200cr loan for ITI staff gets govt nod

The government on Friday approved a soft loan of Rs 200 crore for paying salaries to employees of loss-making PSU Indian Telephone Industries (ITI) Ltd. The move is expected to mitigate the hardship being faced by the company in paying its employees. ITI Ltd had 7,633 employees as on December 1, 2013.The decision was taken by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA).

Obama behaved ‘too black’ during youth, says half- brother

Barack Obama’s half-sibling has confessed that his initial impression of the current President of the United States of America was that he is just “too black”.

During an interview with Newsmax, Mark Ndesandjo said that when they first met in 1988, Obama found him “too white” while he found him “too black”, the Washington Times reported.

German court dismisses European $2bn lawsuit against Apple

A German court has reportedly dismissed the 2 billion dollar lawsuit filed against Apple for allegedly infringing on a European patent essential to 3G and LTE devices.

The German company, IPCom, had sought the said damages by arguing that it owned the patents.

According to The Verge, Germany’s Mannheim regional court dismissed the case, having also dismissed a similar case between IPCom and HTC.

The report said that the rulings were a significant setback for IPCom, a company that owns 1,200 patents related to mobile technologies.

Collision with lorry proved fatal
(Siasat News):  A man on a motorbike severely hit the stationary lorry that proved fatal.

This incident occurred in Nacharam police limits where Sagar Goud, 22, a private employee, died when his motorbike hit the stationary lorry parked in a corner of the road.

The deceased was the resident of Malkajgiri. Police is further investigating.

Room attender held for rape bid on singer

A hotel room attendant in south Delhi’s Mehrauli was arrested after he allegedly attempted to rape a 22- yea-rold singer from Kolkata, who had arrived in the Capital to perform at a function.

According to a senior police officer, the accused, identified as Deepak, works as a room attendant at Golden Tulip hotel at Mehrauli area. “He was detained and sent to judicial custody for 14 days.”

Four injured in cylinder blast in Odisha

Four members of a family including a child sustained burns after an LPG cylinder exploded in Baligari village of Jajpur district, police said on Saturday.

The explosion took place when cooking was in progress in the house yesterday. Four persons suffered 30 to 50 per cent burns and were hospitalised.

The walls and other materials of the house were damaged causing panic in the village. A fire tender brought the situation under contril.

“We suspect gas leak is the reason for the explosion,” police said.

Five-year-old raped in Thane, youth arrested

A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a teenager, who was her neighbour in Janaki Pada area here, police said on Saturday.

The accused, Janardhan Bind (19) who works in a local company, lured the girl with chocolates and took her to his house yesterday when her parents were not around, API G B Mali of Waliv police station said.

The incident came to light when the girl told her mother about the sexual abuse.

Bind has been arrested and booked under section 376 of the IPC and section 4 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual offences Act 2012.

A man, working as a PR rep in NYC, has filed a lawsuit against his former female bosses after they fired him for supposedly turning down their sexual advances.

Joseph Earl Jackson has claimed in his lawsuit that his supervisors at Open Communications Omnimedia fondled, kissed and flirted with him, and asked him to take part in a “bang sesh,” the New York Post reported.

Jackson said that one of his supervisors, Sally O’Dowd, told him “she loved young black and Hispanic men” and “that she loved how sexy his chest and deltoids were in his white shirt”.

U.S. court grants Sikh group’s plea to serve notice on Indian PM

A federal judge in Washington has granted a Sikh rights group the right to serve a notice on Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh through the Hague Service Convention.

Under the February 28 order, Judge James E. Boasberg states: “Plaintiffs shall by April 14, 2014, either file proof of service or file a status report updating the Court on their progress in effecting service”.
