Constructin worker attacked by Father-in-law

A man was attacked by his father-in-law at Shamshabad on Saturday. The victim is a construction worker suffered injuries when he was attacked.

The victim, identified as K Yadaiah 25 year-old from Shamshabad was accused of killing his wife and a dowry death case was booked against him at RGIA police station. His wife’s family members bore a feeling of resentment against him since then.

On Saturday night, Yadaiah’s father-in-law, A Yadaiah, entered the former’s house and attacked him while he was asleep before fleeing. The victim suffered a head injury.

CoreBrand’s analysis, which it the most powerful tech brand, has come out with the list of 100 most elite brands list for 2014.

Apple was ranked in the 10th spot, which was the most highest-ranking tech brand.

Microsoft is at the 11th position, while Google, Yahoo, and Sony rank 26th, 28th and 31st, respectfully.

Amazon.com was the biggest riser jumping 25 spots in one year.

Apple is the most powerful brand in tech, a recent report from CoreBrand has revealed.

CoreBrand’s analysis, which it the most powerful tech brand, has come out with the list of 100 most elite brands list for 2014.

Apple was ranked in the 10th spot, which was the most highest-ranking tech brand.

It took the No. 10 spot on the overall list, marking a significant growth from 2013 when it was 18th and 2009 when it ranked 93rd.

e-Bay has shot up CoreBrand’s list in recent years, gaining 58 spots over the past five years. This year, it ranked 59th out of 100 overall.

‘Arkham Knight’ game reveals new Bat-villain

Rocksteady’s upcoming new-generation Batman game recently revealed a new series of screenshots that showed Commissioner Gordon, the Batmobile, and the game’s new villain for the first time.

The eponymous Arkham Knight character, which has been co-created by DC Comics and Rocksteady specifically for the game, sports what seems to look-like a hi-tech version of the Batsuit worn by Batman, Stuff.co.nz reported.

Researchers have identified gene mutation that is responsible for a hereditary form of skin cancer melanoma.

The study has found that people with specific mutations in the POT1 gene were extremely likely to develop melanoma and these mutations deactivate the gene that protects the ends of our chromosomes from damage.

Researchers revealed that the inactivation of POT1 caused by these mutations leads to longer and potentially unprotected telomeres, regions at the end of our chromosomes that protect chromosomes from damage.

A recent trial of acupuncture in four Melbourne emergency departments has revealed that it was as effective as drugs in relieving lower-back pain and that from sprained ankles and migraines.

Dr Michael Ben-Meir, director of Cabrini Hospital’s emergency department said that the trial showed that acupuncture was equivalent to what they defined as conventional medicine standard care, which was strong oral analgesia, like Endone, Panadeine Forte, Voltaren and Valium, the Sunday Morning Herald reported.

New UN report shows global warming’s growing impact on climate change

A new report from the UN has warned that the impacts of global warming are likely to be “severe, pervasive and irreversible”.

Scientists and officials meeting in Japan say the document is the comprehensive assessment to date of the impacts of climate change on the world, the BBC reported.

Members of the UN’s climate panel say it provides overwhelming evidence of the scale of these effects.

Natural systems now bear the brunt, but a growing impact on humans is feared.

Hurt by slowdown, industry urges RBI to cut interest rate on April 1

Reeling under the double whammy of a slowing economy and the high cost of credit, India Inc wants the Reserve Bank to cut the key interest rate in its upcoming monetary policy.

Industry’s demand for a reduction in the repo rate, currently 8 per cent, has gained momentum after wholesale and retail inflation eased in February.

“We hope for a 50 basis points cut in the repo rate as retail inflation has started receding,” CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee said.

The RBI is scheduled to unveil its first bimonthly monetary policy statement for 2014-15 on April 1.

Men four times likelier than women to suffer from autism

Researchers have revealed that that it takes more mutations to trigger autism in women than in men, which may explain why men are four times more likely to have the disorder, .

The study found that women with autism or developmental delay tend to have more large disruptions in their genomes than do men with the disorder. Inherited mutations are also more likely to be passed down from unaffected mothers than from fathers.

Together, the results suggest that women are resistant to mutations that contribute to autism.

Adam Levine makes movie debut in ‘Begin Again’

Singer Adam Levine is set to make his silver screen debut in John Carney’s “Begin Again”.

After acting in TV show “American Horror Story: Asylum”, Levine is making his move from the rock-star stage to playing a rising rock star on the big screen in “Begin Again”, reports eonline.com.

The trailer of the film, which also stars Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightley, was recently unveiled.

Levine’s former “The Voice” judge CeeLo Green will also do a cameo in the film.

China’s yuan weakens

The Chinese yuan weakened 31 basis points to 6.1521 against the US dollar Monday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trading System.

In China’s foreign exchange spot market, the yuan is allowed to rise or fall by 2 percent from the central parity rate each trading day, reported Xinhua.

The central parity rate of the yuan against the US dollar is based on a weighted average of prices offered by market makers before the opening of the interbank market each business day.

Kailash Mansarovar yatra to begin June 8

The annual ‘Kailash Mansarovra Yatra’ will begin June 8 after the medical examination of the travellers in Delhi, officials said Monday.

The journey will begin with the gathering of certified travellers. They will be examined at the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) base hospital in the national capital and move to Uttarakhand June 12.

The travellers will pay their fees and complete other formalities during their stay in Delhi.

In an abusive comment, a BJP MLA has threatened to strip Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi, and send them back to Italy if his party comes to power.

Addressing a rally in Rajasthan’s Tonk constituency, Heeralal Regar said: “Sonia and Rahul Gandhi should be stripped off their clothes and sent back to Italy.”

Taking note of Regar’s comments, the Congress party has complained to the Election Commission.

Brazilian women went topless on social media and blogs to start a crusade called “I don’t deserve to be raped”, which countered a study that found that 65.1 percent of locals believed that women who dressed provocatively deserved to be attacked and raped.

Brazilian journalist Nana Queiroz created a Facebook event and hashtag to confront the outrage and women were encouraged to share photos of themselves topless while covering their breasts with a sign #IDon’tDeserveToBeRaped, the Huffington Post reported.

An Indian origin boy has told the US govt. that they could save 400 million dollars by just changing their typeset.

Teenager Suvir Mirchandani calculated that if the government chose Garamond font instead of Times New Roman , it could reduce ink use by about 25 as each character is lighter and thinner.

Mirchandani told CNN that Ink is two times more expensive than French perfume by volume.

The idea germinated while he was working on how much his school in Pennsylvania could save in ink. (ANI)
