Google says Turkey ISPs blocking its DNS service

Google has reportedly alleged that Turkish Internet service providers are blocking its public DNS service by setting up masqueraded DNS servers.

The company confirmed that Turkey is actively blocking Google’s public Domain Name System (DNS) service that translates numeric Internet Protocol addresses into the more human-readable domain names.

A new study has revealed that cholesterol-lowering drugs may help men with erectile dysfunction.

The researchers found that statins are associated with a significant improvement in erectile function by helping blood vessels dilate properly and improving vascular blood flow to the penis.

John B. Kostis, M.D., director of the Cardiovascular Institute, said that the increase in erectile function scores with statins was approximately one-third to one-half of what has been reported with drugs like Viagra, Cialis or Levitra.

Jaitley rules out Modi’s apology on 2002 riots

Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley today ruled out an apology from Narendra Modi on the 2002 riots, saying he does not have to do it to satisfy a “fake campaign” against him.

“Those asking for an apology wanted the apology to be an act of confession. If he has actually committed a mistake why apologise, he should have been prosecuted and punished for it.

“We can squabble over the kind of expressions one wants to use… To satisfy a fake campaign he does not have to apologise,” Jaitley said in an interaction with foreign journalists here.

Scientists have found that people who have fewer copies of a gene that helps the body digest carbohydrates are at a greater risk of obesity.

Researchers from Imperial College London found that obesity may be genetically linked to how our bodies digest carbohydrates.

The study investigated the relationship between body weight and a gene called AMY1, which is responsible for an enzyme present in our saliva known as salivary amylase.

A leading health expert from Australia has warned that the rapidly changing climate of earth could possibly make human beings extinct as a species.

Associate dean at the University of Canberra, Helen Berry, has explained that while the planet has experienced warmer and colder climates at different points in history, the rate of change has never been as fast as it is today, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

What is remarkable, and alarming, is the speed of the change since the 1970s, when we started burning a lot of fossil fuels in a massive way, she said.

A 33-year-old professional fitness coach here has set a Guinness World record for most bungee jumps in 24 hours, by taking the plunge a nerve-shattering 151 times.

Colin Phillips, originally from the UK, broke the world record for most bungee jumps in 24 hours by diving 151 times during an event at Dubai Autodrome.

Phillips spent ten months preparing for the attempt, doing numerous consecutive jumps every weekend in the build-up to the event.

Zia sued for claiming her husband was first B’desh president

A libel suit was today filed against Bangladesh’s former premier and main opposition leader Khaleda Zia on charges of “distorting the history” by claiming that her late husband Ziaur Rahman was the nation’s first president.

A Dhaka court today recorded the suit against 68-year-old Zia, also the chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

On March 27 at a discussion on the Independence Day, Zia claimed that her husband was the first president of the country and the proclaimer of the independence.

Apple hits 500 millionth iPhone sale landmark

Apple has reportedly sold its 500 millionth iPhone, a number that marks the growing success of the iPhone maker.

Apple has up till now launched eight devices, with iPhone 5s and 5c being the latest to join the squad.

Meanwhile, iPhone 5c reportedly outsold its rivals in the run up to Christmas.

According to the Daily Star, the original iPhone was launched by former Apple Chief, Steve Jobs, in 2007 and went on to shift a mere 6.1 million units.
