India on Friday successfully test-fired its nuclear-capable Prithvi-II surface-to-surface missile from a military base in Odisha, a senior official said.
The indigenously-developed ballistic missile with a maximum range of 350 km was fired from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Balasore district, about 230 km from Bhubaneswar.
“It was a perfect launch. It met all mission objectives,” test range Director M.V.K.V. Prasad told reporters.
The Strategic Forces Command (SFC) of the Indian Army conducted the test as part of a regular training exercise, he said.

A Italian startup has reportedly rolled out an app for deaf people, which enables them to make phone calls.
The four-month-old Italian startup, Pedius, has got an app that converts a text message sent by a user to speech at the other side of the phone call, which is also reportedly accompanied by a clean looking website.
According to Tech Crunch, although the app and website are currently available only in Italy, it is set to expand to Brazil, the US and India soon.

India’s competition watchdog has reportedly slapped a hefty fine on Google for its non-compliance in a two-year-old anti-trust probe that focused on the search giant’s online search practices.

Microsoft and Dell have signed a patent licensing agreement that allows the software maker to collect more royalties on Google software.

The lawsuit filed by Paul D. Ceglia, claiming half ownership of Facebook, has reportedly been dismissed by a District Judge in New York. Ceglia had claimed in a lawsuit in 2010 that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who was providing programming and coding services for a search project called StreetFax that time, had signed a Work for Hire document in 2003, in which he agreed, in return for monetary payments, to give Ceglia a half interest in Facebook.

According to Ghaziabad BJP Lok Sabha convener Atul Garg, Modi’s public rally would happen in Indrapuram area, where poeple from Ghaziabad and Noida will also be present.
Modi’s rally in Ghaziabad was earlier scheduled for March 27 in Kavi Nagar Ramlila Maidan, but the itenerary was changed keeping in view the leader’s schedule, Garg said.

One person was killed and three others were injured in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district Friday when some unidentified gunmen wearing army uniforms stopped a jeep on the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway and shot its occupants, police said. Gunmen later escaped in the same vehicle.
