After Google and Yahoo, Microsoft is reportedly set to encrypt all the data flowing through its networks in a bid to thwart government surveillance.

Following revelations by NSA whistleblower about the US’ alleged mass surveillance programmes, tech companies are facing fire from consumers and investors for not addressing privacy, which in turn has prompted them to install higher encryptions on their data flowing channels.

A team of researchers have claimed that women suffering from moderate to severe menstrual cramps may find relief in a class of erectile dysfunction drugs.

Primary dysmenorrhea, also called PD, is the most common cause of pelvic pain in women.

Sildenafil citrate, sold under the brand name Viagra, may help with pelvic pain because it can lead to dilation of the blood vessels.

The researchers looked at administering sildenafil citrate vaginally, which had not yet been tried, to treat PD.

They compared pain relief from use of sildenafil vaginally with that of a placebo.

Google has launched a website offering reindeer games, elf antics and updates on gift-giver Kris Kringle as children worldwide eagerly wait for Christmas.

A livid Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni squarely blamed his bowlers for the crushing loss in the opening ODI against South Africa, saying that their bad performance left the batsmen under pressure.

India to host 2017 Under-17 FIFA World Cup

In a landmark development for Indian football, the country was today awarded the right to host the 2017 Under-17 FIFA World Cup by the world governing body of the game in its executive committee meeting in Brazil.

India was chosen as the host country for the mega event by the FIFA executive committee in its meeting at Salvador de Bahia in Brazil. South Africa, Ireland and Uzbekistan were the other countries in the running for the right to host the tournament.

By virtue of being the host country, India will take part in the 24-nation tournament for the first time in its history.

Nelson Mandela dies at 95, World leaders mourn

Nelson Mandela, South Africa’s first elected black president and a global anti-apartheid icon died early today, at his home in the suburb of Houghton here, following a lengthy illness.

He was 95.

The elder statesman was receiving medical care from a leading team since September after spending three months in a Pretoria hospital for a recurrent lung ailment.

“Fellow South Africans, our beloved Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, the founding president of our democratic nation, has departed,” Zuma said in a nationally televised address.

Police on Thursday registered a case against some BJP activists for allegedly demolishing a ‘temple’ of Sonia Gandhi in Karimnagar town.

According to the police, a group of BJP activists has demolished the ‘temple’ (made of vinyl boards) on the name of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

The ‘temple’ was built in Karimnagar town by local Congress leader Sunil Rao.

Odhisa nun rape case: SC asks trial court to deliver verdict

The Supreme Court today asked a trial court in Odhisa to deliver its verdict in a case involving rape of a Christian nun during the 2008 Kandhamal riots within three months.

A bench of justices S S Nijjar and F M Ibrahim Kalifulla vacated the stay order on the proceedings, which was done by the apex court after the victim had raised question on the trial for not cross-examining Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate, who was named as prosecution witness in the case.

The bench directed the trial court to recall the witness and to call upon the prosecutor to cross-examine him.

RTC Employees to get pay hike

(Siasat News) It is expected that A.P.S.R.T.C. will increase the salaries of its staff from March next year.
