Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Terrorism Front (JKATF) staged a demonstration against Pakistan and its Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) in a village along the border of India and Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir. JKATF Chairman, Surinder Singh, along with activists and villagers shouted slogans against Pakistan and burned its national flag as a mark of protest against militancy in Bobiya village in Kathua. Singh claimed the illegal infiltration of militants to Kashmir from Pakistan has resulted in the death of innocent civilians through repeated strikes.

The wreckage of the Malaysia Airlines plane might never be found, the head of the search for Flight MH370 has said. Speaking to media on Tuesday, Air Chief Marshal (rtd) Angus Houston raised the possibility that no wreckage from the jet may ever be found, revealing authorities have a very poor understanding about how fast or far it traveled. Three policemen held with 149 gold bars in Bangladesh

Four people, including three policemen, have been detained and 149 gold bars recovered from them during raids in three district towns in Bangladesh.

The policemen detained are sub-inspector Monjurul Alam, constables Wahid and Akash of Rampura Police Station in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka, Abu Yusuf, assistant commissioner (Media) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said.

Police informer Rana was also among those who were detained. The suspects were detained during raids in Narayanaganj, Gazipur and Bogra districts Monday night, bdnews24.com reported.

Pak insists will get excess military equipment from US post Afghan pullout

Pakistan would be receiving surplus armoured vehicles and other military equipment from the United States post Afghan withdrawal later this year. High temperature reduces length of pregnancy: Study

If you are pregnant and wish a full-term delivery, it is better to shift to a colder place before the mercury goes up as high temperature may reduce the length of your pregnancy, research indicates.

When temperatures reach 32 degrees celsius or higher over a period of four to seven days, the risk of early-term delivery is 27 percent higher than on typical summer days.

“Small-scale studies suggest that heat-induced stress increases uterine contractility, during a period of pregnancy when thermoregulation seems less effective,” said Nathalie Auger from University of Montreal in Canada.

Pakistan offers to bring Musharraf’s mother home

The Pakistani government has offered to bring back former president Pervez Musharraf’s mother, who is undergoing treatment in Sharjah, rather than let him travel to the Gulf country, a media report said Tuesday.

The development came a day after Musharraf was indicted of high treason by a special three-bench court, Dawn online reported.

Musharraf’s counsel had asked the court to allow him to visit his ailing 95-year-old mother, Zarin Musharraf, in Sharjah but the court ruled that it was up to the government to decide on the issue.
