the city.

The young billionaire is expected to meet members of other key ministries as well.

Zuckerberg is the third high profile CEO of a US-based corporation, after Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and Micrsoft’s Satya Nadella, to visit India in last few days.

According to the report of Principal Govt. ITI old city Hyderabad Mr. Mohammed Hamed Khan, schedule filling up of vacant seats in all government and private ITIs of Telangana has been released. The last date to submit form is October 7. Admissions will be given on merit basis and under prevalent reservation policy.

Tariq blames Cong for Mahahashtra break up

Blaming Congress for break up of alliance in Maharashtra assembly poll, NCP General Secretary Tariq Anwar today said the party had done well contesting alone in 1999 there and ruled out possibility of post poll tie-up with BJP.

“NCP had done well by winning 60 seats while fighting alone in Maharashtra in 1999 election,” Anwar told reporters.

He blamed Congress for break up of the 15-year-old tie-up between Congress and NCP.

China FM issues warning over ‘illegal’ protests in Hong Kong

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi has issued a stern warning against any “illegal” protests in Hong Kong.

Currently on a visit to Washington, Wang also warned that the matter was an “internal affair” for China.

His U.S. counterpart, Secretary of State John Kerry, also urged Hong Kong to exercise restraint in dealing with the protests.

PM launches Clean India campaign

Prime Minister Narendra Modi symbolically wielded the broom Thursday to launch a nationwide campaign that aims to clean up India in five years.

Modi chose the Valmiki colony in Delhi’s heart — a place once home to Mahatma Gandhi — to do the sweeping in a small area for a minute, in the company of party colleagues and officials.

Modi has said that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan should clean up the country by 2019, the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Kejriwal cleans choked drains near PM’s house

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal Thursday helped sweepers to clean up choked drains in a small residential area near Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in the heart of the capital.

The former chief minister of Delhi chose the BR Camp, as the low income area is called, on the very day Modi launched his Clean India campaign.

Kejriwal was accompanied by several employees of the civic agency, and he later had tea with them, an Aam Aadmi Party spokesman said.

The BR Camp falls in Kejriwal’s New Delhi assembly constituency.
