Shah Rukh Khan says in the absence of his parents, he confides his secrets and fears in his profession — acting.

“Your innermost secrets you should confide to your mother and your fears to your father. I have neither, so I end up confiding it to my acting,” tweeted King Khan, who completed two decades in Bollywood recently.

The 46-year-old superstar’s father died when he was just 15, and, and his mother died in 1990 after prolonged illness.

In the old city areas of the city however, restrictions on vehicular and pedestrian movement would continue in six police station areas, an official said here Wednesday.

26/11 attacks had full Pak support: Chidambaram

Armed with the confession of 26/11 attacks handler Abu Jundal, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday hit out at Pakistan saying it provided support to Mumbai attackers.

Speaking at a press conference here, Chidambaram said without naming Pakistan: “There was state support or state actors’ support for 26/11 massacre.”

“His (Jundal’s) confession proves that there was support of state actors for 26/11 massacre,” Chidambaram told reporters.

Pakistan has always been claiming that the Mumbai terror attacks of November 2008 were carried out by “non-state actors”.

In the backdrop of arrest and interrogation of Abu Jundal, Home Minister P Chidambaram said today there was clearly state support to the terrorists responsible for the 26/11 massacre in Mumbai.

“When I say, state actors, at the moment, I am not pointing my finger at any particular agency. But clearly there was state support or state actors’ support for the 26/11 massacre,” he said at a press conference here.

Kingfisher shares tank 13% as lessors take back 34 planes

Shares of Kingfisher Airlines on Wednesday tumbled over 13 per cent following reports that lessors have taken back 34 aircraft due to non-payment of lease rentals.

Despite positive opening, shares of the company lost ground as the trade progressed and plunged 13.47 per cent to Rs 11.62 on the BSE.

Similarly, on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the stock tanked 13.05 per cent to Rs 11.65.

On the volume front, 83.94 lakh shares of the company were traded on the BSE, while more than two crore shares changed hands on the NSE.

Pranab will win with more than 70 percent votes: Chidambaram

The UPA’s presidential candidate, Pranab Mukherjee, will win more than 70 percent of votes, union Home Minister P. Chidambaram said Wednesday.

“By now, he has already got 65 percent of the votes and shortly, this figure will cross 70 percent. We really wished that he should have been elected unopposed, but anyway now that’s not possible. Now, let there be a fair and square election,” said Chidambaram.

Women fearing childbirth have longer labour

Women who fear childbirth tend to have longer labour than women who have no such fear, suggests a new research.

Researchers found that average labour duration was eight hours for women with fear of childbirth, compared to six hours and 28 minutes for women without fear.

The Norwegian study looked at 2,206 women with a single pregnancy who intended to deliver vaginally. Study co-author Samantha Salvesen Adams, Health Services Research Centre, Akershus University Hospital, University of Oslo, Norway said: “Fear of childbirth seems to be an increasingly important issue in obstetric care.”

Pranab Mukherjee meets Sharad Yadav, thanks him for JD-U support

UPA presidential nominee Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday met JD-U chief Sharad Yadav at his residence to thank him for the support the party has extended to his nomination.

Clad in a traditional Bengali dhoti-kurta, Mukherjee, accompanied by parliamentary affairs minister Pawan Kumar Bandal and minister of state in PMO V Narayanasamy, drove up to Yadav’s residence and remained with him for around 20 minutes.

The two exchanged some pleasantries and Mukherjee thanked the JD-U leader for the support his party had extended to him in the presidential election, defying the NDA coalition.

Restrictions imposed in old Srinagar, life disrupted due to strike

Life across Kashmir Valley remained disrupted for the third day on Wednesday due to a strike called by separatists over gutting of the 200-year-old Dastageer Sahib shrine even as authorities imposed restrictions on movement of people in the old city.

As a preventive measure to maintain law and order, Srinagar district magistrate Baseer Ahmad Khan has ordered imposition of restrictions on movement of people and transport in six police station areas of the old city, officials said.

Soon after Mohammed Mursi, won Egypt’s presidential election last week to become the country’s first Islamist head of state.

His wife Najla Mahmoud refuses to be called the Arab country’s “first lady”, saying she is only Egypt’s “first female servant” as reported by Egyptian media.

“There is nothing called Egypt’s first lady…there is something called Egypt’s first female servant because we are all citizens with the same rights and same duties,” Najla Mahmoud said, quoted by the Egyptian press.
