According to Mr. Mohammed Abdur Rahman, in charge section, the results of the Urdu Dani, Zaban Dani and Insha exams of Idara-e-Adabiyat-e-Urdu , Panjagutta, conducted by Abid Ali Khan Educational Trust (Siasat daily), on January 27, 2013, have been announced.

Certificates are ready. All the in charges of centres are hereby requested to collect the certificates from the Trust office between 11 am to 5 pm. Next exams will be held in June 2013.

Zoos with poor facilities may lose elephants

Zoos that can’t provide enough space and proper facilities for the upkeep of elephants – one of the star attractions at the zoological parks – may not be able to retain them and will have to relocate them to other zoos or wildlife sanctuaries better equipped to handle their welfare.

The proposal was made at a meeting of the consultative committee of the Central Zoo Authority (CZA) last week that assessed the condition of elephants in zoos across the country and found that wanting.

Four Pakistanis among 16 held with bombs in Dhaka

Police in Bangladesh capital Dhaka have arrested 16 people, including four Pakistanis, after they were found in possession of eight bombs and 12.9 million Indian Rupees.

Police claimed that the arrested persons were “planning subversive activities in the city”.

According to The Daily Star newspaper, a team of the Detective Branch of the police conducted simultaneous drives in Paltan, Nikunja, Kalabagan and Bangshal areas of the city on Friday and Saturday and arrested the 16 people after being tipped off about their whereabouts.

Manmohan Singh greets nation on Easter

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday greeted the people on Easter Sunday, saying the festival celebrates compassion and brotherhood and the renewal of hope in a better tomorrow.

Curfew to be relaxed in Assam town

The indefinite curfew in the silk town of Sualkuchi in Kamrup (Rural) district will be relaxed for three hours on Sunday to allow people to buy essential goods even as the Army conducted flag marches.

Taking stock of the situation from district deputy commissioner S K Roy, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi directed him to relax the curfew to facilitate the people to buy essential goods. This would be from 1 PM to 4 PM, according to official sources.

Police is the local law enforcement agency for any city and the disciplinary and administrative control of the force is held by the Commissioner of Police. Hyderabad city police traces its origins to 1847 during Asif Jahi kingdom. AAP to submit 6 lakh letters to CM urging to cut power tariff

As Arvind Kejriwal’s indefinite fast against “inflated” power bills entered the ninth day on Sunday, his Aam Aadmi Party said it will on Monday deliver over 6.38 lakh letters it collected from Delhiites to Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit urging her to cut power tariff.

In a statement, AAP said a total of 6,38,707 letters were signed by Delhiites till last night and they will be submitted to Dikshit tomorrow morning.

The party alleged that the price of electricity and water had increased many folds in the capital due to corruption.

Cable TV digitisation deadline for 38 cities to end on Monday

The deadline set by government for Cable TV digitisation in 38 cities across fourteen states will end on Monday and television sets without set top boxes would go blank. These cities have been included in the second phase of digitisation as government claimed 67 per cent digitisation had been achieved in these places.

Information & Broadcasting Secretary Uday Kumar Varma on March 14 asserted the government is firm on the March 31 deadline of the phase II of digitisation in 38 towns.

Man brutally tortures 6-year-old son

A man in Punjab has been booked for torturing his six-year-old son after winning his custody battle. The incident came to light when the judge presiding over the couple’s divorce case spotted the injured child.

“The child was brought to the hospital in a serious condition. He has external injuries. We can tell about the internal injuries after we get the report of all the tests conducted,” said Dr Anupam of the hospital that is providing treatment to the child.

State governor S L Narsimhan has issued the notification consisting of names of 16 newly elected members of Andhra Pradesh legislative council which include 10 elected under MLA quota , 3 elected under teachers’ category and the same number elected from the graduates.

Women constitute 5.33% of police forces in India

The country has just 5.33 per cent women in police forces despite growing demands for more representation in law enforcement agencies. According to Home Ministry statistics, out of 15,85,117 personnel working in state police forces, only 84,479 or just 5.33 per cent are women.

Besides, there are just 499 all-women police stations in the country out of a total 15,000 stations. The demand for more women in police forces has been growing since the gangrape of a 23-year-old girl in Delhi on December 16.

CM likely to inaugurate Minority Commissionerate

Minority Welfare Minister Syed Mohammed Ahmedullah told that he is trying to take time from Chief minister for the inauguration of new building of Minority Commissionerate. After his return from Kadapa Mr. Ahmedullah will meet chief minister and request him to inaugurate Hyderabad head office of minority commissionerate. Since this is the first minority commissionerate of India which has been set up in Andhra Pradesh, he wants CM to inaugurate it.

The minister informed that the state head quarter of minority commissionerate at Tilak road is now complete and ready to become operational.

Five killed in helicopter crash in South Africa

The South African military says five air force members have died in the crash of a helicopter that was patrolling as part of an anti-rhino poaching operation.

The military said in a statement that the crash happened yesterday evening in South Africa’s Kruger National Park. It says the crew was among those killed.

The statement says the helicopter was on a scheduled patrol of the park and that an investigation is under way to determine the cause of the crash.

South Africa is struggling to stem rampant poaching of rhinos, whose horns are sold to buyers in Asia.
