All military bases in the region within range of Iran missiles

A senior Iranian military official says all military bases in the Middle East are within the range of the Iranian-designed and -built missiles.

Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Hossein Salami said on Friday that Iranian surface-to-surface, surface-to-air and long-range ballistic missiles can reach any military bases in the region, and hit the desired targets with high precision.

Pope’s butler charged over scandal

Pope Benedict’s butler Paolo Gabriele has been charged with illegal possession of secret documents that revealed cronyism and corruption in Vatican contracts.

Vatican magistrates said on Saturday that a wider investigation would take place to see if Gabriele had any accomplices who had helped him leak them.

Marks obtained in CBSE exams cannot be given under RTI: HC

In a significant ruling, the Delhi High Court has held that marks obtained by a student in CBSE board exam cannot be revealed under the transparency law as it would “defeat” the purpose of the new grading system.

The court set aside the verdict of a single judge bench and the Central Information Commission, which had asked the Central Board of Secondary Education to reveal marks obtained by a girl in her Class X board examination in 2010.

Won’t allow Pak to become ‘Indian market’: Saeed

Pakistan is a sovereign state and the Defa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) will not allow the country to become an “Indian market”, Lashkar-e-Taiba founder Hafiz Mohammad Saeed said.

Saeed, described by India as the mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, made the remarks while addressing a news conference with other leaders of the DPC in the southern port city of Karachi.

CBI to continue questioning Jagan today

For the second consecutive day, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) grilled YSR Congress Party leader YSJaganmohan Reddy for over seven hours on Saturday in the disproportionate assets case and directed him to appear again on Sunday.

Jagan, as the MP from Kadapa is popularly known, told reporters that the CBI sought more clarifications from him and have asked him to come again Sunday.

The results of class XII Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examination 2012 will be announced on May 28.

The results will be declared at 11 am on May 28, said a CBSE statement on Friday. The results will be available on the websites www.results.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in and www.cbse.nic.in.

Students can also get their results on email by registering themselves on these websites.

Students can also dial 011-24357276 to get their results. Besides, they can get their results through SMSes.

The results for class X examination were declared on Thursday.

Violence continues, Syria situation remains serious

The situation in Syria “remains extremely serious” and UN efforts to end the political crisis in the country have seen only “small progress”, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has said in a report to the Security Council.
