The Obama Campaign in a new ad has accused presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney of outsourcing jobs to India when he was the Massachusetts Governor.

“What about Mitt Romney? As a corporate CEO, he shipped American jobs to places like Mexico and China. As governor, he outsourced state jobs to a call center in India. He’s still pushing tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas,” said the advertisement which will run in the key States of Virginia, Ohio and Iowa.

Already battling corruption cases, YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy now finds himself in a new controversy as the authorities in the Tirupati temple say he has violated norms.

Jagan is a practising Christian but did not sign a mandatory declaration that Non-Hindus have to sign before entering the shrine.

The YSR Congress chief visited the temple on Wednesday while campaigning for upcoming bypolls in Andhra Pradesh.

According to the temple officials, even after they approached Jagan to sign the declaration, he refused to adhere to the norms.

Apex court tells CBI to give report on Azad’s killing

The Supreme Court Thursday directed the CBI to submit before a magistrate in Andhra Pradesh its probe report on the alleged staged shootout killing of Maoist leader Cherukuri Rajkumar alias Azad and journalist H.C. Pandey.

The apex court bench of Justice Aftab Alam and Justice C.K. Prasad gave a direction to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after it disposed of two petitions seeking an independent probe into the 2010 shootout.

Naxals release Sukma Collector Alex Paul Menon

The Naxals on Thursday released abducted Sukma District Collector Alex Paul Menon, ending the 12-day long hostage crisis. The state government has, however, said that an official confirmation in this regard will be given only after the IAS officer reaches Sukma.

Earlier on Thursday, negotiators B D Sharma and G Hargopal had left the state capital and reached Chintalnaar, from where they moved to the jungles inside Tadhmetla.

The mediators are likely to escort the IAS officer to Raipur for a medical check-up.

PCI blacklists 37 pharmacy colleges for violating norms

The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has blacklisted 37 colleges in the state for making excess admissions violating PCI norms. They gave an excuse that AICTE has permitted them to give admissions.

A meeting of PCI central council was held in New Delhi recently which took the decision of blacklisting 37 colleges as they have admitted 200 students though the original sanctioned strength is only 60.

As per the PCI norms, the maximum strength can go up to 100 if the colleges are more than four years old while it has to be 60 for colleges established in the last four years.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is looking forward to meeting “dynamic” and “influential” Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee next week during which she will discuss the progress made by West Bengal under her leadership and her take on India-Bangladesh ties.

“I think she (Clinton) look forwards to seeing Chief Minister Banerjee — one of India’s dynamic women chief ministers,” a senior Obama administration official told PTI ahead of the Kolkata visit by the Secretary of State.

According to Prof. Baig Ehsas head of the department Central University of Hyderabad, notification has been issued for admission into 5 year integrated programme of M.A Urdu for the academic year 2012-13.

Atleast 60 percent marks in intermediate are compulsory for admission. Students who have appeared for intermediate or equivalent exam and are awaiting their results and their results are likely to be announced till July 31, 2012 are eligible to apply.

Drunk man rapes 65-year-old mother-in-law

In an outrageous incident, a drunk man allegedly raped his 65-year-old mother-in-law. The victim, who is a TB patient, filed a complaint with the Koradi police accusing Ramesh Gawhane of committing the heinous act.

A father of three, 46-year-old Gawhane, is absconding. Gawhane’s daughter got married a year ago. His two sons are studying in ninth and seventh standard respectively. The matter was reported to Koradi police station by the victim’s daughter on Tuesday night.

Gambling den raided, 6 held : (Siasat News): The east zone team of commissioner task force has raided a gambling den and arrested six persons and seized the cash.

According to details, the gang was involved in running open gambling den in VST and Vidyanagar areas. On a tip off, police raided the den and arrested six persons.

Police also seized Rs. 10,000 and packets of playing cards used for gambling. Further investigations are on.

Youth sentenced to death for beheading girl

Terming it the rarest of rate cases, a Ranchi court Wednesday awarded the death sentence to a youth, Bijendra Kumar, for beheading a girl in a college campus here last year.

Ranchi District Session Judge S.H. Kazmi had convicted Bijendra on April 26 in gruesome murder of Khushboo on April 27, 2011 when she was coming out from the classroom after appearing in the intermediate examination in St. Xavier’s College.

Ramadan to see 20-30% price cuts

The prices of most consumer products will be slashed by 20-30 per cent during the fasting month of Ramadan in line with an agreement between suppliers and shopping outlets, according to officials.

The Ministry of Economy, which is involved in a drive to prevent sharp rises in consumer prices, has also told all cooperative societies and other dealers to ensure all consumer products are available in sufficient quantities for Ramada, which is expected in the second half of July this year.

Ban of sand causes inconvenience

(Siasat News) State Govt. has imposed a ban on extraction and transportation of sand from the rivers on the orders of the A.P. High Court.

A.P. Govt. is trying to approach Supreme Court for lifting this ban. Due to ban on extraction of sand, all the activities of construction have come to a standstill for the past one month. Govt. is also forced to stop the construction of houses to be given to the poor persons.

According to the estimates of construction contractors, the state needs nearly two crore cubic meter sand per annum.
