CCTV footage shows ‘loving’ Pistorius, girlfriend

South Africa’s Oscar Pistorius is seen kissing and flirting with his model girlfriend just days before he shot her dead, in security footage broadcast today ahead of his murder trial.

Pistorius and his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp behaved like any loving couple as they picked out groceries at the upmarket Woolworths store in Pretoria ten days before her Valentine’s Day death, according to CCTV images broadcast by Sky News.

Five militants killed Afghanistan operation

At least five militants were killed while eight others were wounded in a military operation in Afghanistan’s western province of Herat, a police chief said on Saturday.

“The military raid was carried out by army and police in Obe district, west of the provincial capital Herat city. Several rounds of weapons and ammunition were also seized following the operation,” district police chief Shiragha Alokozai told Xinhua.

No soldier was hurt in the operations, he noted.

AAP declares third list of Lok Sabha candidates

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today declared their third list of candidates for 20 Lok Sabha seats with prominent names being Savita Bhatti, wife of late comedian Jaspal Bhatti’s, who has been given a ticket from Chandigarh, and Anand Kumar, a professor from JNU, from Delhi.

The party declared candidates for lone seat of Union Territory of Chandigarh, two from Delhi and Kerela, seven from Madhya Pradesh, seven from Odisha and one from Bihar. The third list has a doctor, actor, teacher, former diplomat, educationists and social activists.

German to make documentary on Bihar farmer

A German has come all the way to a village in Bihar’s Nalanda district to make a documentary on a farmer who set a paddy cultivation record.

“We are here to shoot a documentary film on life of Sumant Kumar, his farming technique and lifestyle,” said Munich-based journalist Vetina Vez, who is heading the eight member-team from Germany.

Sumant Kumar, a farmer in Darveshpura village in Nalanda district, had created a record in 2011 by producing 224 quintals of paddy per hectare using the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method.

Jailed Nigerian man claims had sex with goat after seeking its ‘permission’!

A man reportedly had sex with a goat multiple times and claims that he first sought its permission.

Malam Kamisu Baranda, from a village near Dutse, has stunned the police in Nigeria by his claims, the Daily Star reported.

The 20-year-old told Jigawa State Police officials that it was his goat and he shouldn’t be charged as he had asked the goat the permission to have sex with it.

Baranda, who was given two week prison sentence, added that animals “satisfied his demands” and he has taken other animals into bushes to avoid any embarrassment. (ANI)

A woman from UK – dubbed hot convict after her image surfaced on internet – has filed a lawsuit against a background check website, saying that the company used her arrest booking photo for commercial and advertising purposes, without compensating or even getting her permission.

Meagan Simmons, of Zephyrhills, Florida, filed the lawsuit in Hillsborough County Court against InstantCheckmate.com, CBS reported.

In her lawsuit, she said that all the exposure has disturbed her peace of mind, and invaded her privacy, causing her mental anguish.

Bangaloreans to shell out Rs 80.18 for petrol, Rs 60 for diesel

On Friday, Petrol price was hiked by 60 paise a litre, the second increase this year whereas diesel gets dearer by 50 paise a litre making it the 14th hike since January 2013.

The hikes, effective from Friday midnight, are with the exception of local sales tax or VAT and actual increase will be higher and will differ from city to city.

Petrol price, which was last hiked on January 4, will cost Rs 80.18 from Rs 79.38 in Bangalore. It will be Rs 73.16 a litre from Rs 72.43 at present in Delhi.

Ambareesh set to be treated at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore

Actor and Housing Minister M H Ambareesh will be shifted to Singapore for further treatment early on Saturday, doctors said on Friday.

The actor is stable and his family has decided to take him to Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore.

He will leave in an air ambulance around 3.30am, as said by a spokesperson of Vikram Hospital where the actor is being treated.
