CSA extend Domingo’s contract for another year to take away uncertainty ahead of WC

Cricket South Africa (CSA) chief executive Haroon Lorgat has said that national coach Russell Domingo’s contract has been extended for another year as they were considering the negative impact that uncertainty could have on World Cup preparations.

Lorgat announced on Saturday that Domingo and national team manager Mohammed Moosajee had both had their contracts extended to April 2016 by the CSA board.

Relocation of ammunition dumps, bunkers ordered in Jammu

The Indian Army Monday ordered the relocation of its ammunition dumps, bunkers and border outposts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu region due to extensive damage caused by floods.

Over 10 km of border fencing has been washed away by the floods along the LoC, which has resulted in serious damage to army posts and bunkers in the region, a defence spokesperson told IANS here.

Jamia students collect relief material for J-K flood victims

The students of Jamia Millia Islamia University on Sunday collected relief material and funds for the Jammu and Kashmir flood victims.

“We are trying to send maximum amount of medicines. We are asking for medicines. If people don’t want to give money, they can give food, utensils and clothes,” said Rubia Ahmed, a student of Jamia Millia Islamia University.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also sent a relief materials from New Delhi today for the flood victims.

BJP leader Satish Upadhyay promised to send more relief materials and volunteers.

As industrialist Vijay Mallya fights his wilful defaulter tag, former Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Vinod Rai has said Kingfisher Airlines’ loan default is just a “trickle” and the overall problem of huge bad loans at public sector banks can be blamed on ‘cronies’ using connections to borrow money.

Nagarjuna Sagar Dam level full

The largest dam of Asia, Nagarjuna Sagar is almost full. Its water level has reached 589.30 ft whereas its full capacity is 590 ft. It can store 409 TMC water. Due to release of water from Srisailam Dam and also continuous rainfall, the water level of Nagarjuna Sagar has risen. 11000 Cusecs water is being released through the left and the right canals. From SLBC canal, 3170 cusecs water is being released for generation of electricity. Sunday being holiday, many tourists witnessed the release of water from Nagarjuna Sagar which presented a beautiful scene.

Bajrang Dal activists attack Beef lorry

It seems that the activists of Bajrang Dal and its allied outfits are getting ready to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the city on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha on the issue of beef meat. Yesterday Bajrang Dal and VHP activists suddenly attacked a cold storage lorry carrying beef in the vicinity of Jal pally area near Pahadashareef. They damaged the vehicle very badly.
