Isolated Rain occurred over Coastal Andhra Pradesh while weather has been mainly dry over Telangana and Rayalaseema. A bulletin from Meteorological Centre here today said Mangalgiri, Tenali in Guntur District and Vijayawada in Krishna district received a rainfall of one cm each. Forecast and Farmers’ weather bulletin valid until the morning of June 27, 2012, indicated isolated rain or thundershowers would occur over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Telangana.

Pak- US ties complicated:US

America’s relationship with Pakistan on the issue of visas and the treatment being meted out to its diplomat serving in this South Asian nation has been a complicated one, even as the two countries have made some progress in this regard, a US official said on Monday.

“It has been complicated,” State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland told reporters when asked about increase in instances of harassment to US diplomats in Pakistan as reported by an official State Department report.

US keen on bringing 26/11 perpetrators to justice

The United States Tuesday said that it is playing its part in the Indian effort to bring to justice all those who were responsible for terrorist attack in Mumbai in November 2008.

“We have been doing what we can to share information and support the Indian efforts to bring folks to justice,” State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland told reporters.

Responding to a question, Nuland said the US is aware of the reports that one of the suspected planners of the 2008 terrorist attack on Mumbai has been arrested.

GJM leaders to meet Chidambaram today

A team of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM), which has expressed disappointment over recommendations of a panel report over inclusion of new areas in the proposed hill council here, will meet Union Home Minister P Chidambaram in Delhi on Tuesday.

GJM general secretary Roshan Giri today said a five-member delegation led by party president Bimal Gurung might also meet Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee the same day.

“We will take up with the Home Minister the Justice (Retd) Shyamal Sen Committee report”, Giri said.

India keen to invest in Indonesia’s East Java

Indian companies are interested in investing in various businesses in Indonesia’s East Java province, especially in steel, textile, education and human resource development sectors, a top Indian official has said.

India’s Ambassador to Indonesia Gurjit Singh said this to H. Soekarwo, governor of East Java, during a visit to provincial capital Surabaya, also the second largest city in the country, the Indian embassy said in a statement.

Woman jumps before train with two children, run over

A 30-year-old woman jumped before a runing train with her two children in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district Monday, killing all the three, police said.

The incident occurred around 8 a.m. near Deeppura in the district, some 250 km from here. The family was resident of Jitsiya village.

“The bodies of Manju Devi, her eight-year-old daughter Khusbu and there-year-old son Deepak were found in a mutilated condition on the railway tracks,” a police official said.

US worst human trafficker: Russia

Russia has accused the US of being the world’s biggest importer of trafficked humans

The Russian foreign ministry said Monday that the US which has accused Russia of insufficient effort in combating human trafficking is itself the world’s biggest importer of trafficked humans.

Russia has been marked a Tier 2 Watch List country in the Trafficking in Persons Report 2012 by the US State Department. According to the report released last week, up to one million people in Russia could qualify for victims of human trafficking.

8 killed in Iraq bombings

At least eight people were killed and 25 injured following two bomb blasts in different cities near Baghdad Monday night, said police sources.

At least three people were killed and four wounded when a blast occurred on the roadside in a popular pet market in Diyala province’s Baquba city, near Baghdad, reported Xinhua quoting a police source.

In a separate incident, as many as five people were killed and 21 wounded when a sticky bomb attached to a mini-bus detonated in Hilla city in Babil province, about 100 km from Baghdad, said another police source.

Paraguayan president’s ouster is not coup: US

The US has not determined the ouster of Paraguay’s President Fernando Lugo by impeachment as a coup in the South American nation but is closely following the events there, the US State Department has said.

Responding to a question about whether Washington has determined the impeachment constitutes a coup, spokesperson Victoria Nuland said: “We have not.”

Beatles blamed for drug epidemics in Russia

The rampant drug abuse in modern Russia can be traced to the rock band Beatles and their experiments with psychedelics, a psychoactive drug, the country’ top substance abuse official has said.

“After the Beatles travelled to Indian ashrams to expand their consciousness, they introduced the idea of changing your mental condition through drugs to the populace,” Yevgeny Bryun said.

“When business understood that you can sell it all – pleasure and things that accompany it – this was when it all started,” said Bryun, who oversees anti-drug and alcoholism efforts at the health ministry.

13 Pakistani soldiers killed in Afghan attack

(IANS) At least 13 Pakistani soldiers were killed Monday in a cross-border attack launched by militants from Afghanistan. Of the total, seven were found beheaded.

The attack took place in Lower Dir region in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Geo News reported.

Following the attack, Pakistan summoned the Afghan Charge d’affaires to the Foreign Office in Islamabad, and lodged a strong protest.

Military officials said six Pakistani soldiers were killed and 11 went missing after the militants fired two rockets into Lower Dir. Later, seven of the 11 missing soldiers were found decapitated.

YSRC criticises Congress Govt.
