Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday said he is “a stumbling block” for BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

“Modi thinks that I am a stumbling block for him,” he told media persons minutes before leaving on his election campaign.

Nitish Kumar was speaking in reference to Modi who hit out against him at rallies in Sasaram and Gaya two days ago, and in earlier rallies in the state and outside.

Global IT major IBM Friday announced investing $100 million to set eight new labs worldwide, including one here for enabling its clients work with experts in design, mobile and digital marketing.

“We will open the new labs in Bangalore, Beijing, Groningen (Netherlands), London, Melbourne, New York, Sao Paulo and Shanghai to provide our clients an opportunity to work with our researchers and consultants on design, data and analytics,” the US-based company said in a statement here.

Papdi (Papri) Chaat

Ingredients:

1 cup maida/all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp kalonji/onion seeds (optional)

1 tbsp oil or ghee

salt to taste

water for kneading

oil for deep frying

1 Take a wide plate and add the maida, oil, kalonji and salt and combine. Slowly add water and make a smooth dough. Leave aside covered with damp cloth for 15 mts.
2 Knead the dough again for a mt. Pinch off some dough and make very small balls. Roll out small thin rotis. Make deep dents in the roti using a fork or knife.

Income tax officer caught red handed by CBI for taking bribe

BhopalThe Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) caught a female Income Tax (IT) officer red-handed for accepting bribe in Bhopal.

The arrested officer has been identified as Poonam Roy, who is a 2007 batch IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officer. She was held along with her husband Ganesh Malviya who acted as a mediator.

Apparently, Roy had demanded a bribe of rupees 2.5 million from a construction company builder on account of settling his tax returns.

Blackberry’s Q4 losses lower than market expectations

Blackberry’s fourth quarter results show that the company has reportedly incurred loss smaller than what analysts had predicted.

While Blackberry’s shares plummeted by 6.63 percent in pre-market trading, the company’s revenue dropped to 2.7 billion dollars from 3.2 billion dollars, taking a toll on the company’s cash position.

According to Tech Crunch, Blackberry saw revenue drop from 64 percent from 2013 levels to 976 million dollars and this 423 million dollars loss is chump change compared to the 4.4-billion dollars loss reported during the previous quarter.

‘Rare’ Stradivari viola expected to go under the hammer for $45m

A rare Stradivari viola is expected to sell for 45 million dollars at auction.

The incredibly rare viola was crafted in 1719 by the legendary Antonio Stradivari and is one of the 10 violas that have survived all these years, making it the world’s most expensive instrument, the New York Post reported.

Body of Indian-origin teenage girl found dead

An Indian-origin teenage girl in Wales missing since December is dead, police have confirmed.

Nida Naseer, 19, was last seen at her home in Linton Street in Newport, at 8 pm on December 28. Since then her mobile phone had also not been used.

Her body was recovered from an estuary.

Gwent Police said formal identification of the body found in Newport on Thursday has been carried out and that it is that of Naseer, who disappeared nearly three months ago after going to put the bins out at her home.
