10 people at ‘high risk’ of Ebola in Dallas

US health officials were monitoring 50 people for Ebola exposure, 10 of whom are at “high risk” of the disease after close contact with the first diagnosed American patient.

United States Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has identified 10 people who had contact with Thomas Eric Duncan, America’s first diagnosed case of Ebola.

CDC made contact with about 100 people that had possible contact with Duncan, and narrowed to 50 the list of people it needs to monitor daily.

Former England captain Andrew Strauss has issued a warning predicting the future of Test Cricket, saying he fears it could ‘fizzle out’.

Strauss made this gloomy anticipation in the paperback edition of his autobiography ‘Driving Ambition’.

George Clooney’s wife Amal Alamuddin has been labeled as the ‘new Kim Kardashian’ by a website which made the human rights lawyer famous overnight.

Alamuddin topped the ‘Barrister Hottie’ list that was compiled by the website Barrister Boyfriend which also mentioned during the wedding speeches, the Mirror reported.

Natalia Naish, founder of the site, compared the 36-year-old human rights lawyer, to reality TV star Kardashian after posting his views on Clooney’s wedding on her website.

“The sky will remain clear and the day`s maximum temperature would be around 37 degrees Celsius,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The day`s minimum temperature settled three levels above the season`s average at 24.6 degrees Celsius.

Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 83 percent.

Margarita Palestino , a dental technician in LA has charged the 49-year-old actor of acting “violently bolting out of the dental chair, and forcefully punching Palestino’s chest”, People magazine reported.

Greek coast guard intercepts 237 illegal migrants

A total of 237 undocumented migrants and three human traffickers were intercepted in the eastern Aegean Sea islands, the Greek coast guard said.

The number of immigrants entering Greece this year is expected to triple in comparison with 2013 to some 30,000 people, Greek Shipping Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis told parliament Friday.

Varvitsiotis attributed the increased flow to the ongoing crisis in Syria and the atrocities of jihadis, Xinhua reported.

France dominates Subdivision 6 at gymnastics worlds

France topped the standings in Subdivision 6 of men’s gymnastics qualifications with the best team total score in each of the six apparatus here Saturday.

France, which performed particularly well on parallel bars and rings, earned a total of 343.385 points to rank sixth among the teams that have competed thus far in the qualifications that began Friday, reports Xinhua.

The top eight teams in qualifications will advance to Tuesday’s team final.

Following France in the standings are Australia (324.917), Kazakhstan (313.899) and Denmark (305.908).

Indian wrestling team arrives in New Delhi after bagging medals at Asian Games

Indian wrestlers Yogeshwar Dutt and Bajrang arrived in New Delhi on Saturday after bagging the Gold and Silver medal respectively at the 17th Asian Games held in Incheon in South Korea.

Dutt outshone Tajikistan’s Zalimkhan Yusupov in the men’s 65 kg freestyle wrestling match by 1-0, whereas Bajrang had to settle with a silver medal after losing the men’s freestyle 61kg final match with 1-3 score to Iran’s Masoud Esmaeilpoorjouybari. His compatriot Narsingh Pancham Yadav settled for a bronze in 74kg freestyle.

Speaking to mediapersons, Dutt expressed his happiness over the win.

Thomas Kailath, a Pune educated Indian-American engineering professor at Stanford University, is one of the recipients of the US National Medal of Science announced by President Barack Obama.

Kailath is also a recipient of the Padma Bhushan, one of India’s high civilian awards and is a member of major science and engineering academies in India.

He received his BE (telecom) degree from the College of Engineering, Pune before getting his SM and ScD degrees in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The hybrid device created at the Ohio State University is a mesh solar panel, which allows air to enter the battery, and a special process for transferring electrons between the solar panel and the battery electrode. 7 in 10 newlyweds don’t have sex on first night

It turns out that most of the British newlyweds don’t have sex on their first night.

According to a recent wedding survey by events company Chillisauce, 67 per cent of Brit couples don’t actually consummate their marriage on their wedding night, Metro.co.uk reported.

Out of the 5,000 people who responded to the survey, almost 80 percent of women who attended a wedding said they’d ‘hooked up’ with someone there, while 25 percent of people claimed to have met their partner at somebody else’s nuptials.
