Interviews for the Integrated Extensive Coaching Programme 2013 by Civil Services Examination Coaching Academy, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, will be held on Monday, 5th November 2012, at Academy’s Office on 1st Floor, ITI Building, Gachibowli, Hyderabad.

According to Prof. and Director academy, interviews will be held at MANUU Campus between 10.30 AM to 1.30 PM. The short listed candidates have to attend the interview with their Hall Tickets and Certificates for verification.

British, Pakistani, UAE ministers visit Malala at UK hospital

Pakistan’s interior minister and the foreign ministers of Britain and the UAE visited the English hospital treating Malala Yousafzai on Monday, Britain’s Foreign Office said.

The FO said the trio also met with the father of 15-year-old Malala, who was shot in the head and neck by the Taliban on October 9 as punishment for advocating girls” right to education.

Sunanda Pushkar slaps man at airport

Sunanda Pushkar, wife of newly inducted Minister of State for HRD Shashi Tharoor, reportedly slapped a man at Thiruvananthapuram airport for misbehaving with her.

According to news reports, the couple had arrived at the airport on Monday and were welcomed by a crowd of jubilant Congress workers.

However, a Malayalam news channel showed an angry Sunanda slapping a man in the crowd who had touched her inappropriately. A visibly upset Sunanda then angrily admonished him before boarding a vehicle.

Cyclone Nilam to cross Tamil Nadu, Andhra

Cyclone Nilam over Bay Bengal is expected to cross between Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh coasts Wednesday evening, said a weather department official.

The cyclone is now around 340 km south-southeast of Chennai and is moving, an official told IANS.

“Nilam is expected to cross the coast between Cuddalore (Tamil Nadu) and Nellore (Andhra Pradesh) today (Wednesday) evening,” the weather official said.

According to the weatherman, rainfall is expected at most places over coastal Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

Chief minister Jagadish Shettar accompanied by two deputy chief ministers and several ministers flew to New Delhi early Tuesday to meet Gadkari and other party leaders in one more attempt to placate Yeddyurappa, sulking, among other things, at being denied state party presidentship.

Two Kolkata footballers held for raping minor

Two footballers from two famous city-based clubs have been arrested for allegedly gang raping a 14-year-old girl in West Bengal?s North 24 Parganas district, police said Wednesday.

?Following a complaint of gang rape of a minor in which four people have been accused, we have arrested two people who play for two different football clubs,? an official of DumDum police station said.

The minor was allegedly lured by the accused to their accommodation Monday afternoon, raped and dumped outside.

Iranian warships reach Sudan

Two Iranian warships have arrived in Sudan carrying a message of support and friendship, days after Sudan accused Israel of an air strike on an arms factory in Khartoum.

The vessels docked in Port of Sudan on the Red Sea Monday and are expected to stay there until Thursday.

?The visit of these ships to Port Sudan and their presence in regional waters exemplifies serious support of political and diplomatic ties between the two countries,? Sudanese army spokesperson Savarmi Khaled Saad said.

Man visits Dubai mall in underwear, held

A man has been arrested for visiting a Dubai mall, wearing just an underwear.

The man, 20, who works for a government department, was arrested along with four of his friends who were dressed in clothes, usually worn around the house, Gulf News reported.

The men were detained on an escalator in the early hours of Saturday, the third day of the Eid al-Adha holiday period. The five are facing charges of indecent behaviour in public.

Hurricane forces UN’s New York office to remain closed

The UN has said the world body’s headquarters in New York will remain closed for the third day Wednesday “due to the impact of Hurricane Sandy”.

“Due to the impact of Hurricane Sandy, United Nations offices in New York will remain closed on Wednesday, 31 October 2012,” Xinhua quoted the UN’s announcement issued through an official e-mail. “All meetings at headquarters have been cancelled.”

Farhan Haq, the UN associate spokesperson also confirmed to Xinhua the UN office’s closure Wednesday.

Japan to launch new carrier rocket in 2013

Japan has plans to launch a new light-class Epsilon carrier rocket in summer 2013, according to the country’s national space agency JAXA.

