Tiger can’t be caged: Ambati on arrest of Jagan

YSR Congress official spokesperson Ambati Rambabu has said that both the Congress and the TDP were trying to beat the tiger in its own den.

Speaking to the media here on Sunday, he said when the tiger (Jagan) throws it paw, these parties would have to run for their lives. He has expressed confidence that his party chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy would come out clean of all the allegations.

Defeat Congress and Ysrc: Chandrababu

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has alleged that both Congress and YSR Congress were robbing the state and called upon the people to reject both the parties in the present by-elections.

Addressing a road show here as part of his electioneering, he said Congress has been encouraging the corrupt, ever since it has come to power. He said with the family rule, during the first five years, the party has plundered the state exchequer. He has called upon the people to give a befitting reply to the plunderers.

Health card for Hajj pilgrims introduced

Haj pilgrims selected through ‘qurrah’ have to pay Rs.51,000 towards first instalment, by June 11,. This was stated by the Chief Executive Officer, Haj Committee of India, Mr Shakir Husain.

Speaking to the media here, he said that the final instalment amount to be paid by the Hajis would be decided in due course.

He said that for the first time, the Haj Committee was introducing health card for the benefit of the pilgrims. The card would contain the medical history of the pilgrim and it would come handy in case of any emergency in Saudi Arabia. (NSS)

We will go to courts on police excesses: YSRC

YSR Congress official spokesperson Bajireddy Govardhan has said his party would go to courts on the excesses being perpetrated by the police on party cadres.

Talking to the media here on Sunday, he has alleged that police were acting as per the instructions of the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy. He said the government with the help of the police was trying to scuttle the winning chances of the YSR Congress, which he said commanded people’s support.

Another shock to TDP: MLA Bala Nagi Reddy meets Jagan

In yet another indication of the success of YSR Congress party’s ‘Operation Akarsh’, Bala Nagi Reddy, TDP MLA from Mantralayam of Kurnool district, has met Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy at his Lotus Pond residence on Sunday, before he left for CBI interrogation. Bala Nagi Reddy is likely to join the YSRC shortly, even as the TDP leaders were asserting that none of TDP MLAs would join Jagan party.

Nine lose eye sight due to faulty surgery

Nine poor people have lost their eye sight due to faulty surgery at a private hospital in Ongole.

According to information, the hospital management which found that surgeries they performed had failed, rushed the patients secretly to the government Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital in Hyderabad for examination and further treatment. However surgeons of the SD Hospital have found that the eyes of all the patients were seriously damaged and they had lost eye sight permanently.

Three Congress MPs will extend support to Jagan: Hari

Congress MP Sabbam Hari haas said that three Congress MPs would extend support to the YSR Congress chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Speaking to the media at the Dilkusha guest house where Jagan was being questioned for the third consecutive day on Sunday, Hari said though he knew that these three MPs were ready to extend support to Jagan, he did not know if they would personally meet him or extend their solidarity over telephone.

Fire breaks out in Begumpet shops

A major fire broke out in the three- storied building located besides the Pantaloon show room at Begumpet here on Sunday. As the Transformer blast nearby resulted in flames in the Harmony gift shop, the fire spread to the shops nearby.

Fire fighters with help of four fire tenders were trying to douse the flames. As the water in the fire tenders exhausted, fire fighters brought water from Jalamandali (Water Board) and trying to put out the flames. Due to the fire accident, police have diverted the traffic on Begumpet road. (NSS)

‘We have no belief in CBI probe into Jagan case’: Raghavulu

The CPI-M State Secretary B V Raghavulu has made it clear on Sunday that they have no confidence in the on-going CBI inquiry into the disproportionate assets of Kadapa Mp and YSRC Party leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Vijayamma blames Congress for Jagan’s arrest

Pulivendula MLA YS Vijayamma condemned the arrest of her son and Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy by the CBI in the disproportionate assets case.

Talking to reporters after Jagan’s arrest at Dilkusha Guest House, Vijayamma blamed the Congress party for the entire episode and alleged that Jagan was wrongly framed in the case. “What was my son’s fault? TP-JAC’s decision on Parkal by-polls in three days

The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee will soon announce its decision on supporting the candidate in the by-elections for Parkal seat.

Talking to reporters at Nekkonda on Sunday, TP-JAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram said that the decision is likely to be announced in three days. He informed that the survey done under the supervision of professors of Kakatiya University on what should be the stand of JAC in Parkal was nearing completing. After analysing the survey findings, the JAC will announce its support for either TRS or BJP candidate.

Group-I prelims exam passes off peacefully

Nearly 72.51 per cent of candidates appeared for the Group-I preliminary examination conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission across the State on Sunday.

According to the APPSC, as many as 1,73,265 candidates appeared for the examination held at 740 centres across the State went off peacefully. The exams were held from 10.30 am to 1 am. The candidates would compete for 314 Group-I posts in the State.

The results of prelims are likely to be announced in the last week of June and Group-I main examinations will be conducted from September 3 to 12. (INN)

White paper on black money nothing but ‘blatant lies’: Modi

Lashing out at Congress-led UPA government, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said that the white paper on black money released by the Centre was nothing but ‘blatant lies’.

Last Monday, the government tabled a White Paper on black money in Parliament which did not disclose any name but
made a strong case for setting up Lokpal and Lokayuktas to deal with the menace.

“The White Paper on black money released by the Centre is nothing but blatant lies,” Modi said while speaking at
71st General Meeting of South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry(SGCCI) in Surat.

Tension in Vijaywada after Jagan’s arrest

Following the arrest of Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy in disproportionate assets case this evening, YSR Congress leaders and workers staged dharnas at different places in the city and threatened to call for bandh in the city on Monday.

Tension prevailed here following Jagan’s arrest and some of the YSR Congress party leaders were picked up as a
precautionary measure, police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Ravindranadh Babu told PTI that the situation in the city was under control and some
of the leaders and workers from YSR Congress had been taken into custody.

Jagan arrested in assets case, Andhra on alert

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Sunday evening arrested YSR Congress party leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy in a disproportionate assets case.

YSR party leader J. Prabhakar Rao told reporters outside Dilkusha Guest House, the CBI camp office, that the CBI has arrested Jagan, as the young leader is popularly known.

The MP and son of late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was arrested after the CBI grilled him for the third consecutive day.

Anticipating violent protests by the supporters of Jagan, police went on high alert across the state.
