Elton John to ‘celebrate’ gay marriage law

Singer Elton John, who will exchange wedding vows with partner David Furnish in May, says that they will “celebrate” the law allowing same-sex marriage with their marriage.

John and Furnish entered into a civil partnership back in 2005 but want to make it official now that same-sex marriage is legal in England.

“I’m very proud of my country and I’m very proud of Britain and the laws that we’ve seen come into existence since we’ve been together,” eonline.com quoted John as saying.

Cheryl Cole is broody, says Sarah Harding

Singer Sarah Harding, who was once part of Girls Aloud band, has revealed that Cheryl Cole is “broody”.

Harding says the 30-year-old “X Factor” judge, who split from ex-boyfriend Tre Holloway last year, is ready to have kids, but for now they are both happy looking after their pet dogs.

Lindsay Lohan enjoyed free rehab stay

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan’s health insurance company refused to pay her $150,000 rehab bill, so the clinic agreed to waiver the cost.

The 27-year-old, whose personal assistant has reportedly quit because she can’t afford to pay him, spent three months at the upmarket Cliffside Malibu clinic last June and the facility agreed to foot the $150,000 bill in return for the publicity her stay would bring.

The lighter locks are a big switch for Hewitt, who has mostly maintained shoulder-length brunette hair. This is the lightest blonde she has been seen in.

Five bodies found in Mexico

At least five bodies in an advanced state of decomposition were found in a clandestine grave in the northwestern Mexican state of Sinaloa, officials said.

Residents called police after they found some partially buried clothing in the area.

The bodies were discovered Monday and Tuesday in an area near San Jose, a town outside the city of Ahome, Sinaloa Deputy Attorney General Evaristo Castro Borbolla said.

Two sets of human remains were found Monday afternoon and the other three bodies were discovered Tuesday, Castro Borbolla said.

Russia may ban importing Lithuania’s meat products

Russia may put a ban on meat products’ import from Lithuania April 7, the Eurasian country’s watchdog of veterinary and phytosanitary safety said Wednesday.

Poland is also included in the ban list, said Xinhua quoting Rosselkhoznadzor, Russian veterinary and phytosanitary safety service.

“In the past, there were more announcements like this, and we will look for decision together with the European Commission,” Lithuania’s Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius told media in Brussels.

215 kg cocaine worth $59 mn seized in Italy

A major haul of 215 kg cocaine worth $59 million was seized and 23 people arrested by Italian police Wednesday as part of its anti-drug operations.

In the first major crackdown against drug trafficking between South America and Italy, police seized 215 kilos of pure cocaine in the southern port of Gioia Tauro, in the Calabria region. The drug was hidden aboard a cargo ship, inside a container carrying bananas from Ecuador, Xinhua reported.

One killed in shooting at US Army base

At least one person, apparently the presumed gunman, was killed and eight injured in a shooting incident at the US Army base of Fort Hood in Texas state Wednesday afternoon, media reports said.

The mass shooting that authorities say is still an “active” scene at the Fort Hood army base north of Austin, Texas, local media reported.

KCEN television cited sources that identified the attacker as a white male dressed in a military combat uniform who opened fire with a .45 caliber pistol and was driving a vehicle.

Lithuania deploys air force in CAR

Ten crew members with a C-27 J Spartan transport aircraft from the Lithuania Air Force were formally deployed to the French-led mission in the Central African Republic Wednesday, the Ministry of National Defence of Lithuania said.

The deployed Lithuanian military will supply logistic support to the operation Sangaris for stabilisation of the situation in the CAR, Xinhua quoted the ministry as saying.

The Lithuanian air force will supply service of transporting cargo and personnel, without being involved in combat actions, it added.

One dead, several fell ill due to food poisoning in Old City

One person died and three others are in a serious condition besides 20 others taken ill due to alleged food poisoning after they consumed some eatables in a bakery in the old city.
Over 29 people, mostly women and children, fell ill after consuming mouth watering burger purchased from a bakery at Hafeezbabanagar. Officials said of the victims, 20 were admitted to Fever Hospital and another nine are undergoing treatment at Community Health Center in Barkas.

Businessman died after his brother hit him with stick

40-year old Businessman who sustained injuries nine days ago after his brother hit him with a stick died on Wednesday.
According to police, deceased Mohammed Abdul Raheem (40) from Yakutpura on March 25 his brother Maqsood started behaving in a violent manner and hit raheem, when he went to pacify him. The latter fell unconscious and was rushed to a private hospital for treatment where he succumbed on Wednesday early hours.
Rein Bazar police registered a case of murder under section 302 IPC against Maqsood and began investigation. Inspector G Ramesh said. (INN)

A-52-year-old-man died of Electrocution at Bhoiguda of Gandhinagar on Tuesday evening hours.

According to the Gandhi nagar police, Deceased identified as N Subramaniyam, a Security Guard R/o Bhoiguda of Gandhinagar while trying to fixing the bulb on Tuesday evening hours suddenly he got electrocuted and died on the spot.

Gandhinagar police registered a case and dead body shifted to Gandhi Hospital Mortuary for postmortem. After autopsy deceased body handed over to his relatives. (INN)
