Congress double talk on Alliance with TRS!

The Telangana Congress seemed to be desperately trying for alliances with other parties for the ensuing elections, though outwardly it is proclaiming that it would go it alone in the electoral battle.
This could be gauged from the comments of the TPCC president Ponnala Laxmaiah, who while stating that the Congress was strong enough to win on its own in the Telangana region, had also observed that the party’s doors are open for an alliance with the TRS. However, he said the question of forging an alliance should come from the TRS.

Naidu hails Pawan’s exhortation to people

In an unexpected move, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu today welcomed comments of Jana Sena party founder and actor Pawan Kalyan.
Referring to the comments of Pawan Kalyan at a public meeting at Visakhapatnam on Thursday, Naidu said Pawan had said that he floated the party to prevent division of votes and that was the reason his party was not contesting the ensuing elections.

Spoken sanskrit classes for CBSE IX & X Class students

Little Millennium’s Centre for Creative Arts, Nallakunta, in association with Samskruta Bharathi Hyderabad is organizing a month-long course in spoken Sanskrit for CBSE students of classes IX and X , who have opted Sanskrit as second language. The course covers foundation, grammar, sentence formation, syntax, and spoken skills development with interactive sessions by experts.
According to a pressnote here today, K. Lakshmi Lalitha said the course will start from April 2 to 30 from 4 pm to 6 pm at Little Millennium Pre-School, near Reliance Fresh Shankarmath vegetable market.

TRS senior leader and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao here on Friday made it clear that there was no question of his party having a truck with Congress for the ensuing general elections.
Speaking to mediapersons, Harish Rao alleged that the Congress leaders were playing “mind game” with the TRS in the name of having electoral alliance with his party in order to mislead the people of the new State. Stating that TRS would go it alone in all the elections in the State, he said the ways for forging an alliance with Congress remained closed.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) politburo member Syed Ibrahim has resigned from the party.
Upset over the party denying him a ticket from Mahbubnagar Assembly constituency, Ibrahim tendered his resignation from the party. The seat was given to Telangana Gazetted Officers (TGO) association president Srinivas Goud.

Norway ex-PM Jens Stoltenberg named new NATO chief

The NATO decided Friday to appoint Jens Stoltenberg as secretary general of NATO and chairman of the North Atlantic Council, in succession to Anders Fogh Rasmussen.

Stoltenberg will assume his functions as secretary general from Oct 1, 2014, when the present NATO chief Fogh Rasmussen will step down, Xinhua reported citing a NATO statement.

“Warm congratulations to Jens Stoltenberg on his appointment as my successor,” said Rasmussen in a Twitter message. “The Ukraine and Russia crisis shows need for continued strong and determined leadership of NATO.”

‘Ensure representation of minorities in civil services’

Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung Friday called upon the academic fraternity to ensure adequate representation in civil services for minorities, the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, and backward classes .

Jaipur Foot makers to hold camp in Kabul

Newly Wed woman succumbs to burn injuries

A 19 year old House wife died of burn injuries which she suffered on March 25 at her residence in Golconda.

According to Golconda police, the deceased Farhana Begum (19) W/o Mohammed Feroz, R/o Golconda while cooking on stove accidentally flames caught her on March 25. Immediately rushed to Osmania General Hospital for treatment where she died on Friday Morning hours.

Farhana married with Feroz few days back i.e., March 6, 2014.

Private Employee killed in train accident near Uppuguda

A 32-year-old Private Employee died of injuries after he was hit by a train while he was trying to cross the track.

The accident occurred on Friday morning hours between Yakutpura and Uppuguda Railway Stations while deceased trying to cross the track suddenly one train hit due to which he received multiple injuries and died on the spot. The deceased was later identified as M Lohi Das (32) R/o Shivaji nagar of Uppuguda.

The Kacheguda Railway Police registered a case and dead body shifted to OGH Mortuary for postmortem, after autopsy deceased body handed over to his relatives. (INN)
