Now the responsibility of formation of Telangana state lies on all the political leaders including MLA’s, M.P’s and M.L.C’s. No public representative can escape from this responsibility. There is no justification for him to sit quietly till the formation of separate Telangana state. Mr.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi will address a rally here on October 28 as part of Congress’ strategy to counter the Opposition offensive against on FDI in multi-brand retail and other reform measures of UPA government.

Rahul Gandhi will also address the rally at the Ramlila Ground, which will be attended by Chief Ministers of all Congress-ruled states, PCC chiefs and senior leaders from the organization and the government.

AICC general secretary Janardan Dwivedi told a news agency that the rally will focus on the current situation in the country.

Pakistanis are feeling itchy following a rise in skin diseases, a report said.

Skin diseases increased by 15 percent with average 3,275 scabies cases being reported per district in July as compared with 2,842 recorded in the preceding month, said a Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) report.

Faisalabad, Bahawalpur and Gujranwala experienced 25,827, 12,254 and 11,158 scabies cases, respectively, reported News International citing the report.

The report noted that a total 2,470,345 cases of various diseases were reported with 40 percent those of acute reparatory tract infections.

Correction of names can also be made by filling in applications to be submitted to the concerned polling officers.

(Siasat News) Telangana Employees’ Joint Action Committee demanded the Govt. to withdraw prohibitory orders (Section 144) imposed in Secretariat. A delegation of employees met Chief Secretary Ms. Minnie Mathew and submitted a detailed memorandum to her protesting the implementation of section 144 in Secretariat premises. There is no such precedent in the past. This has been imposed on the wrong advice given by some police officials.

Lt Gen K S Brar, who was assaulted by four people in central London on Sunday night, is convinced that it was an attempt to assassinate him by ” pro-Khalistan elements” for his role in the 1984 “Operation Bluestar”.

Brar, who kicked and fought three of the four assailants, suffered a knife wound in the neck and is recovering after receiving medical treatment at a London hospital soon after the attack near the busy Marble Arch area. He is due to return to India on Tuesday.

The high court on Monday stayed the transport department’s decision to allow registration of 20,000 new autos in Hyderabad just days after permitting 3800 autos. The bench comprising acting Chief Justice P C Ghose and Justice Vilas V Afzulpurkar made this interim order after hearing a petition by advocate S Raju who challenged the GO issued on September 5 in this regard.

After Sunday’s Telangana march on Necklace Road, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has taken up cleaning and beautification works on Tank Bund, Necklace Road and NTR Marg.

Mayor Majid Hussain and GHMC commissioner M T Krishna Babu inspected Tank Bund and the area behind Buddha Bhavan on Monday. The mayor directed central zone zonal commissioner Ronald Rose to ensure that these areas get cleaned up on a war footing. Water stagnation from Buddha Bhavan to NTR Marg was also a matter of concern shown by the mayor.

According to a Press note issued by Prof. S.A. Shukoor, Director, Centre for Educational Development for Minorities (OU) the candidates belonging to Minority Communities who are appearing for Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2013 will be given free coaching for six months from November. The selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of an entrance test to be held on 21st October at Nizam College and other District Centres.

Castigating Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for his allegation that Sonia Gandhi’s foreign trips were funded from public exchequer, the state Congress unit on Monday said the BJP stalwart has “lost control over his mind and is suffering from “inferiority complex”.

Modi today targeted the Congress president claiming that Rs 1880 crore has been spent from the public exchequer on Sonia’s foreign trips in the past three years.

Driven by debt, a couple allegedly killed their two minor daughters before hanging themselves, leading to the death of the mother even as the father is battling for life.

Sangeeta Patel (38) and her two daughters– Snehal (3) and Kalpana (6) died while the father — Ajit Patel, survived the suicide attempt and has been admitted to hospital, Katodara police official said.

Senior Congress MLA and former state minister Mr. K Venkat Reddy has claimed that the British government was better than the Seemandhra Congress government and urged the Congress MPs to resign.

Speaking to media persons here Mr. Reddy told that Telangana march was a well orchestrated plan and by giving permission of Telangana march the Seemandhra government made the Telangana supporters who attended Telangana march, beaten up by the police, used rubber bullets, tear gas shells on them.

At least eight people were killed and 15 remained missing after two vessels, one of them carrying over 120 passengers, collided Monday evening off Hong Kong, Xinhua reported.

The accident involved a tug boat and a ferry, with 124 people aboard, the city government said in a statement, adding that so far, a total of 101 people were rescued and 15 were missing.

A major rescue operation for the missing passengers was launched, said police.

The crash occurred in the evening (around 12.30 GMT) when a ferry, carrying 124 people, was hit in the middle part by a tug boat.

India and US hope to take forward their cooperation on Afghanistan following the first US-Afghanistan-India trilateral dialogue, officials said after “positive” talks between External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Meeting here Monday on the sidelines of the ongoing UN general assembly session, Krishna and Clinton “held a positive discussion on a broad range of bilateral and regional issues,” a State Department senior official said.

The United States has told India it was going to have a broader relook at its visa regime, but this will have to await the outcome of the US presidential election in November.

This was conveyed by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Indian External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna when he raised the issue at their bilateral meeting here Monday, according to official sources.

Two passenger boats collided on Monday night near Lamma Island off the southwestern coast of Hong Kong Island, killing 36 people, reports said.

One of the boats, carrying 124 people was a chartered boat packed with revellers who were on a holiday weekend cruise to watch the fireworks at Victoria Harbour.

The other one, a ferry which did not capsize, was carrying dozens and was operated by the Hong Kong and Kowloon Ferry company.

Rescue officials rushed to the help of the passengers and the government said that 101 people were rescued.

Telangana Joint Action Committee leader Swami Goud told that Telangana ministers should immediately resign from the ministry for the achievement of Telangana. He said that it is not the joint Action Committee which seeks resignation from Telangana ministers but it is demanded by the Telangana people.

He claimed that the majority of the Telangana supporters who arrived for the Telangana march opined that for the formation of separate Telangana state Telangana ministers must have to resign in order to mount pressure on the central government.

Irked over Pakistan’s failure to punish those involved in 2008 Mumbai terror attack, India has asked Islamabad to allow a NIA team to visit and examine the evidence collected against the attack masterminds before it allows the second visit of a Pakistani judicial Commission.

India also wants the NIA team to meet the witnesses of the 26/11 case in which LeT commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi and six others are the prime accused.

The case is being heard by a special court in Rawalpindi’s high-security Adila jail.

Speaking at a press conference here at party head quarters, YSR Congress party MLA Shobhana Reddy termed Chandrababu Naidu as the brand Ambassador of famine and said that during Chandrababu’s 9 year regime, the Andhra Pradesh remained drought prone for 7 years.

She stated that Naidu should first tell what he has done to people during his nine year regime as Chief Minister. She said that it seems that TDP supremo is not starting his yatra to get appraisal of people’s problems but to prepare a colour film.

With the protests intensifying over the demand for Telangana, the Centre on Monday said there was no forward movement on the issue.

“There is no forward movement,” Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde told reporters here when asked about the Central government steps for resolution of the sensitive issue.

Asked about the claim by a senior Andhra Pradesh Police officer that the Left Wing Extremists were supporting the separate state movement, Shinde said, “That was his information. I can’t say anything on it here”.