The space agency aims have an inexpensive rocket to launch compact low-cost satellites into orbit.

It will replace the M-5 rocket, a similar vehicle that carried out seven successful space missions between 1997 and 2006. The three-stage solid-fuel launcher is designed to lift more than 2,600 pounds to low Earth orbit. The M-5 rocket could haul about 4,000 pounds to a similar orbit.

No sexual abuse of women inmates at shelter home: Official

A senior official of Women and Child Development (WCD) department has denied media reports of sexual abuse of women inmates at the state-run Navjeevan Mahila Vastigruh in suburban Mankhurd. In his letter to WCD Commissioner Rajendra Chavan, Konkan Divisional Deputy Commissioner of the department Rajendra Pokharkar denied the media reports of rape and sexual abuse of women at the shelter home. The facility houses women rescued under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.

Describing the crisis triggered by superstorm Sandy as “heartbreaking” for the entire nation, US President Barack Obama today warned the storm was “not yet over”. “This storm is not yet over,” Obama said during his trip to the headquarters of the American Red Cross here. Describing as “extraordinary” hardship seen over the last 24 hours in the regions following the storm, Obama said this is “something that is heartbreaking for the entire nation” and it’s the time for speed up rescue and recovery operations.

Boy’s suicide:Teacher moves HC seeking quashing of suspension

A teacher, who had been suspended, for not allowing a 16-year-old dalit student into the class and scolding him for breaking some flower pots leading to the boy allegedly committing suicide, has moved the High court bench here seeking to quash the order. The teacher J.Samuel Gnana Muthu of a private school at Veeravanallur in Tirunelveli district, submitted that he was suspended after police registered case against him and two others under Prevention of Atrocities and SC and ST Act, and IPC section 306 (causing to commit suicide).

14-year-old girl allegedly raped by four persons

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by four persons inlcuding a footballer near Nagerbazar area in the northern suburb of the city on Tuesday, police sources said.

The girl’s father has lodged a complaint alleging that four persons raped his daughter at Diamond City North residential complex near Nagerbazar area, the sources said.

Two persons including the footballer have been arrested in this connection, the sources said adding the other two named in the complaint are absconding.

More than 13,500 flights cancelled due to Sandy

Hurricane Sandy grounded well over 10,000 flights across the Northeast and the globe, and it could be days before some passengers can get where they’re going.

According to the flight-tracking service FlightAware, more than 13,500 flights had been canceled for Monday and Tuesday, almost all related to the storm.

By early Tuesday morning, more than 500 flights scheduled for Wednesday also were canceled.

Major carriers such as American Airlines, United and Delta cancelled all flights into and out of three area airports in New York, the nation’s busiest airspace.

Pakistan to get caretaker government in March: Minister

A caretaker government would take over in Pakistan in March next year ahead of the parliamentary elections, a cabinet minister said Tuesday.

Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira told reporters that the caretaker government would hold general elections in three months in line with the schedule, reported Xinhua.

He said the caretaker setup would be finalised before mid-March with consensus of the opposition. He dispelled the impression that the government would delay the elections.

TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao today asked the party cadres to hold protests on Andhra Pradesh Formation Day on November 1 saying that injustice was meted out to Telangana. Husband, in-laws acquitted in dowry death

A man and his parents, facing trial for allegedly killing his wife by pushing her off their roof top for dowry, have been acquitted by a Delhi court as the victim’s siblings turned hostile. Additional Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna freed North Delhi residents Javed and his parents Gulsheer and Hamida of the charges of cruelly treating the woman and killing her for dowry. The court observed that the sister and brother of the victim, who had married Javed 17 months ago, had denied their earlier statements against the three accused.

Faizabad violence: Centre offers additional forces to UP

The Centre today offered to provide additional security forces to Uttar Pradesh to help the state government in maintaining peace in violence-affected Faizabad. Minister of State for Home R P N Singh, who belongs to UP, described the violence in the twin towns of Faizabad and Ayodhya as “unfortunate and disturbing”. “I think it is very unfortunate and disturbing that riot has taken place in UP. We will have to ask the state government whether they need more central forces,” he told reporters when asked about the situation there.
